The way prices are today it’s got to be £20 million. He’s bit different to most strikers because he can run with the ball instead of just running after it.
That is a great observation

Rothwell at his best was inconsistent. Let’s see how many starts he gets before he’s shipped out.

My favourite players from last season and the last couple were Rothwell and Nyambe. I have always been vocal in support of both.
That is funny the two that have left are your favourites. The ones that are no longer rovers players.

I think it’s to early to judge hedges. He came at a time we had already hit a wall for whatever reason. Even Giles who I rate looked crap. I think Mowbray had lost the plot by the time he arrived. Let’s see how he does under a new manager

It has become a running theme across numerous windows that we have had leftover budget that never seemingly gets spent in following windows.
Funny that.
It does and guess who was in charge.

Crazy. Armstrong has his faults but is a totally different animal.
Your right and he is being found out at the level above. Shooting endlessly and not bringing team mates into play does not work even on the playground. I can’t remember the match but even the commentators said he was just taking endless potshots at goal. In my opinion give me a man who works for the team rather than one who works for himself

Do you not feel if our remit is to look at bringing players through the academy patience is needed. Dolan is 20 and still learning his trade if he was the finished article he wouldn’t be here. The positives for me is there is lots of growing room, he wants to be here and he comes across as a genuinely good guy. He puts 100% into it and works his socks off for the team. I’d prefer Dolan to Armstrong for example who played for himself

I posted the link to it earlier, it wasn’t the half way line but he did a little keepy-up and then stroked it in from the penalty spot area.
Sorry I’m on holiday and just joined without looking. Thanks for confirming my memory. I was cautious because I thought I’d imagined it

Ya, we think we have it bad but they are standing on a trapdoor and who knows where it ends.
Things that aren’t going well I’m the world
global warming
plastic in the sea
destruction of the rain forest
ukraine
fuel prices
yet the fact Burnley are in deep shit makes me feel at one with the world. The above will lead to global catastrophe but as long as they go first who cares

Regarding own goals, there aren't many of us left who remember Mike Harrison on the edge of our own penalty area looking to pass the ball to a team mate upfield and deciding to pass back to Fred Else on his goal line. Else meanwhile had come out close to Harrison to collect the ball. Both players stood spellbound as the ball rolled slowly towards the Rovers empty net. We on the Blackburn End were trying to will the ball to stop. Some were even blowing to try and stop it. There had been no pressure whatsoever from the opposition.
The most spectacular own goal was Keith Newton when playing right full back for Burnley. What a fabulous sight.
This may be in my mind but didn’t metcalfe( one of the greats) do a half way line one against Newcastle.

The guy who used to write about my local rugby league team was banned from entering the ground by the clubs directors because he was on their case. He ended up going in through the turnstiles with a false beard and clear glasses.
False beards and glasses is typical Rochdale. Nothing to report there

Indisputably, a Rovers' super fan but never been sure why he's known as 'Birdy' when his surname is Birkbeck?
In my mind, the late Stuart Baird (think I've got his name right) was the original, and in many ways unique, 'Birdy'.
Is that back of the blackburn end hard birdy

I would prefer one of the big 3 farke, carvalho or dyche but I know I ain’t getting that. I’m pretty sure we won’t pay compensation for someone of calibre in work. Looking at the other options Ferguson appears the best of the rest. I feel physically sick at the thought of some of those names on the list of possibles

There seems to be some on here who are happy for TM to be going because they feel he has blown our chance at promotion. Were the same people seeking for him to extend his contract when we got into the top 6 and then top 2? Because that would appear to be the logical balance to wanting him gone due to us not making the play offs or better.
Yes the drop off was awful. But the level of hatred and ill feeling certainly didn't seem balanced with positivity toward him when, quite frankly, we were over performing.
I wanted him gone last year on the 2 wins in 17 before the shit show this year. Not because I hate him. Never meet him so as a person no opinion. However as a football manager to big him up he’s bang average. What he is good at is talking himself. That is just an opinion. Let’s see where he ends up. If he’s as great as you feel then it’s premiership here he comes but I doubt it

Is there anything they could say that would change your mind?
I can never say never but I feel very strong in my mind that it's not a conversation where they say 'Tony will you stay?' and I say 'yes because you're asking'. There are lots of things that need to change. I want to give myself a chance to compete in the Premier League with a club that has the finances, the backing, the support and everything around it to compete in this league at the top and be disappointed if you don't get out of the division.
So he wants to be close to his family in the north east and challenge in the premier league with a team with money. That will be Newcastle. Answer no chance. He is an absolute dreamer who overrated his ability and his standing in the game. This is the guy who was on his way to chesterfield before his agents intervened. Even Pulis implied he got it easy. I will almost guarantee this will be the biggest and best job he’ll every get and he messed it up

Mowbray comments today should prick a few ears.
When he’s openly saying he doesn’t know how the owners work, and when he’s saying Waggott doesnt make the decisions it really is damning on the owners and on Waggott. For starters, it’s no good to anybody when the main man at Blackburn doesn’t have any power, can’t make decisions and presumably - like Mowbray - doesn’t understand how the owners work, how they think or what they want. If he had any credibility he should tonight be considering his position.
Then again we’re looking for a new manager. If they read Mowbrays comments would they fancy risking their reputation, or building their reputation after seeing what a mess this club is? Someone will of course, but how can they succeed under these conditions?
As for the owners, Mowbrays comments are just adding to the already low esteem that they are held in by most fans. 12 years. It really is time for them to sell up and move on. They can’t bring anything to this club apart from derision, confusion and exasperation. Put the club up for sale. Your times up in my opinion.
This is a total shambles of a club.
It is time for them to move on but Mowbray has sung their praises for the last 5 years. Now he questions. Get him out the door up to Hartlepool. If they where so bad he should have resigned. He’s made a great living and now he stars thinking something not right. He makes me laugh. Playing the cards for himself the old lag

He’s the front runner for the Hartlepool job that is so hilarious.
-
Just got back from work and don’t want to work my way through the line of thought.
This is hypothetical staying not actual. I’ll be glad to see the back of him tomorrow and that’s a fact
-
Mowbray should be laughing all the way to the bank. The lack of communication has allowed him to get away with 2 wins in 17, a 7v0 home defeat and the absolute shit show that is the second half of this season. He’s benefitted from the shite they dish out to us supporters and now he’s grumbling when it happens to him.
Welcome to the party Tony

If the team put even half the effort of the away support we’d already be promoted

The animosity aimed at Mowbray on here is disgusting IMO
So which games have you been to. Fulham Coventry Peterborough. You must be standing somewhere else than me because a lot of us are fucked off. So which part of the longside do you sit

Nah, give over, we've sung as bad for years. Reality is it would be good for us to have the old enema-e back in the same division to spice things up at least twice a season, at least until both clubs can get rid of the fungus that is eating them both from the inside 😉
Even worse the guy there singing about put money into their club to save them. The inbred fuckwits.

There was plenty of booing at half-time and I didn't stay long enough to hear any Mowbray out chants at the final whistle but there were alot of unhappy fans when that 2nd goal went in.
I find it staggering to be honest when people can't see what's staring them in the face
In the area I was standing there was for the first time a lot of supporters sick of Mowbray and that continued on the way out most felt the time for change had come.

I can’t get my head round this young kids idea. How long do you say they are to young. 21 / 22. A career only lasts into their 30s. Get them up and get them in. If their not good enough it won’t ruin their career if they have character it will make them work harder. You are shaped by adversity and challenges. Carter Wharton garret etc. Give them squad and pitch time.
