  1. You’d think that Cowley needs to get a promotion out of League One at least before he can be considered a Championship level manager. The PE teacher style might have got Lincoln a decent cup run in League 2 but this looks a massive big step up into a club with high expectations and high earning players. Paul Hurst had achieved more for god’s sake. Just seems a naive and ill considered appointment for the situation Huddersfield were in. He talks a good game, and it’s easy to fall for all the PR and exciting storied hype without considering the inexperience or track record. Who’d do that? *cough* Paul Ince *cough*
  2. I think Ipswich and Hibs may be as much to do with geography as anything. Put yourself in TM’s shoes. If you, as a Rovers fan, had 3 young lads living miles away from your work in Blackburn, and you were (probably) going to get a pay rise to manage the club that you’ve always supported therefore enabling you to see your family everyday, and stay at home etc... He wouldn’t be able to turn it down surely.
  3. I’d be more disappointed in our goalkeeper for doing it tbh. Was stupid by Raya.
  4. Good post. Although he didn’t impact the game as much as we’ve seen, I thought Downing did play a part in weathering the storm just by getting his foot on the ball, safely popping it about and being an option. Was only in brief flashes though. Did think we were naive with most of the lofty balls and goal kicks. Was too bloody windy. Play like that then we’ll win a few though. Still 1/4 the season left.
  5. Decent lot their supporters, chatty and welcoming. Still absolutely blind to the decisions though - they thought they were hard done by!
  6. Yup. Robbed. Can’t be disappointed with the team, the attitude, mentality, or the manager. ”We’ll put a decent point IN THE BAG and move on” Still many positive signs.
  7. Crazy to see some criticising Walton for the Watkins goal. It’s leathered into the postage stamp beautifully. No one is saving that.
  8. Yeah but did you know that Lambert played for Dortmund? Should've kept Hurst!
  9. Unfortunately, I think he might, with the right guarantees and contract.
  10. Yeah, starting to like Lurch. Quite an imposing gangly sod up close. His shot stopping is underrated by us lot I think. It was a criminal waste the Josh King situation that’s true. Wasn’t he being bandied around at £30m this window? I hope it’s just my memory playing tricks that Chris Brown often kept him out of the side. If Arma was 6 foot and a bit like King is and could get his head on more stuff, then he’d certainly be one of Bournemouth’s best players too.
  11. I’d say he’s already WAY better than King ever was for us
  12. Would have snatched your hand off for a point before the game but of course feel a bit flat. Away at Brentford we’ve got to be happy not to get beat. Do feel robbed though - theirs was never a pen. Having said that I was 80yds away and had 4 pints between 10:30-12:00 Rovers battled well, proud to clap them off.
  13. Last chance to tick the ground off for me. Couldn't miss it! I’ll invoice Sky for my dry cleaning.
  14. Nah all here ”The Brook” a bit gastro now. New Inn winning so far 3/4 ?
  15. Princess Royal done. Onto The New Inn ?
  16. Seem complicated for you Kendog ? Jason Steele is employed to give BHA’s strikers confidence in training, I have zero doubt.
  17. Having a signature celebration must add a couple of mill on to any valuation.
  18. All hypothetical anyway isn’t it. I’ve got a good feeling... 3-1 Rovers 3 Raya OGs with Big Sammy G terrifying the crap out of him from long balls. They’ll get a consolation that has something to do with Amari Bell.
  19. Ah thought Huddersfield was year before last tbh. I just cannot countenance the idea that we should be gambling the financial health of the club in order to go up, nor do I think it is REQUIRED. For every Wolves there is the chance of doing a Wednesday who had to sell their stadium and be left with an old overpaid squad failing FFP every year just for that day out at Wembley.
  20. Just the way it goes. Due to work and location I maybe get to 10-15% of games a season, mainly away. Get to Wembley and I’m there like a tramp on chips.
  21. Feeling like a Vince Grella “week” tbh
  22. Would like to think it’s with a view to taking on an imminently ending contract... But like you I really don’t know and find it odd if not. Maybe City feel bad about letting him go because of the “legendary” status of his dad? ?
  23. Unsure about Norwich, remember hearing they had a big clear out and spent very little (it was used as an example of TM failing last year anyway?) These were just off the top of my head. Still struggling to get to 95%... If recency is preferred - Merely 1/3 of the teams promoted in the last two seasons have been “slow builds”. How’s that sound?
