  1. I said earlier, Nyambe gets his 1st Rovers goal tonight! I’m not backing down now
  2. We are short of strikers; but, I simply cannot believe Gally on the wing; it hasn’t worked yet.
  3. Yes, another striker would’ve been huge. I love our defending, I guess we will have to hope we get a plucky goal today from someone we do not normally expect to score. Nyambe?! Could this be it, the day Nyambe gets his 1st Rovers goal? It couldn’t come at a more welcome time.
  4. We also have to hope Blackpool beats QP. Cardiff vs HUD’s, etc. At some point, we have to win our own battles. Defending has been stellar; perhaps that will make the difference vs ShefU.
  5. I will admit I’m not expecting anything from this trip. I think the moment of opportunity has passed us by. A point would be a huge get, imo.
  6. Lenihan is back. Gally will need to be ready. I’d say Dolan is needed, & Khadra. All these guys need to perform well for us to have a chance to win, imo.
  7. I love great defending. I have to believe eventually, it works in our favor!
  8. I’m good with the progress the club has shown this season. I love our defending, all the clean sheets (11 in our last 14!), etc. It’s been very exciting, this promotion chase, since this is my first since coming into Rovers fandom. I do not demand we promote, But I’d be sadly disappointed if we cannot make the playoffs this season. But, if we’re serious about promotion, we need to start scoring some goals. Scoring 2 goals, in the last eight games, while taking 9 pts in those same 8, staggers my mind. BB-D hasn’t scored since Barnsley. Others need to step up, too. I’m still very hopeful this season might be the one! COYB!!!
  9. First Rovers game I’ve watched in its entirety, since Reading/Rovers in person in Sept, 2019. Some observations: Wharton & Van Hecke are wonderful defenders. I am glad Kaminski got a new deal. BB-D is a wonderful scorer at this level, but he appeared sluggish today. Dolan & Khadra brought some good energy into the game. All things considered, it was a hard-won point at the Hawthorns. I cannot gripe about that. I can gripe we haven’t scored a goal in four straight.
  10. I never subscribed to Rovers TV, mainly due to the high number of complaints relating to quality & accessibility I see here. I decided to go for it…todays game is on ESPN+. My son (a Liverpool fan, not Rovers), encouraged me to get it, due to high number of Championship games on +. It’s relatively cheap $6.99/Mo), & probably my best option here in Texas. COYB!!!
  11. I dunno, Simon… Theres lots of things that happen that cannot be attributed to the manager. Lenihan’ s two yellows, for example. TM cannot take off every player who gets a yellow. The player has to be responsible, play smarter. I’ve raked ol’ Tony over the coals a few times, myself. He deserves some credit for the winning streak, he deserves some blame for our goals drying up. But, we’ve had some open sitters that our lads totally blew during the last 7 games. I don’t know if we can promote or not. If we make a playoff place, I will always think fondly of ol’ Tony. Even if we don’t promote. Obviously, a lot can still happen in our final 15 games. I like to think we can ride the current drought out, and start scoring again. COYB!
  12. Eight points from our last seven, but only scored 2 goals. Ouch! We need to score. I don’t want to see us lose our defensive edge, but I think a couple of goals tomorrow would be just what the doctor ordered. COYB!!
  13. During the six game winning streak, Lenihan, Wharton, Travis, Pickering, Nyambe, Rothwell, Buckley, & BB-D started all six. Van Hecke, & Khadra started five. Kaminski, four; Pears, two. Dolan & Ayala started one, the first in the streak, vs Peterborough (arguably, the easiest to win). The team should pick itself fairly easily, without changing formation. With Lenihan out, Ayala should start. If we change to four back, it should be Dolan, right? I’m sure I’m missing something…I’m sure y’all will tell me what it is 😅
  14. With Lenihan out, & if Pickering is fit, I’d be tempted to play HP & Ayala. Nyambe is a must. I would not start Zeefuik.
  15. I’m afraid our big opportunity has passed us by. Indeed, it’s a shame.
  16. Sad state of affairs. I all but gave up hopes of promotion when we went down to 10 men. No offense, and stupid on-field decisions are killing us.
  17. Last years transfer window, TM got basically who he wanted, and the same could be said this year. Owners have to be questioning him now.
  18. In our 6 game winning streak, we appeared to score when we wanted. In 4 of the last 6 we failed to score, and that appears to be 5 of 7 after today. I don’t see how we can win promotion playing like this.
  19. Not feeling good about our chances today.
  20. The only question for me is Nyambe. otherwise, I’m happy with our 11 & bench.
  21. I think everyone is available from Cardiff (except Edun), that’s a strong 11. We’ve got the players… formation & who plays where Tony chooses is concerning. As we’ve seen, it’s not always about the “jimmy’s & Joe’s” with TM, it’s also the x’s & o’s
  22. Last year, Mowbray brought in his January transfers, in fact, he got everybody he asked for, & February was the worst month in my short memory (5 losses, 1 tie). Heres hoping the same thing doesn’t happen this time around. COYB!!!
  23. Hull, then today. I look for us to promote, but we can’t have any more games like this.
  24. Nine clean sheets in our last 11… I never thought I’d be saying that 😅 Seriously, that’s where this game will be won. Our defending has been amazing. They aren’t perfect, but they are talented, & confident.
