  1. Is he going out on loan? Must've missed that one.
  2. Very nervy end, but I think Rovers just edged it. PNE didn't do enough in the game to genuinely deserve anything from it IMO. The desperate need for reinforcements is made even clearer when Eustace made his changes. Cantwell aside, every other sub weakened the team, so it was no real surprise that Preston came on strong at the end. Hopefully Kargbo plus a couple of others can come in and freshen things up. 2 tough away fixtures next in QPR and WBA. Really wish they hadn't moved the QPR game forward! Who was the manager / head coach we had when we last beat Preston at Ewood? Tony Mowbray? Or is it even further back?
  3. I think he just hates Rovers. Seems to have a problem with us every time we're on Sky and he's doing co-comms.
  4. Dolan and Hedges categorically lack the decision making and intelligence required. Dolan plays like a kid controlling a player on FIFA just spamming the skill moves button
  5. I imagine Nixon says the other two because he's published stories on the Egyptian striker and the Hibs forward, as well as regularly stating interest in O'Brien. He probably he means 2 from those 3.
  6. We look so much better with Travis in the team.
  7. So important to get the first goal. Another one early in the 2nd half would hopefully kill the game. Gueye definitely looking like a very different (better) player now than 2 months ago. Dolan did well for the cross, up until that point he was not having a particularly good game. I hope Kargbo is better than Hedges if he's going to play on the left. Hedges works hard like they all do, but has shown no quality this season other than the dink over the keeper away at Norwich in game 2.
  8. More like he should've left it to Gueye
  9. Always drops a stinker against PNE
  10. Seems about right. Certainly about as good as it can get at the moment with injuries / no new signings. Weimann centrally over Cantwell could be a good move as he has that knack of popping up in the right place to poach. That aside, you can just sense the Osmajic winner in this one 😂.
  11. Won't be 100% sure of Kargbo signing until he's wearing the shirt in a match day squad (even wearing it as part of a player announcement isn't enough at Rovers these days). The positive is that it's hopefully a player through the door in a position we need filling. The question will remain as to whether he's an improvement on what we have or not...time will tell. Highly doubt the Egyptian striker will join, seems far too good to be true. As Nixon says in his story that it is an enquiry, so hardly worth getting excited about unless it progresses further. Sadly this is all too little too late. Rovers would need to go on an incredible run between now and the end of the season to reach the average points total for making the playoffs.
  12. If Youan is a permanent then its preferable to another loan with Cissoko. Doesn't matter much as Hibs will knock back the first bid and then Rovers will spend a week faffing about before they submit another only to realise the deadline has passed. Bit concerning that we're getting pretty much no concrete striker links now. They really are gearing up for the spiel of Gueye to be 'like a new signing' now that he is more settled at the club 🫠.
  13. If true about Cissoko I highly doubt it'll have an option to buy included. He's only 21 and Toulouse likely wanting more than we can afford for a permanent deal. That aside, if he's fit and ready to play then he's a decent option.
  14. Currently on loan from Toulouse. Had a lengthy injury earlier in the season but hasn't really gone straight back into the first team since returning. Unused sub in the last two games. You'd think with Whittaker leaving that they would want to hold onto him. Probably not true anyway 😅
  15. Bloody slowest whims ever 😂
  16. Urrrrgh.....As I said in my post, the likelihood is Rovers don't bring in someone better than him this month, so what's the point?? If they can do so and will actually follow through for once then that's different. If Boro are still interested in the summer then by all means explore selling him.
  17. That same person also tweets that Rovers want something like £5m for Pears if he was to leave this month. While that may be true, I'd be gobsmacked if Boro stumped up that much for him. He is FAR from perfect but I wouldn't be too hasty to get rid of Pears at this moment in time. Who exactly comes in to replace him eh? Toth and then a new and more importantly CHEAP back up keeper most likely. Elsewhere its good to see news of much needed incomings is coming thick and fast 🤪
  18. As crazy as this sounds, if Travis starts on Friday then I'd pair him with Forshaw. Forshaw is closer to the type of player Tronstad is than Buckley, so my logic is that Travis can do what he does best and Forshaw can do the Tronstad role. Buckley being there I fear means Travis has to change the way he plays. Predicted team: Pears Britain Batth Hyam Beck Travis Forshaw Weimann Dolan Hedges Gueye Think he'll revert to a back 4 for this game.
  19. 100% this. Standards are so poor amongst goalkeepers. Even teams fighting for champions league places seem to have naff goalkeepers these days. Look at the fella in net for Chelsea. Raya who is supposedly the best keeper in the league atm also drops drops clangers. Gone are the days of Seaman, Friedel, Van Der Sar, Schwarzer, Given, etc. Call me old fashioned but I feel like a big part of it has come down to playing out from the back as most teams in the top division seem to attempt, and most of them do it so badly. This has obviously started filtering down to the Championship as well. Keepers are suddenly having to focus just as much on their ability with the ball at their feet as they are at actually preventing the ball from going in the net. On Pears. He's probably having his best season at Rovers, probably his career so far actually. I think he's been helped by having a much more solid back 4 in front of him as well.
  20. Probably the striker from St Johnstone that was mentioned the other day as being a name they'd heard. Apologies I can't remember who posted it originally. Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka. Has scored 11 goals in 27 appearances. 6 in the league. Not exactly prolific but then they are bottom of the league. Was an unused sub at the weekend. Probably cheap so wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
  21. I think there is a player in there with more end product than someone like Dolan. Chances are we will take up the option for an extra year because it'd be silly not to, especially as he will likely be 'the replacement' for Dolan anyway.
  22. Not sure what the standard of 2. Bundesliga is compared to the Championship (probably lower?) but I'm glad he's doing well for his club. I'm not sure it would've worked out for him at Rovers even if he'd had stayed for longer.
