Moran's supposed best position is as a number 10, and he's never getting that role at Rovers. I know he wasn't great against Wrexham but surely Garrett playing in a natural midfield position is a better bet than this. -

Get Fleck on for Moran, the lad's confidence appears to be shot. Sloppy, very sloppy. -

Sounds like its potentially a visa issue, in which case nothing like the O'Brien saga of last January, and it'll mean dealing with a different kind of appeal I imagine. That being said, the lad is at Ewood today. Would be a strange move for him to come along to the game if it really had fallen through. -

Odds on Damien Johnson taking the team for tomorrow? 👀 They could've said he was ill, or they could've said he was busy working with the new signings and preparing for what is a massive game in our season. The fact that they've just said that it's a 'club decision' is worrying. It's the last thing we need right now. -

It definitely has a temporary and quantity over quality feel to the window. We've been severely lacking in numbers all season, so its nice for JDT to have a bit more choice. I do have concerns over some of the incomings though. Has a feel of the 2012/13 season, we had so many loans and short term signings that season, and most of them were bang average. O'Riordan - Good signing, promising young player that I can see the logic of bringing in as it actually makes sense with what we've been told in regards to 'the model'. Happy with this one but not expecting him to immediately start matches. Ayari - Seems to be just a squad player to pad the bench out a bit more. Not seen enough of him to judge but the obvious concern is that he is a bit lightweight and I'm not convinced he's good enough to be starting matches for us. Chrisene - Similar to Ayari. I don't see this lad being a regular starter here. Squad player. McFadzean - Anything more than a short term deal till the end of the season would be poor business, but I'm ok with it as it is. Will only play if its a back 3 though I imagine, so you have to think that's where we are headed. Koumetio - Not a clue. His career so far suggests he's nowhere near good enough and likely to be this seasons Clinton Mola....but hey, Hertha Berlin didn't rate Chris Samba. Clearly another squad player but one that can potentially slot in on the left side of a back 3 if needed. McGuire - Would've preferred a permanent deal. I just have a feeling that this lad will be decent for us and be the focal point we've been missing. Fleck - On paper a good short term deal but I'm not expecting him to start much at all. An experienced head to come on and help see games out perhaps. Concerned over his recent injury record. All of the above points towards another summer rebuild, which we've become used to by now. Of the loan or short term players we've signed, I only see McGuire staying on if Rovers can somehow do a deal with Orlando....that's obviously if he does well over here first and foremost. I expect Gallagher to also go in the summer. Does anyone know if Dolan has a 12 month extension clause? If he does then I expect that to be activated. On paper the squad looks alright at this moment, and when I say alright...I mean good enough to stay in the league. -

Incredibly tough to call how this one goes, it's a must win game for both sides. I'll go for a 2-1 Rovers win. I'm predicting a back 3 and McFadzean to come straight in alongside Hyam and Wharton, with JRC able to move further up into a more attacking role. The left hand side will be interesting. Sigurdsson was ineffective against Wrexham, he needs to be further up the pitch. Chrisene might be preferred if its more of a LWB role. Tronstad and Garrett in the middle picks itself by default at the moment, unless JDT wants JRC more central, in which case we'd probably be looking at Moran on the right. Gallagher, Szmodics and Dolan as the forwards. They all played well against Wrexham, no need to change that unless there's injuries. -

Seeing Adam in that Palace shirt really stings, more than I thought it would. A player who probably didn't want to leave the club but has been forced to to essentially keep the lights on. I can only hope that he returns to the club at the end of his career to come full circle. One of our own and always will be. I'm now left full of dread that we will conclude today with a badly negotiated loan deal for McGuire, this unknown Liverpool youngster on loan and no midfielder incomings. Terrible, terrible times. The club is an absolute abomination at this point. -

Bringing in another young defender on loan who's barely played any first team football....surely we'd be better off taking a 'Gamble' on our own young defenders. -

I feel similar regarding the transfer disasters feeling worse than losing matches. We've all seen Rovers lose plenty of times and it never feels good...but its part of the sport. What we are seeing off the pitch is a level of incompetence that makes me feel embarrassed to be associated with the club. The idea of something you love so much being an absolute laughing stock of its industry is quite frankly upsetting. I don't care if we're Premier League or League Two, all I want is a club that's run solidly by honest people who care. It's the very least that any fanbase of any football club deserves. -

Interesting take from Nixon. Still absolute farce from the club but interesting that he's putting across as the player jumping the gun. Wishful thinking is that a preferred option for a striker has now become available, but I bloody doubt it. -
Venky’s & Waggott Out Protest Ideas
sharpysharps86 replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
A simple protest march or gathering outside the stadium is not enough to be noticed nowadays. That kind of coverage is taken up by the likes of Man United protesting against the Glazers. Regardless of what happens today with transfers, it feels like the only way for the fans to be noticed is to do what Reading fans have been doing and prevent matches from taking place. I don't like it particularly, but this feels like the only way to force the issue. The problem I'm seeing is that I'm not sure how much of the matchday fanbase would be willing to take part in the kind of protest that disrupts a match. -

Can't see us letting Dolan go this month. Maybe in the summer but not now. The club will want to activate that 12 month extension before entertaining offers on him. You'd think that anyway, watch him go tomorrow now 😂. -

I don't necessarily buy into the idea that Rovers will save most of the Wharton money for the summer, but I also see the logic in not going crazy with just over 24 hours left in the window. Now is not the time to take lots of risks on permanent signings. Getting McFadzean in on a short term deal till the end of the season is ok for me. Realistically he'll be coming in as cover, not necessarily a first team starter. For those wondering why we didn't just keep Ayala....I'd imagine McFadzean's terms are less. I'm more concerned that we're going to be very short in central midfield if we don't bring another one in. God help us if Tronstad gets injured. -

Crikey, a 36 year old coming in. If its just to provide cover and strengthen our options from the bench then fair enough. It leaves us with 4 CB's to choose from for now: Hyam Wharton O' Riordan McFadzean -

Looks like Maguire is joining, unless the club manage to make a mess of it. Let's hope he can bang in a few goals and take some pressure of Szmodics. CB, CM and LB please. -

It does feel like letting Trav go out so early in the window is going to backfire massively unless the club bring someone in. How far off is Buckley because he's now somehow found himself as next in line for central midfield should Tronstad or Garrett get injured or suspended. I suppose you could include JRC in the mix but he's needed more at right back at the moment. Too many gaps to plug and not enough time, resources or competence to do it. -

Shame that Wharton is leaving so soon. He hasn't even really had a full season of regular football yet having been injured last season and not really a regular starter until towards the end of the campaign. However, £22million is a good offer for a club in dire need of funds. I just hope that whatever money they get to spend on new players isn't wasted. If Maguire is signing then hopefully he proves to be the missing link up front. Sounds like Gallagher is staying put as well so attacking options of Maguire, Gallagher, Leonard and Telalovic will probably be the case, with Ennis heading out on loan somewhere I imagine. A centre half, left back, and a central midfielder would be nice, but I suspect we'll only manage 1 of those positions at the most. -

I thought Hyam and Wharton were pretty solid last night. With Carter being out long-term, lets hope this is a partnership that can steady us defensively. Failing that, hopefully O' Riordan is up to it. -

Ended up being men against boys, which is exactly what it should've been given the gap between the two clubs. In truth it should've been 5 or 6. Wrexham were always going to have a spell in the game, its unfortunate that they scored during it, but credit to Rovers for nipping it in the bud quickly and promptly. Thought JRC was very good, a calm figure in defence. The fact that he is comfortable playing it out from the back helped us massively. Dolan was lively an Gallagher did well. Sigurdsson and Moran relatively poor, particularly the former. -

Didn't really expect Adam to start this one so not too surprised to see him on the bench. More surprised that we signed a left back who isn't preferred as the left back now that Pickering is out injured. Let's hope Garrett does a good job there tonight as it looks like he'll be filling that role based on that line-up. Moran playing centrally alongside Tronstad as well by the looks of it. Wouldn't be surprised if its Gallagher out wide and Dolan through the middle as well.
