Crazy for the Accy owner to do this over Twitter. I've always appreciated his honesty to a degree, giving insight into how a club is run...but I think he's also always had a vibe of being a touch up his own behind, which I suppose is expected when you're the owner of a football club, and this seems to prove it to a degree. Seems like he's taken offence to the fans having more support for the manager than him. Having said that, the manager and assistant manager shouldn't be speaking to Radio Lancashire about their contracts. The whole thing should be kept indoors. I suppose Holt is simply retaliating in public because his management team went public first. I guess they're all in the wrong. -

Good win yesterday, Cardiff are a much improved side on the last few seasons and they seem fairly well drilled, but I think their manager got it wrong with their tactics as they never really looked like they would exploit Rovers style of play. Having said that, I think the recent changes to our own system have reduced the weaknesses in the side. I thought Tronstad was excellent on the whole in going about his job, and showed he has some good touches. First time seeing him live and I was very impressed, seems to be a big upgrade on Tyler Morton. Hyam and Carter back to their best, which was great to see particularly for the latter. Hill was solid enough, as was Pickering who I thought did a reasonably good job at reducing the danger posed by Josh Bowler. Siggy seemed a bit lethargic, perhaps tired from international exploits. Szmodics had a frustrating afternoon but despite it not being a great performance individually, he never gave up in typical fashion. Great assist from Dolan for JRC who took his goal well...but they were both players that aside from combining for the goal I don't think played particularly well. JRC looked slow in his reactions at times, I can cut Dolan some slack in that he just isn't the guy to be up front down the middle though, he seemed to really struggle off the ball as the 2nd half went on that I'm surprised Markanday wasn't brought on. The disallowed goal could easily have been given on another day, but luck was on our side with this one. We'll have out own share of bad luck as much as good luck throughout the season with the EFL officiating. We've already had some poor decisions go against us this season. Ennis did ok when he came on, I remain hopeful that he and Leonard will do well over the course of the season. Only major disappointment was that I queued for the entirety of half time only to be told that they'd run out and it'd be 5 - 10 mins wait, at which point I settled for a choccy bar 😂. -

If all goes well and nobody comes back injured during internationals then I'd be interested in seeing this starting 11 vs Cardiff. Wahlstedt Hill Carter Hyam Pickering JRC Tronstad Brittain Szmodics Sigurdsson Ennis Cardiff have started well this season. They won't be easy opponents, but it's a game we simply must get a win from to build on the QPR win. -
We are going up (the optimism thread)

With the way Rovers are at the moment there's no reason that we couldn't go on and win the next 3 games, putting us right back up in the mix. We have looked a lot sturdier in the last 2 matches with Hill and Tronstad in particular coming into the side, and Sigurdsson appears to be a bit of a gem, so credit to GB for bringing these 3 into the club. It's great to see some Nordic players in the side again, following in the footsteps of Pedersen, Berg, Olsson, Bohinen, etc. -

Brilliant win. It's about time we put a team to the sword like that. Clean sheet an added bonus. Sounds like Hill and Tronstad were both excellent...great stuff! Sigurdsson becoming a key player in this side already, and taking some pressure of Szmodics in the scoring goals department. -

Same. I wasn't at the WBA game so couldn't accurately judge his performance, but I've been surprised at how little football he's played since then. -

Its a good point on Telalovic. You could argue it helped against Cardiff. -

I'm going to go for a 1-1 draw, although after being the better side against Coventry, this feels like one of those games where everything could fall apart a bit. QPR having not won at home for ages as well feels like a classic Rovers script. After having one unfairly chalked off against Cov, I think Moran will score in this one. The team I would go with: Wahlstedt Carter Hill Hyam Brittain Travis JRC Tronstad Moran Szmodics Sigurdsson -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

I love our style of play when we have the ball. I can't remember the last time Rovers were as easy on the eye in possession. I don't think there's any danger of him getting sacked unless we suddenly found ourselves cut adrift in the relegation zone, which I don't think will happen at any point this season. I do think it's going to be a bumpy season though. -

Got excited when I saw Rovers had tweeted that we'd scored, only to then see it wiped out. I knew what would happen after that, it was seemingly inevitable...as it was last season at Cardiff, and Wigan, and probably a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head. QPR is a must win. Losing to them would be a horrible low given their own problems. I read somewhere that they haven't won a home game for months....just in time for Rovers to turn up, so I'm kind of dreading it. We're probably one of the best sides in the league playing between boxes, but that means absolutely nothing when you're ineffective in keeping clean sheets and scoring goals to win games. On paper this Rovers team is way too good to go down, and realistically I don't feel we will get relegated....but it's going to be a slog of a season based on what we've seen so far. -

2-1 Cov. We have a rubbish record there. I think Mark Robins will have them well drilled in Rovers weaknesses that at the moment are far too easy to exploit. Moran with the goal for Rovers. The team I would go with: Wahlstedt Brittain Hill Hyam Pickering Travis JRC Tronstad Moran Szmodics Sigurdsson -

Whether it's Tronstad or someone else, something needs to change in the middle. Just having an extra body in there would help massively. Having Wharton and Travis both looking to get forward is leaving us massively exposed when we lose possession, there's nobody left to protect the defence, which is bringing about more errors from them. If JDT doesn't rate Tronstad then I'd be looking at chucking Garrett or JRC in the middle to crowd the midfield a bit more, certainly away from home and against the top teams at Ewood. -
Sort of agree on this, but there's loads of clubs out there that seem to value style of play over winning. For example: Southampton bringing in Russell Martin who has arguably been the most overrated manager in the league for 2 seasons at Swansea, flattering to deceive and struggling a lot at times with continuous individual errors...the kind we are seeing with this Rovers side. Maybe it's outdated view now but I've always felt that Mark Hughes and Big Sam's mentalities of sorting the defence out first before figuring out how your team is going to score goals is a better way of going about things. After all, if you're not conceding goals then you're not losing games.

I honestly don't think we are miles off, and a couple of changes and tweaks to the system will have us play with a much better balance. The Pears experiment is certainly over for the time being at least. Wahlstedt will get a run in the team and we'll see how he fares. Can't really cast much judgement on him for today. As soon as the pen was given it was game over. Defensively, I don't know what's happened to Carter but he's struggled in recent games. Did well against Boro but since then he's been a bit of a shambles. Hyam also seems to be struggling to capture the form he had last season. It happens, form is temporary after all. Hill in for Carter perhaps for Wednesday night? I can't imagine Scott Wharton getting the nod at the moment. The other change is that we really need to bring in a more defensive minded midfielder. The obvious choice is Tronstad. Was he THAT bad against WBA to warrant being excluded from starting another league game? It's clearly not working in the middle at the moment so surely change it. -

The score flatters Leicester, but it does call out the obvious that we are a soft touch in midfield and defence. -

Disappointing to be losing and I feel we don't really deserve to be, which is the story of our season so far. Performance has overall been good, but when you commit so many players forward and don't have defensive minded midfielders in the middle then you're always going to be left open to the kind of goal Vardy scored. If it ends 1-2 there is absolutely no shame in losing to what is clearly the best team in this division. At least half their team are comfortably premier league players. Not particularly concerned about league position. We're a mid table side who'll win a few and lose a few. Could do with 4 points from Cov and QPR mind. -

Looks like it could be a very fluid frontline, which has the potential to surprise Leicester. My concern is more the midfield and defensive situation and how open we will likely be throughout this game. With Pears in goal I am not confident of a result at all. -
Luton vs Burnley on Tuesday night is looking like a huge game. Burnley have had a pretty tough run of fixtures to start with, it'll be interesting to see how they do over the next five, playing against more 'beatable' sides.

Can't see anything other than a Leicester win, who seem to be winning most matches without really switching up to a higher gear. I think they'll just be too good for Rovers. I'll go for 1-3 to the away side with Moran scoring for Rovers. -

We'll see where Chelsea are by the time the game comes around, but if Rovers were to play them tomorrow I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was an upset. -

Assuming this was an attempt at a 'joke'. Anyway... Good to see Rovers get the win last night. The Kevin Keegan style 'we'll score more than you' football continues, which is fine when we're on the side of victory 😁. Chuffed to see Moran and Siggy scoring, shame Telalovic sounded pretty anonymous. Another good Cup performance from Garrett as well. How did Tronstad get on? -

I had a similar scenario with the home shirt. In the end I emailed them and then within a couple of hours it had been dispatched. -
Looks pretty bleak for the 3 promoted sides so far: Luton: Was clear from the start of the window that they wouldn't be breaking the bank and have assembled a squad good enough to be challenging for promotion back in the Championship next season. Staying up would be an incredible bonus for them. Not the first team to do this and won't be the last. Sheff Utd: Awful summer window really, losing their best player from last season. Only Hamer coming in seems to be a decent buy there. Burnley: Spent plenty but mostly on younger players from abroad. As a plan to stay up it seems a risky one. Do they have a recognised goalscorer? The gap is no doubt getting bigger. As much as I'd love to see Rovers go up, I'd also dread to think what would happen against some of the top teams in the league 😬😅.
