  1. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/blackburn-rovers-transfers-european-scouting-18925895 'One name that was touted as a left-back candidate was former Hannover 96 defender Miiko Albornoz, but it's to our understanding that the 29-year-old salary demands are excessive, which has put off clubs in the 2. Bundesliga and Eredivisie'
  2. I think that's becoming the realisation. But, I think we'd still concede less with better players in those positions.
  3. Because we only play three in there to effectively cover the width of the pitch we are left exposed time and again on the flanks. No surprise two of their goals come from out wide. Crooke makes a good point in his tweet. We need better defenders but that's only half the story. But we do need better than Bell, he's awful.
  4. Johnson for their first goal. Lazy, useless, soft waste of space Johnson for their second goal. Useless, easily-turned waste of space https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/bournemouth/12070185/bournemouth-3-2-blackburn
  5. How are we doing? Pressing high like the Leicester game? If so is it effective?
  6. Benno's a utility man who should be on the bench. I think the Tony-Bennett love-in is overhyped on here. That could be Because Of You and your post ?
  7. I originally put Evans but, like you say, no idea if he's fit. I'd prefer him to Johnson.
  8. If it is only 10% sell-on for Raya then whoever negotiated that needs their wages docking.
  9. In fairness,, we do seem to have changed the way we play. We've essentially been a counter-attacking team since Mowbray took over (apart from a few spells of shite 'possession' football) but the Leicester game showed we'd adopted a more progressive 'Liverpool' type style (a lot more aggressive than the pass it along the half-way line slowly nonsense we watched last season) You can do better with the same personnel if they are coached better and told to play in a different way. Here's hoping.
  10. Judged purely on the Leicester game I think we looked very good - well drilled and athletic. We obviously have 2 main defensive areas of weakness but if we can sort them before the window shuts we can at least have a bit of hope for a good season. We might even surprise a few 'pundits'
  11. I think it was John Williams who always said a clubs wage bill determined it's final league position. If we finish 15th then that's probably about right. Maybe we overachieved last season ?
  12. Sigh. I posted a link to a table that shows we are about 18th in the league for wages we pay and revenue we bring in. Hence we are in the bottom half of the table when it comes to financial muscle. And the only way we can 'blow' PNE out of the water is because Venky's give Mowbray money and add it to their own debt. Our income/expenditure is exactly the same difference as PNE's without Venky money. We pay £3m more in wages but bring in £3m more in revenue. Waggott was obviously playing fast and loose with the term mid-table, and it was also said in 2018, which isn't the financial year we were discussing. His exact quote was : “I would think we’re probably, league wise, 10th to 16th in terms of wage bills from talking to other clubs" So he wasn't sure and was just guessing. The table provided to you the other week was factual. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16986757.were-mid-table-wages---rovers-ceo-waggott/ That's all you've moaned about all summer. Another exaggeration. The only 'excuse' we've had is financial The window shuts in a month. Very few teams have completed their transfer business. Neil for one https://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/preston-north-end/transfer-market-proving-difficult-admits-preston-north-end-boss-alex-neil-2968046 Irrelevant to the point you were making.
  13. I think old Tone Loco will go for this :- Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Williams Bell Travis Holtby Johnson JRC Armstrong Brereton B'mouth 3 v 1 Rovers
  14. It does matter because your whole beef this summer is that we should be able to compete with everyone in the league financially. We clearly can't yet you don't acknowledge it. I'm glad you finally have.
  15. I'm sure the club would. But the point is, which you won't acknowledge, is that we can't compete on wages when clubs from Saudi/some Championship/Premiership clubs come calling. Bids have been accepted and players have gone elsewhere for better money. That's really all there is to it.
  16. You ignored the point about revenue. There's been nobody in the ground for 6 months. Also, we have made bids and had them accepted, but the players went elsewhere because we couldn't match the wages. Not sure what your continued beef is unless you're still under the false impression we are a big financial hitter in the Championship and can compete with everyone?
  17. Can you be more specific?
  18. Pandemic + massively in debt Who says we can't? The issue seems to be clubs in Saudi can offer far more.
  19. It got Waggott to address the state of the ground and surrounding area.
  20. We'll win or lose. No draw. You read it here first...
  21. Buckley and JRC both have it in their locker. So does Dack.
