  1. The lad's quality. I'm amazed some still don't see it.
  2. They'll need to up that bid to £15m @arbitro?
  3. He's in a band. Heavy Metal Football.
  4. A few are getting giddy on here too.
  5. I hope you and everyone else had a bet. I forgot!
  6. I'm not watching it. Is he playing well?
  7. This is definitely something we need to spend the 2nd half thinking about. ?
  8. There's certain ruthlessness that the team lacks that possibly is representative of Mowbray. He is an idealist, wants his teams to play a certain way, keep possession, control midfield etc. The aesthetics seem to matter as much to him as the end result. In fairness to him he is closer to realising his own style now, as we do seem to control the ball more and we've now introduced the high-press to win the ball back quicker. I think we'll look a lot better this season and play some good stuff. I just don't think it will translate into enough clean sheets to get in the top 6, because I think the same weaknesses will exist at the back.
  9. That comes from the manager and coaches. Set-piece drills until it's perfect. It's the same issues at Rovers for the last three seasons, can't defend crosses, can't defend set-pieces, and exposed down the flanks. Nothing to do with the players, and everything to do with the manager and how he sets the team up. We'll see how we do first 10 games of the season. Hopefully B'mouth was a one-off for this season and we are a lot tighter at the back.
  10. We were the 6th highest scorers in the league last season. That was without Dack for half a season. Goal scoring isn't a problem - it's the other end that we're shite, if you'll excuse the pun. Until we learn to defend we are going nowhere.
  11. Gally AA Dack Dolan I think that might be worth a bash if we had FB's who could cross it to Gally.
  12. The ability of the manager is a huge variable. He has yet to show that he can get the team to defend as a team.
  13. Doesn't really hold any water that argument. Managers get replaced by better managers and suddenly the goals against start drying up and the team starts winning - yet the same players are on the pitch. Mowbray has decided to play in a way that leaves us open at the back. That is just how it is. He will live or die by how that pans out results-wise this season. And nobody would complain we were boring if we won 1-0 every week. That's just a silly argument.
  14. I'm not a betting man so what would I get if I went for 3 or 4 goals in a Rovers match?
  15. Yep, definitely more to it than just personnel. We could have AC Milan's defence of the 90's and we'd still concede a hatful.
  16. We didn't. I read the Millwall defeat wrong! 1-0 to them. We're even shitter than I thought!
  17. Good spot. Hadn't noticed but on the youtube image above he seems to be two places behind the keeper. I think that's him? A young Martin O'Neill leading them out too.
  18. I think there'll be a lot of goals in Rovers games this season. I worry most of them will be in our net. Since we came out of lockdown the goals conceded sequence: 3,2,2,3,2,1,1,3,3,3. 3 goals conceded in 5 out of 10 games. Shockingly poor.
