  1. Yes, they lost regular season games that should have seen them in an automatic promotion spot. They expected to go up via the playoffs. They won't make that mistake again. How are Mercer's figures wrong in this instance?
  2. If you were doing the selling I'd be checking for mileage rollback. Yes,Brentford were defeated. They had, however, been expected to win.
  3. I was using Mercer's figures, the quote that the poster was replying to. Do try to keep up!
  4. Defeated playoff finalists, who had twice defeated Fulham in the regular season. And I didn’t even make that up.
  5. That only applies to other clubs that have had £20m+ to spend and not secured promotion.Preston haven't spent that.If there is one other than us,pray, please tell.
  6. @Stuart No is my answer to your question. It's an Evans contract year. I'd play Evans over Johnson, when fit. JRC is better than Bell. The issue is whether Armstrong plays too deep in which case we lose him as a goal threat and may as well sell him. I'd still expect a 14th place finish. A more riskier formation would put Armstrong up alongside Gallagher.JRC instead of Holtby and Chapman or Mols in the wide left slot. That would leave a back 3. Wharton played in one all last season. Nyambe played in one for Namibia. They both know how to play in a back 3. I reckon that team would score more goals.
  7. The link is https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-player-contracts-transfers-18675251 I included Thompson in the 16. He was included in one squad list I saw for this season.
  8. We've 16 players who need new contracts or 15 walk for free. I can see informal conversations having taken place, but with the uncertainty surrounding our finances nothing will have got done. I can't see how trying to let that many players play for their contracts in the early part of the league season will allow us to get off to a good start. That's assuming the league starts in September and that we are in it. phili set out the money we've had in since June and what we have to pay out and it doesn’t look like near enough. We’ve lost our main sponsor and got slightly more out of another. Mowbray’s been insistent and consistent about keeping the squad together. It really looks like the club won’t sell any players or bring in revenue and Venkys won’t put in any money. That’s what it looks like to me. Kamy, phili and Mercer have all hinted that when an announcement comes it is not going to be pleasant. They have even sugarcoated the hints. However, when it’s to avoid worrying the supporters, there’s no point in worrying; you know that it’s what happens next that matters.
  9. It does along with 15 other squad members. There is a one year option on him.
  10. Team sheet is listed as a flat back 4. Indeed playing on the right of a back three is not CB, at all. I did not make anything up. Tosin wasn't played in his natural position. He was whenever he played thereafter.
  11. Woe is me; second game he played, against Millwall. The only time he did.Subbed.
  12. Yes,first game Tosin played for us. I suspect that was why Mulgrew was sent out on loan. Yes, Cunningham was good signing. His early injury meant we didn't get value out of him, seeing as we were exposed to the shortcomings he was loaned to remove.
  13. Cunningham played 8 games for us. Injured and out for the season. He did not represent good value or money well spent. Mowbray started by playing Tosin RB, playing him out of position like he had with Reed and Palmer.I reckon it took a phonecall from City to tell Mowbray where Tosin was to be played. Brereton had done nothing art Forest for two seasons. He wasn't a great prospect. Gallagher played wide right had done nothing in the 15 games on loan.Nothing to indicate he'd do anything there on being signed £12m washed down the toilet. Nobody but Mowbray to blame. Walton was a late desperation play. True, he could have been a lot worse. Agreed, we had a decent chance of getting into the playoffs - with that team. That we didn't was Mowbray deciding to treat the back 9 as an extended training camp. I do agree with you that the gamble has backfired and we're in a hole. We're relying on players coming good and Dack coming back in the same form he was in before injury. I'm hoping Mercer puts a bet on our being relegated...
  14. I haven't read anything by Sharpe today. After 75% of the teams in the division have signed, at least, a player, a club has to say it's got bids in. Serious bids, I doubt it. Sharpe in his tweets, I did just have a quick look, said we'd know more in a day or two. If nothing happens, the club's just trying to give the impression things are happening, when they aren't.

  16. Yeah, that was the game I posted my ott 'Three and out' comment calling for the sacking of Mowbray in the LT. @islander200You get to demand nothing.
  17. I'm seeing a straw, I'm clutching it! Their debuts, too.
  18. Happy? No. If it's all we've go, hope for the best. We've got Carter. Okay his first goalscoring effort was into his own net, something he shares with both Bruce and Pallister. If he's half the player either of them was, we'll still have a very good CB, Johnson's own goal was more from the Duffy playbook.
  19. @Paul Mani Club has denied any offers have been made. Mowbray has already seen what happened to the money from the Platt transfer. I think he is determined to keep the squad together.
  20. Yes, we've wanted the owners to go in a different direction for years! Fixed contracts probably wouldn't stand up to administration and definitely not in a liquidation. Venkys could try what saved them from administration in 2012 and ask for advanced TV money. Could have already tried and been rebuffed. I think someone posted that the TV money was mortgaged anyway.
  21. The irony is that Mowbray may be the only man standing between us having some sort of team next season and a fire sale of players.
  22. Venkys tried this a few years back. It didn't work then and won't work now. Any money raised from sales of players will go into our account in India and won't come back out. The new model of working is one in which Venkys no longer own us.
