I look at JDT comments about why Travis left Rovers. Travis wasn't playing the role he wanted for us and wanted out.

Your financial point doesn't stack when we brought in Fleck and Ayari in January.

Errrr....didn't we give someone away for a few million in January???

I fear that once more fans understand the new TV deal & the impact on moving fixtures & k/o times, a lot will re-evaluate.

It's crying out for a savvy, dynamic thinking commercial team, who can figure out ways in which to take advantage of the new TV deal with smart ticket offers, rather than merely coming up with ways to defend against it.

Alas, that's something we ain't got.

    Yes they've missed every opportunity.

    Promotion from league 1 - X

    Mid table Mogga - X

    7th place - X

    8th place -X

Just avoid relegation (hopefully) - ?

As Matty said earlier, they simply don't give a flying one. That's the top and bottom of it.

There won’t ever be one, but if we were left with an empty ground, what would it change?

We’ve gone from c20,000 ST holders when they bought the club to probably c6/7,000 next season, so 13,000 lost fans, sponsorship and gate receipts have collapsed, they haven’t batted an eyelid. So why would losing an another 6k ST holders bother them?

They couldn’t give a flying fuck.

In the most succint way, that sums them all up to a tee. Nothing else needs saying.

The EFL and clubs wanted more money from TV rights. If it wasn't Sky Sports it would be Dazn or Premier Sports. Clubs wanted more money cos they thought their TV rights was worth more the current TV deal.

Any TV Company would more games to TV for more money. Fairly simple and understandable point of view.

That's why Clubs are/should lower their ST and match day prices starting with this season. I have posted my thoughts what ST and match day prices. What do you think of those ideas?

Put the finances to one side for a moment.

What do you think of the reduction in Saturday 3pm games? Do you think that's a price worth paying and fair on the match going fan? Or do you think that, once again, the powers that be are simply cashing in and thinking only of subscribions?

For the first time in 30 years of watching Rovers with my 76 year old Dad, he's suggested not going on Saturday and just going for a walk instead and turning his phone off, it's that bad. He's usually pretty pragmatic and optimistic even at the worst time, always siding with the players, but I think that second half finally did for him. After the match we both just stared into space over our pints.

Not felt this low for a very long time, it's a different kind of feeling - think it's the lack of hope or trust in anyone at the club from players to board level, feels like a truly lost cause.

Well said. I've been going on for 49 years, the only time I gave it a swerve was for 3 seasons or so after these clowns took over and potted Big Sam.

I'm so fed up with BRFC and football in general; the season can't end soon enough so I can spend my Saturdays fishing instead. If my daughter wouldn't  threaten me with ostracism, I'd be seriously considering to ditch the ST again next season.

  7. Leicester will probably need at least a point from us to assure their promotion spot, so I'm writing that off.

Let's say we get a point from Coventry.  For us to then go down, Plymouth would 2 points, Wednesday 4 points (due to GD), and Birmingham 4 points.

    All very possible.

I think if we beat Cov, we're safe. But I very much doubt that we will.

  8. Supply and demand. Sky charge what they do simply because the demand is there.

The money swishing around in football is purely because of the armchair viewer. The match going fan is an afterthought to the powers that be; we don't register with them.

  9. Calling something 'the best' is subjective at best, and in the case of Sky and the PL, is done purely as a marketing exercise for the gullible.

I don't watch any PL football at all, mainly because it's on Sky, who in conjunction with the PL and FA, have ruined football for the average punter.

For my non-Rovers football fix, I subscribe to La Liga TV for £8 a month which gives plenty of live matches.  The Spanish game is totally different to what we're used to, but can be just as exciting in it's own way IMO. It's El Classico on Sunday night.
