The problem is I see both of these players/signings who need developing and understanding the British game and how we want play when we signed them. That's the market we are in. We can't afford proven quality players as we can't afford the transfer fees involved or the wages. So you need to find players who have raw qualities but need developing into good players
So why sign Wahlsted and Telalovic then? They have no raw qualities whatsoever.

Oh well. Thought you had had shortlist ready to post..Good job you aren't on the recruitment team then.
I'm glad that someone who thinks Telalovic will come good, that Wahlsted needs a run of games, that Pears was better than TK....isn't on our recruitment team either!

Back down to earth after the cup win.
3-1 Baggies.
-
We'd have to go some to do worse than a combination of Ennis on a 4 year deal, and Telalovic on 3 years.

@ABBEY random question ... are you the same 'Abbey' who used to stand between sections 6 and 7 on the old BBE terrace and cause havoc? 🙂

We're also now paying for a DoF on top of a CEO, which wasn't the case a year ago.

No I wouldn't be signing a keeper in this window. When Pears is fit I would put back into the team and I'm fine with that for rest of the season and next.
I would be focusing on signing players we need. For example a striker who can finish the chances we created.
But Telalovic is 'improving every game' isn't he?

It’s irrelevant what age a player is before they reach their best ability.
He’s been in the country 5 months and hardly had any game time . I’m happy to give him more time. Ideally a loan out would be perfect for him in League 1zWe've no choice but to give him more time.
Some idiot gave him a 3 year deal, and I'd be amazed if another league club would take him off our hands.

They must have sold the bulk of the tickets yesterday.
I bought ours around 6pm on Friday when the seat map thing was showing very few sold.
-
I enjoyed the game yesterday, simply because we won for a change.
You can only beat what's in front of you, as the adage goes, but we played pretty well second half and the football was good watch at times.
The big problems remain and are there for all to see, though. Back in the harsher world of the Championship, we'll continue to leak goals with that novice goalkeeper of ours, our defence regularly gets exposed, and we're almost totally reliant on Sczmodics for goals. I dread to think what will happen should he, AWharton, or Tronstad be absent for any time.

That was scarier than Leo going for a cross 😂.
It certainly made us jump and there was confusion for a minute or two. Was it thrown from outside?
It looked to me like it came from over the back of the Riverside. There was a plume of smoke that way for a few minutes.

What's he meant to do when the LB gets bullied and loses a header?
He half comes out, dithers, goes back, then ends up in no mans land.

If we only sign one more player, it has to be a keeper.

Any hope he’ll improve or just a complete dud?
Both complete and utter duds, I'm afraid.

For those who attended - was there any sign of improvement in Leo?
Nope. He just doesn't command his box, as evidenced by their second goal. It's at the point where our defence probably don't trust him to do the basics.
Same with Telalovic. He's just dreadful.

All these young players coming in...Tomasson must be party to these signings and agreeing to them.
Which brings me back to a point I made the other day and similar which @Tom (I think it was) made yesterday.
Tomasson can't keep making 'inexperience' excuses, if he is indeed giving the nod to these incomings..

To be honest, if you look at Brighton's transfer business in recent years (numerous players bought in for £10M-£20M and then sold on for massive profits within 2/3 years such as MacAlister, Caicaido, Burn, Cucurella, Bissouma), A plan for Rovers to sell players to Brighton could be a real money spinner (as long as we include a sell on fee)
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brighton-amp-hove-albion/alletransfers/verein/1237
Which is fine if we can develop players to that standard.
I doubt that they'd be interested in the likes of Telalovic et al though....

You might want to read the whole discussion. Get back to me when you have 👍
And again.
You constantly insult anyone who has the slightest difference of opinon. All very sad really.

So you wanted us to keep an unhappy player that the manager didn't want and not sign the player he wanted.
Oh wait, we only signed him because he was offered. Cos you'd know that obviously🙄
Keep us updated with the inner workings of the recruitment team. It's enlightening stuff and not at all cringe.
Why do you constantly have the need to to insult people when you reply to them?

Brighton, ironically.
But they do it better than us.
So our supposed playing style and approach to player development/trading is geared towards ultimately selling players to the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion?
That's been well thought through then...
-
Genuine question and one asked in ignorance of the supposed 'style' of PL teams, as I don't watch PL games...
Which PL teams actually play in the same style as what Tomasson is trying to do? IMO, this dictates/defines our 'customer base' for those players who we develop in said style.
ie what PL clubs will potentally buy our players?
-
It's a moot point who's better or worse.
They're both terrible.

I think the gist of it, is that you can't buy WBA tickets in person. You either have to ring up and order, or do it online.

Until recently, I've thought that Tomasson has enough about him to turn it around. I'm seriously doubting my wisdom right now, though; he just doesn't seem to learn at all.
I think he'll just walk out.
