Strange reading of the situation.
JDT and GB wanted Batth in the summer for his experience. Venky's refused to sanction a 2 year deal so he went to Norwich instead.
JDT has consistently bemoaned the lack of experience in the squad.
GB is also responsible for signing players for the future, which I presume this Crewe lad is.
The problem isn't JDT and GB. That much is abundantly clear. After 13 years of Venky's I'm amazed that needs explaining.
In your opinion then, Tomasson isn't on board with the transfer policy?

JDT has publicly said many times the project has changed and Waggott said JDT is ambitious.
It is clear that JDT is not onboard at all. How could anyone think so?
Because he's still here collecting his salary.

If the rumour is true, then I suspect that we'll be shipping someone out, probably Carter, and looking to make a trading profit on the face of things.
I think Sam Barnes' contract is up in June also.

We already had this discussion before Christmas about my predictions
Indeed we did. It still provided endless amusement though.

If it is what the club want and Tomasson is on board with it, then the 'inexperience' excuses need to stop when we lose.

cos I expect a much better performance and us getting back to our attack play which we lack in the last game and I expect a win.
No and others might not but I won't faith in my football team and JDT leading this team forward
You seem to predict us to win every game. I hope that you're not a betting man, or you'd be skint!

Stick another million on top of that, and it wouldn't be far off the mark.

We are missing him obviously, but the form of both the team, and Szmodics has nosedived since Dolan got injured.
He'd be my first choice if I could have anyone back for Hull.
If you had the choice of either Dolan or JRC coming back into the team, you'd pick Dolan?
I certainly wouldn't. JRC offers far more.

The penny must have dropped as suddenly we were playing with pace and intensity and we looked a different team. Also at this time JRC came into the team and added another dimension to our attacking play. JRC has been a huge miss undoubtedly and his qualities might have been the difference in some of those close defeats. Whoever has played at right back since just can't step into midfield like he can and get forward from central positions too.
Hopefully Tomasson can come up with a plan to see this bad period through even if it means temporarily abandoning his principles.
JRC is the biggest miss by far of all the injured players.

I think GB has done very well recruitment wise and is doing a good job. Look at Hirst at Ipswich now, looks a very different player to the one we had here. Why didn't it work here?
I think this summer recruitment has been mixed with Tronstad, Moran, Hill and Sigurdsson been goodish to very good signings, Telalovic and Ennis yet to seen enough to form an opinion. Wahlstedt has made some crucial mistakes but still plenty of time to prove people wrong especially on here
Slight contradiction there, me thinks...

It's not just pace.
It's pace and strength we lack.
-
I think we'll get a result here. Despite the recent run of dross, Tomasson is more than good enough to put a win or two together periodically.
2-1 to the Rovers.

Most of the time I find it boring. Football should be about goal mouth incident, , shots at goal, attacking play etc. it should be getting you out of your seat. If it’s not doing that it’s just tedious.
Spot on.
I think in the main it's dull to watch. If we're lucky, we might get 20 minutes of decent, progressive, attacking football a match.

And that can be said for a load of players at this level, it’s why they are down here.
Nail on head.
On Dolan, he has a good game in every 5 or so, usually when we're away from home and we play on the counter, which suits him I think.
As you say though, he's not the only one.

Which one?

So Moran and Sigurdsson haven't been good signings this summer then?
Moran is going backwards at a rate of knots.
Sigurdsson has done little thus far to show that he's a reliable week in, week out Championship standard player.

Absolutely.
He’s the best manager we’ve had under these morons ownership, I doubt we could do any better, what the hell does these fans expect?
Totally agree with you there, he's done a lot of good things and I've not heard one single call for his head, put it that way.
It doesn't mean that he's beyond critcism, though.

It doesn't mean that they're not entitled to an opinion either.

To be fair he wasn’t even particularly popular when second/third in the league last season never mind now, think it’s more pining for Tone more than anything personal to JDT.
Always the way with rebound relationships.
It's more a case of people judging Tomasson on his own merits.

Not read through the thread so don't know the general gist but me personally i'm fed up of watching such naivety literally throwing games away.
Yes we know the issues with the squad but you have to find a way around that instead of trying to 'Man City. everybody and continually falling short. As iv'e said for weeks now the in game management is non existent and the naivety is now beyond 'young' team excuses it's schoolboy stuff.
We actually chase games we are winning and leave so much space at the back and in wide areas bloody Chorley would exploit that never mind teams with options on the bench.
I'd swap Leo for Vince O'Keefe at this moment in time, he makes Darren Collier look good, come back Stephen as soon as possible.
Finally someone's called it out.
All these comments about 'exciting football', 'getting me off my seat', 'identity' etc are wearing thin with me.
The only football that excites me is winning football.
Tomasson has done a great job in a lot of ways, but he has a massive achilles heel IMO.

I think people would be surprised by the number of fans in the ground who want JDT gone. Had a debate with one guy who wanted him sacked in the morning.
Delusional imo. But crazy how some people close their eyes at the real problem.
Opinions eh?
There are several ST holders guys who sit near me, who go to every game home and away, are 'meh' when it comes to Tomasson.

Even if we had any money, I'm not convinced that we'd recruit well anyway.
Tronstad and Hill aside, our recruitment over the past 2 windows, under Broughton's watch, has been dire.

We dominated the first half, they dominated the second half. We were walking at the end, our legs had gone. Once they equalised quite a few people around me got up and left. I expect they knew what was coming. I said to my grandson at halftime. “ If we’re going to get anything out of this game we’re going to have to score again “.
It's the same story every chuffin' game.
Our ability to see games out is none existant, it's sh!t or bust.
Tomasson needs to learn to take a draw, but I don't think it's in him.

Thank you Simon. I stand by my comments. Try engaging with the guy.
It's not up to the supporter base to engage with him.
Rather, it's his job to engage with us, the 'consumers', especially over something as fundamental as this 'digital' fiasco.
