Just put Pears back in or back Wahlstedt to come good and worked on his weaknesses ASAP.

It would be interesting to see who your keeper signing would be

I have no idea who my keeper signing would be, cos I pay zero attention to players of other clubs, nor do I play computer games.

What I do know through my own eyes though, is that Wahlstedt is a shocker.

    Pears is back very shortly

I would suggested defending properly, mark our opposition players better and putting the ball into the box would be better suggestion plus appoint Mike Sheron as set piece coach or someone

Or perhaps, get in a keeper who has the ability to marshal and organise the defenders in front of him.

There wasn't much wrong with our defence until Whalstedt appeared on the scene.

  3. It shows how low our expectations now are, how badly the club is run, how awful the transfers windows have been under Broughton, and indeed what a terrible signing Ennis is, when we're handing out plaudits to Telalovic for 'working hard'.

Let's be honest here, he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 of any Championship side. It's just wishful thinking on our part that he'll contribute anything meaningful.

Some tripe being talked on here, just for context, thanks to JH:

    1) The budget was slashed mid-transfer window with zero warning from India, all targets cancelled.

    2) Despite claims to the contrary, it was confirmed that there was an embargo on signings in place, which was so strict that it even prevented us signing Batth on a free/low cost short deal from Sunderland even though JDT had identified him as what was needed in defence.

The owners once again have shafted the manager and his colleagues, like they did with Mowbray at the back end of his time here, meddling in first team affairs, like they did appointing Coyle over Warnock, like they did backtracking on promises to Lambert and selling players like Cairney behind Bowyers back.

Nothing improves until those rats sod off.

Absolutely Gav. In the biggest of pictures, nothing will materially change for the better whilst this lot are here.

In the here and now though, and as you've agreed with prior, Tomasson shouldn't be given a free pass for what is an atrocious set of results.

Talk of getting rid him though - for now at least - is premature. I may not personally like his style of football, but I think that he'll turn it around over the next few games. He may have some weaknesses, but he has enough about him. He's proven that.

A 3 man midfield of Travis, Tronstad and Wharton would be really strong as well as allowing the former 2 to harden up our defence and let Wharton roam about with his killer balls.

But that would involved him changing his suicide system so instead we will flog Travis and further weaken an already poor squad.

That's what I'd do - play those 3 in the middle to stiffen things up.

Forgetting the current clown in goal, we have a decent set of Championship defenders and a couple of defensive midfielders to protect them

Yet we keep making basic defensive errors and shipping goals at a prodigious rate.

That's not down to the owners or the management, that's down to the man in the dugout

The players on the pitch last night have more than enough about them ability wise to have got a result.

29th November we beat Birmingham to make it 6 wins in 8 and this place was paying homage to the bloke as the second coming.

29th December many of the same folk now want him sacked.

Game of opinions and all that but I base mine on more than one shit month when we have a squad that’s been left to get into this state.

Tomasson has enough about him to keep our heads above water.

Another shit month though, and the 10 point cushion could then be 5.

But then it's too late to do much about it.

I'd be interested to know if JDT have the choice of signing Telalovic or no one? If so I'd be hard pressed to blame JDT for business like that.

We know for a fact he asked for a striker, got O'Brien instead, then didn't even get him. And none of that was his choice. Do we blame him for that too?

I'd be hard pressed to believe that anyone with any semblence of judgement would have signed Telalovic, whether that be Broughton, Tomasson, or a combination of both.

Well, no it hasn't, because they refused to sanction a 2 year deal for Batth. Have a look at all the players he signed, what's the average age?

And if he only gets young players to choose from, and not the players he wants, he can't really have much influence over transfer policy.

You still haven't grasped it, sorry to say.

How do you know he only gets young players to sign off on? The evidence, as quoted, suggests otherwise.

Venkys are clueless, we all know that. But you haven't grasped the fact that despite this, some of the blame for our poor results is on Tomasson for his tactics, and on Broughton and Tomasson for between them signing poor players.

Are you mates with Chaddy by any chance?

  10. 4 minutes ago, Sweaty Gussets said:

Not sure what your angle is but no, GB has already said that JDT has the final say.

But if JDT is only presented with young players who can increase value, and not the players he actually wants (e.g Batth) because the venky's have said 'no',  then he can't really be blamed for the players he gets told to work with. I think you're desperate to appoint blame to JDT/GB but aren't able to see the bigger picture.  No offence like😉

    My angle is this.

The argument that we only sign players over a certain age has been dispelled (Tronstad, Szmodics)

So if Tomasson does indeed have influence on who we sign, but those players are young/inexperienced, then he needs to stop using 'inexperience' as an excuse every time we get beat.

That was my original point. Not so strange after all eh?

I think you're trying to avert any blame whatsover on our poor results from Tomasson. No offence like.

And I'm perfectly aware what the bigger picture is, thanks all the same.

The transfer policy is not his remit. He's the Head Coach. He's there to coach the players and get results on the pitch. Transfer policy is dictated by the owners, and implemented by GB.

If he wasn't on board with the TP he wouldn't have taken the job. However that TP (project) has now changed due to budget cuts.

I'd imagine, and this is only my opinion, that when the CEO says no contract negotiations have been started with JDT it's because JDT has told them to shove it unless the budget restrictions and Venky's interference on football decisions fundamentally changes.

So we sign players then without Tomassons say-so, yes?

The transfer policy that has seen him short at goalkeeper, right back, left back, left wing, right wing, central attacking midfield and striker? I wouldn’t imagine he’s too keen on it

Having no players is not a transfer policy.

It's having no money in the first place.

My question is rather about the players we actually do sign, and whether he is on board with those.
