It's not just pace.
It's pace and strength we lack.
-
I think we'll get a result here. Despite the recent run of dross, Tomasson is more than good enough to put a win or two together periodically.
2-1 to the Rovers.

Most of the time I find it boring. Football should be about goal mouth incident, , shots at goal, attacking play etc. it should be getting you out of your seat. If it’s not doing that it’s just tedious.
Spot on.
I think in the main it's dull to watch. If we're lucky, we might get 20 minutes of decent, progressive, attacking football a match.

And that can be said for a load of players at this level, it’s why they are down here.
Nail on head.
On Dolan, he has a good game in every 5 or so, usually when we're away from home and we play on the counter, which suits him I think.
As you say though, he's not the only one.

Which one?

So Moran and Sigurdsson haven't been good signings this summer then?
Moran is going backwards at a rate of knots.
Sigurdsson has done little thus far to show that he's a reliable week in, week out Championship standard player.

Absolutely.
He’s the best manager we’ve had under these morons ownership, I doubt we could do any better, what the hell does these fans expect?
Totally agree with you there, he's done a lot of good things and I've not heard one single call for his head, put it that way.
It doesn't mean that he's beyond critcism, though.

Just goes to show that having a season ticket doesn’t mean you understand football…..
It doesn't mean that they're not entitled to an opinion either.

To be fair he wasn’t even particularly popular when second/third in the league last season never mind now, think it’s more pining for Tone more than anything personal to JDT.
Always the way with rebound relationships.
It's more a case of people judging Tomasson on his own merits.

Not read through the thread so don't know the general gist but me personally i'm fed up of watching such naivety literally throwing games away.
Yes we know the issues with the squad but you have to find a way around that instead of trying to 'Man City. everybody and continually falling short. As iv'e said for weeks now the in game management is non existent and the naivety is now beyond 'young' team excuses it's schoolboy stuff.
We actually chase games we are winning and leave so much space at the back and in wide areas bloody Chorley would exploit that never mind teams with options on the bench.
I'd swap Leo for Vince O'Keefe at this moment in time, he makes Darren Collier look good, come back Stephen as soon as possible.
Finally someone's called it out.
All these comments about 'exciting football', 'getting me off my seat', 'identity' etc are wearing thin with me.
The only football that excites me is winning football.
Tomasson has done a great job in a lot of ways, but he has a massive achilles heel IMO.

I think people would be surprised by the number of fans in the ground who want JDT gone. Had a debate with one guy who wanted him sacked in the morning.
Delusional imo. But crazy how some people close their eyes at the real problem.
Opinions eh?
There are several ST holders guys who sit near me, who go to every game home and away, are 'meh' when it comes to Tomasson.

Even if we had any money, I'm not convinced that we'd recruit well anyway.
Tronstad and Hill aside, our recruitment over the past 2 windows, under Broughton's watch, has been dire.

We dominated the first half, they dominated the second half. We were walking at the end, our legs had gone. Once they equalised quite a few people around me got up and left. I expect they knew what was coming. I said to my grandson at halftime. “ If we’re going to get anything out of this game we’re going to have to score again “.
It's the same story every chuffin' game.
Our ability to see games out is none existant, it's sh!t or bust.
Tomasson needs to learn to take a draw, but I don't think it's in him.

Thank you Simon. I stand by my comments. Try engaging with the guy.
It's not up to the supporter base to engage with him.
Rather, it's his job to engage with us, the 'consumers', especially over something as fundamental as this 'digital' fiasco.

We've won the last 2 at home, so I'm hopeful we are turning a corner with home form.
Watford have improved a lot recently, I think this one could be a draw, as unlikely as draws are with Rovers these days.
The team I'd go with:
WahlstedtHill Carter S. Wharton Pickering
Tronstad A. Wharton
Szmodics
Moran Ennis Sigurdsson
Last one, not two.

I would disagree with this point. If the off the field management need to be criticise then I will do it. I have criticised them in recent times overall ST prices, match day prices, lack of tickets initiatives, lack of sponsors around the ground, lack of commercial onus within Rovers hierarchy, etc this
This game should be about growing the fan base, reaching 10k fans on, etc. Not putting any kind of blockage on people attending..
Also people mentioned about saving cost on ticket staff. Given that there is probably a couple of full time ticket staff and non match day you buy them from the club shop anyway so that cost saving will be minimal at best.
Every game should be about growing the fan base.

What gets me the most in all of this, is not providing a grace period for ST holders to claim their own seat. As a ST holder, I find that insulting.
As to the rationale behind this, my guess is that, as with the force to 'digital only', it's being done to alleviate the need to man the ticket office over the xmas week. ie a cost cutting exercise.

I think recent games have illustrated just how important Dolan is to the way we play. At the time of his injury he was in terrific form and linked so well with Szmodics and Moran. The three of them created chances with their quick interplay. Also Dolan led the press in a way that Leonard isn't able to do because he is a different type of player. In recent games both Moran and Szmodics seem to be dropping deeper and deeper and therefore have less impact on the game in terms of attack. Again, it just illustrates how limited the options are for JDT - especially as two of the summer signings Ennis and Telalovic seems well short of the standard required at the moment.
That is true of Dolan to a degree, but IMO he's merely the best of a very bad bunch.

Carrot and stick 101.
Rather than offering the carrot eg 'buy a digital ticket and be automatically entered into a prize draw', they use the stick ie 'you have to buy a digital ticket or you can't come'.
They've not got a commercial bone between them.

Things have moved on, possession is all that matters don't you know?
It's now the 'best league in the world'!!!!!

The jury is out for me. I'm not convinced he has the bottle for week in, week out, English football.

It isn't it is just passing the hassle, expense and alleged carbon footprint to someone else.
Then again that is the whole global charade of netzero anyway isn't it.
Meanwhile to BRFC it's just yet another pathetic save pennies but lose pounds cost cutting attempt.
Exactly this.
The reality is nothing to do with 'being green'.
Bold claims will be made about how much printer ink and paper they've saved thus, reducing their 'carbon footprint', whilst conveniently ignoring the fact that they've merely passed the buck and the cost on.
