  1. The average away following at Ewood seemed bigger this season.
  2. Well it is a bit late for an early bird price, it's April 10th. i reckon prices will be the same as last year £379 with the Riverside at £329 for all. Don't know what this talk of an introductory offer is, in there . if that price is lower than renewals that would be asking for trouble.
  3. Only 9 clubs have played every season in league football. Stoke City, Notts County and of course Accrington have all had spells in non league. No disgrace to have the other 6 clubs beat us to the big 5000, just means we have spent more seasons in the Premiership than them. Aston Villa will probably be next as though they have spent every season in the Premiership they had a couple of seasons in Division 3 when they played 46 games and Everton would have played 42 in those seasons,
  4. Sa that article and there members club scheme seems to be doing well. " Wanderers are also delighted to pass through the milestone of 50,000 Official Club Members following the launch of the scheme less than two years ago." We are treading water only getting higher season ticket numbers once in 12 years and that was when they went into Administration and couldn't sell tickets until October and then their season was cut short by Covid. We need to do what they do just to improve the atmosphere, they had 3000 tickets at a ultra low price £210/229) but the rest were between £269 and £309 and they sold shed loads. They even sold about 1300 after the early bird because they got the ball rolling and people attract people, Their highest post early bird was £399, only £20 more than our early bird cheapest ticket. Swag won't take the risk as he doesn't believe cheaper prices leads to higher sales. He is tasked to get 2,5 million in and he just about scrapes that so deems himself an absolute maestro by shafting the 8500 faithful and charging top dollar because he knows they will pay it,
  5. Interesting site for attendance buffs, the graph for the Lancashire clubs perfectly illustrates the effect of success has on attendances. The attendances in the fifties/early sixties were massive for all the clubs and all had a lean period in the eighties. The cost of season tickets is also highlighted with a big spike around 2010 when we put the prices down to £199. Average attendance for all the Lancashire founder member since the league started in 1888 shows how close the crowds have been with Preston being the worst as they have spent considerably less time in the top flight. Average attendance Aggregate attendance Bolton 17,072 Bolton 42,406,214 Blackburn 16,040 Blackburn 39,587,877 Burnley 14,421 Burney 36,196,423 Preston 13,367 Preston 34,019,951 BTW all founder member and early league members are at a disadvantage for average attendance as crowds were only around 5 to 10,000 for quite a while after the league started.
  6. Done some research for the figures before the early bird schemes. Preston sold 7.557 in 21/22 then around 12,000 in 22/23. This season they extended the early bird for another 24 hours on Saturday and sold a further 300, and are now on 11,300 for 23/24 Bolton sold 10.500 in 21/22 and introduced their early bird in 222/23 , sold 14.300. This season they have just gone past 15.000, So it has been a great success and shows that people attract people. Last season was PNE's biggest season ticket uptake for 50 years
  7. Preston have confirmed they have sold 11.000 season tickets after their early bird offer finished this morning. Not bad for them. They seem delighted.
  8. Haha, , without fail, year after year he breaks the previous seasons record. What a great job he is doing. Fact! ........ check needed
  9. It says 859 fans have yet to renew and 540 have signed up so a net balance of just over minus 300. So if it is 7,300 in total did we sell less than 7.000 last season.? Thought it was more. Very disappointing but not really unexpected.
  10. Yes I did get the Preston figure from Twitter but I think it's about right, they will probably sell a lot before the deadline but maybe not as many as last year. The other figures are from their club websites.
  11. Latest season ticket sales for local clubs : Wigan 3600 early bird finishes 31st May £329 to £349 Bolton almost 15,000, Early bird finished ages ago and they were on 14.326 ) £219 to £309 then £299 to £399 Preston 6,200 early bird finishes 5th June £280 to £380 We will have an idea tomorrow what we are on, I am guessing circa 8.000 £379 cheapest So i think price does matter, about 80% of Bolton sales have been between the £269 to £289 mark , and 80% of Preston sales have been between £280 and £300.. That is the ideal price, Are you listening Mister Swagott
  12. Timescales wouldn't allow for anything too dynamic ? They only had a year from last seasons feedback and the pathetic sales. Next season there is no excuse, With all the extra TV money from the new deal they can afford to make season tickets cheaper, but the extra money will probably go straight to the players pockets unfortunately. As it will at most clubs.
  13. That surprises me, some of their attendances have been 13/14k , must be hardly any matchday tickets sold including away fans
  14. Don't think Preston or Bolton sold that many season tickets last season, Bolton sold 12.070 according to facebook https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bwfc.co.uk%2Fnews%2F2022%2Fapril%2Fearly-bird-season-tickets-thank-you-so-much%2F%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR2RLY5y9drCnXnWGRiVh4M8_kZ5Z-yzfkfiyIBaXSJ9D2n-bwlx3T8aq_c&h=AT29cGNtbI3NL34m8Sqd9NPXWpcK8WEXacewLQ06PflLUCVuER8YWoydHOR_Q3zy3rUmeyQlU-gJMjq-8RIxIlyGcO1wE1j0DAILiP7hrd3whrUX1XLK-wDZt0Dzu0wUyw&__tn__=H-R&c[0]=AT1LuV0x-PZsJOxxnmEx7Gyiec6P-9X_BzfaGP4SXaxG_aEndszpjLZysHBdR8s27WjyLS7DMQECg4zqsM2_ZHI30_RDXuh93bM7sJXwnhd1F3fk6TZcBe29WfhrXfzOIwEYBdDrh_eq7csxESbOR-ii81d5VtEgMChaaXgVJ3lsQ5ooeso
  15. Yes, just had a look at the pricing, goes from £219 to the most expensive of £309 to a new applicant in the top tiers. still £70 less than our cheapest ! Fantastic . astute pricing. The £20 reduction won't make a dent really if you want to attract significantly more.
  16. Bolton have made an extra 1600 tickets available to home fans in the normal away end today. They have already sold 12.000 season tickets for next season and are averaging 18.500 in League 1 and playing good football apparently. I would swap places.
  17. Well not saying much but we had more home fans than both Blackpool (10,000) and Wigan (11000) last week, We had around 13000 when you take away fans out of the equation. I don't think Preston today will get that much more but Burnley fans are saying they have nearly sold out.
  18. He said a while ago the club had pitched for £4 million in season ticket sales in the past , now he says £2.25 million is above the budgeted target. Also why does he keep saying these are just sales only and do not include complimentary tickets.. Did they previously include comps and do other clubs ?
  19. Sounds to me it is £5 off the four Category A games, you still have to pay £25 for B fixtures. And you wouldn't get a category C ticket for £15. Still match day tickets are lower over all even if we did have some strange prices last year. was it £18.62 for one match and £10 against Bournemouth
  20. Our average attendance last season was 13.478 (some sites have it at over 14000 but they include the bogus 30000 plus crowd the club "accidently" announced) Think with the 4 derbies and Sunderland we will average more this season but only through the away followings being more, unless we do really well and ticket prices are reasonable.
  21. You have hit the nail on the head, Some people have said it is not due to price that they haven't renewed but for some people it is. Bolton in their early bird had 3000 seats available at £219/£229 in their North stand lower and those seats are still only £299 now. They also dropped their prices around the board by 25% this season. specifically because of the cost of living crisis. We have no option of a cheap season ticket at all. This hasn't always been the case, I remember being able to get a season ticket around 2015 for £249 and only 3 years ago it was £319 for the cheapest season ticket. You should always give people the option of a low season ticket price even if it is in what is considered the worst view/stand. btw Hartlepool's cheapest season ticket is £380 for division 4 football !
  22. Most clubs have a few thousand seats in the non popular stand at eye catching cheap rates so they can say" Season tickets from*. The Riverside should be £329. At least it still gives people struggling a chance/option to buy one. £399 cheapest seat makes maybes no chances,
  23. According to the papers there were 30428 there yesterday. Venky's will be happy
  24. Bolton's early bird season tickets are perfectly priced with the current squeeze on finances , £219 for the cheapest seats behind the net and up to £299 for the top tiers. We should follow their lead and price around the same, or slightly higher as we are playing at a higher level.
