  1. Especially the one who said he wouldn't be going on Ewood again as long as Pears was in goal.
  2. You've said this before, but there's no doubt that anyone who clearly isn't in favour of a player on here, is obviously more likely to give the same player stick at the match, it goes without saying. I was just making the point that the Wahlstedt itch has been scratched, for this season at least he isn't really a viable option, unless there's an injury obviously.
  3. I could look back and find as many posts as you'd like asking for Wahlstedt to play in front of Pears, many were not fully behind Pears, Kaminski is history,i don't know why you'd bring him up. I'm thinking of this season, there is now no doubt as to who should be in goal.
  4. Nothing against the lad, it was probably too soon for him, and a bad time to get thrown in. It's maybe a good thing going into the run in, at least fans know that Pears is the better keeper and can get fully behind him.
  5. The calls for Wahlstedt to play on here were deafening up until he got in the team. I haven't read one comment suggesting he should come back in.
  6. It's all about opinions, I was in the JW and first half in particular I thought Brittain was really poor,, he did buck up 2nd half. I wouldn't put Gallagher's 3 chances down to missing, more good goalkeeping. Could he really have done any more with the 2 headers?
  7. Small steps with Eustace by the looks of it. The point at Cardiff maybe showed his nous over Tomasson, to rest 2 players, bring Gallagher off after an hour, give someone his full debut, yet still come away with a draw after the first clean sheet in ages, showed his experience in my opinion. Yesterday wasn't easy on the eye, but coming from behind isn't something we do, another notch for Eustace. Norwich were weak in the air,or was it that Rovers were good in that department? More deliveries please, let's find out.
  8. Said at half time, why aren't we putting more balls in the box, they obviously weren't comfortable, especially against Gallagher. Lo and behold, a cracking delivery from Pickering and towering header from Hyam and we're level. You're spot on about Gallagher, well worthy of man of the match.
  9. Good debate guys, the thing that shouts at you is the reliance that we still have on the players Broughton and Co inherited. The shiny new "recruitment" department needs to get its collective finger out.
  10. It's just my opinion, if anyone thinks we could sell Gallagher for £1-1.5 million, sign his replacement for that money(even if it was used), and on less wages, but also be a better player, I think it's for the birds.
  11. He definitely isn't, very few are, but he's worth a lot more than the £1 million, or even £2 million some wanted to accept.
  12. There's no doubt Tomasson suffered from injuries, especially Dolan and Gallagher(who some wanted to give away for a million). I'm not particularly backing Eustace, or having a go at Tomasson, but we need points, however they come. A decent team tonight would probably have seen us off, but maybe Eustace saw it as a chance to rest 2 or 3 whilst still nicking a point? If that is the case, and it certainly looked that way, it's maybe the Championship nous we've been short of.
  13. You've got to take it in context though, we'd taken 5 points from Tomasson's last 11 games, we've taken 5 points from Eustace's first 4. You have to consider the form and morale of the team when Eustace took over. I enjoyed watching some of the football under Tomasson, but we were going down.
  14. Pears, Carter, JRC, Pickering, Hedges, Gallagher and Dolan. Those 7 are in our best 11 if everyone is fit,i don't think anyone would argue, and that's without Travis or Wharton, who would definitely be playing now. There lies the problem, a shiny new director of football and his large recruitment entourage but we're still so reliant on the players who they inherited. I dread to think where we'd be if they'd started their tenure from a weaker position.
  15. Agreed, need to go strong against Newcastle.
  16. Just reading elsewhere, we've taken 4 points from the last 3 games, and 5 points from the previous 11 games, so definitely not terrible. Also nice to come off a derby game with something for a change.
  17. If you mean Fleck, he was sold a hospital pass and had to commit himself. If he'd limped off with a strain I'd tend to agree, but not in this case.
  18. Just listened to Atko on the way back, he said if Rovers play like that every week they'll be fine, and I agree with him. Not pretty, but we'd have taken a point before kick off. Surprised Millar was on the right, but glad he was, Hedges had a good game and kept him quiet. The obvious thing to do with Gallagher is extend his contract, get him signed up now.
  19. Pears, Carter, Pickering, JRC, Dolan, Hedges and Gallagher are still cast iron first team choices when fit, and no doubt Buckley or Garrett will join that list over the remainder of the season. That's without having Travis here(another fiasco). We're still massively dependent on the players who were already here, I dread to think where we'd be if Broughton didn't have those foundations to rely on.
  20. It finished 7th last season, only Hyam made a difference, the rest were already here. The decline of the squad since has been staggering. I dread to think where we'd be if Broughton hadn't taken over on such a sound footing, we all know his hands are tied to a degree, but his recruitment has been sadly lacking despite a large increase in the recruitment staff. Tomasson obviously has questions to answer on how this season has gone, but virtually all the blame is down to the recruitment.
  21. To be fair, the yellow he did get was all down to Hyam, Garrett didn't have much option other than to take the booking.
  22. He inherited a squad which finished 7th, it's the subsequent transfer dealings (or lack of) which has let us down.
  23. It was the same 11 which hammered Stoke first half but fell away 2nd half. No lack of ability at 3-0. As I say, I'll give them the benefit.
  24. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for last night. I don't blame Eustace for fielding an unchanged team, but with Mcfadzean, Dolan, Hedges, Gallagher and Costello all having returned to action recently, maybe it caught up a bit. They closed down well early on last night, but it soon faded. Thinking back to Saturday, we were hanging on a bit second half, thankfully Pears saved the pen. Maybe they were running out of steam even in the second half against Stoke. I'll cut them a bit of slack and hope it was more about fitness, although it was pretty dire.
  25. Got tickets in block Q yesterday afternoon.
