Nobody at the club will care. IIRC JDT said on the interview he did after the window that the players were as frustrated as he is. Hopefully they use that to motivate them, but I imagine the senior pros won't be impressed with the club. -

And that's the rub. Waggott can't moan about ST sales when people don't know when the games will be, especially if they can't get to night games. One Sat 3pm game in 5 months is ludicrous. -

Not really. I'd hope people would be able to see beyond their own circumstances and have empathy for those who can only make 3pm Saturday kick-offs. My mate's disabled friend is one, because his carer can only take him then. -

What's even worse is they were in discussions with Forest and the player for 6 weeks before deadline day. 6 weeks and they couldn't get round the 'complexities' Laughable. -

That's got nothing to do with failing to send off forms, when there is no proof it has happened before. Whatabouttery - the technique or practice of responding to an accusation or difficult question by making a counter-accusation or raising a different issue. -

Videos | rovers.co.uk Great interview. He clearly doesn't suffers fools. I wouldn't read too much into the 'peacocking' as you put it. That's a bloke who's clearly angry and is making sure everyone knows he's holding up his side of the bargain and that he and the players (and the fans) are being let down by those responsible for transfers. -

'We can't answer any questions on that as we're holding an internal review'. It's always a convenient cop-out. -

GB has been in post 7 months. He's already got a summer transfer window under his belt. I'm curious as to why it's only in the last few days that he's identified the 'internal' issues that caused the club to be embarrassed nationally. We signed lots of players last summer and these issues didn't come to light? Could those that see him as a 'breath of fresh air' give me the low down? Genuinely interested to know the rationale. -

Got a link to that. I'm sure the other club involved would have let it be known. And so would the local journo and the EFL. -

More whatabouttery. Remind me the last time we failed to send TWO reg docs off on transfer deadline day and were being publically mocked because of it? And when during that time we had a DoF specifically employed to deal with transfers? I have been paying attention but it must have slipped my mind. -

I'm aware of that but the noises about 'not pointing fingers' and 'moving on' would suggest that isn't happening...and I bet it doesn't. And it shouldn't be some junior staff member that suffers, the resignation of one or more senior 'leaders' should have already been submitted. Meanwhile a young lad can't play competitive football in the UK for 6 months because BRFC are incompetent. He seems to hve been forgotten in all this. The club's reputation is in tatters. -

So you admit it's bad but you can't understand the backlash?? And using whataboutery as an excuse isn't acceptable. They had to process an transfer application for a loan and a transfer. They failed. That has nothing to do with the last decade. We've completed plenty of transfers in that time. We are now a laughing stock. -

Blackburn Rovers to hold internal review into deadline day failings | Lancashire Telegraph Broughton says Rovers will look to address the latter, but conceded the situation could damage the club’s reputation when it comes to transfer dealings. He added: “Of course you worry because ultimately we’ve let down two other clubs and we’ve let down two players with the process. Once the external factors become public there will be some sympathy towards that. “But like I have said from the outset of this conversation, there were internal factors that were under our control. You can’t give other people the ability to rule something out unless you have done absolutely everything in order in your own house. That is the only bit we can control.” Broughton said he couldn’t disclose the mitigating factors that Rovers referenced in their statement until the appeal had been heard, but would in due course. Broughton said he couldn’t disclose the mitigating factors that Rovers referenced in their statement until the appeal had been heard, but would in due course. “I don’t know if we’ll go public and write something on that but I’m very happy to come and have that discussion again and tell you exactly what the two circumstances are and hopefully once you’ve heard that side of the story, you’ll have some sympathy for us,” he explained. “But it is really important, we are not looking for sympathy here with this case, there are internal factors with that and the buck stops with me.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unless the 'external' factors impacted the ability to send a form off in time then all this is just face-saving, and the complete opposite of taking responsibility. Hollow words. The transfer window was a disaster without the LOB/Brierley cock-ups. BRFC's reputation is shredded. How someone isn't losing their job over this is beyond me. -
