  1. Not sold on Murphy after his good league one campaign. Much rather we go for the Series C winger with 7 goals....
  2. Ivory coast did and their replacement won AFCON
  3. A lad at work said there's a leaker on twitter/X and in fairness he's told me the 11 each game so far
  4. If AI is one day going to rule the world, you'd think it might just be smart enough to operate under the Venkys and Waggot at Blackburn Rovers. To put it to the test, below is what it believes we realistically need to get promoted next year. Certainly! Here’s an updated list of potential transfer targets for Blackburn Rovers in 2024, considering financial constraints and restrictions on international signings: ### 1. **Loan Deals from Premier League Clubs** - **Cameron Archer (Aston Villa)**: A talented young striker who had a successful loan spell at Middlesbrough, providing pace and finishing up front. - **Elliot Anderson (Newcastle United)**: A versatile midfielder who has shown promise and could add creativity and dynamism to Blackburn’s midfield. - **Brooke Norton-Cuffy (Arsenal)**: A young, dynamic right-back who could strengthen the defensive line and provide attacking support from the flanks. ### 2. **Free Transfers** - **Danny Drinkwater**: The experienced midfielder is available on a free transfer and could bring a wealth of Premier League and Championship experience to Blackburn’s midfield. - **Scott Dann**: Recently released by Reading, Dann’s experience and leadership could be invaluable at the back for Blackburn. ### 3. **Domestic Transfers (Championship & League One)** - **Chiedozie Ogbene (Rotherham United)**: A speedy winger with experience in the Championship, Ogbene could add width and attacking threat. - **Jack Rudoni (Huddersfield Town)**: A versatile midfielder who has been impressive with Huddersfield, capable of playing in various roles and providing a creative spark. - **Callum Lang (Wigan Athletic)**: A forward who has consistently performed well in League One and could make an impact in the Championship. ### 4. **Scouting the Lower Leagues** - **Jonson Clarke-Harris (Peterborough United)**: Still a prolific scorer in League One, Clarke-Harris could bring goals and physical presence up front. - **Barry Bannan (Sheffield Wednesday)**: A veteran midfielder with excellent passing and leadership qualities, he could control the game from the center. - **Nicky Cadden (Barnsley)**: A versatile winger who has been effective in League One, offering pace and delivery from wide areas. ### 5. **Re-signing or Retaining Key Players** - **Sammie Szmodics**: Keeping their playmaker is crucial; Szmodics’ creativity and goal-scoring ability are key for Blackburn. - **Joe Rankin-Costello**: Ensuring the young defender/midfielder stays will help maintain squad depth and versatility. - **Ryan Hedges**: Retaining Hedges could be vital for maintaining options in the attacking midfield and wing positions. ### 6. **Youth Development and Promotion** - **Jake Garrett**: Promoting young talents like Garrett can provide fresh energy and potential breakthroughs in the first team. - **Ashley Phillips**: The promising young defender should be integrated more into the first team, providing defensive options and learning opportunities. ### Conclusion Blackburn Rovers should focus on a balanced approach to recruitment, combining experienced free agents, loan deals from Premier League clubs, and high-performing players from the Championship and League One. By strengthening key areas like defense, midfield creativity, and attacking options, while promoting youth from within, Blackburn can build a competitive squad for a promotion push.
  5. As a medical leyman it looked like the elbow knocked him unconscious and the huge fall on the neck led to a spinal injury and associated spasms Not good
  6. Putting aside needing certain positions, we need without a doubt physicality or athleticism. We've a lot of good footballers technically. With 5 substitutions allowed, teams with physicality (stronger players or players with more stamina) will wear us down.
  7. Huddersfield signing Lasse Sorenson. We should've been on that.
  8. Really? I rate them, clear football knowledge. Id have them as the next England manager!
  9. It's unfair on Saka but could you go old school Christmas tree with Watkins running for Kane and Bellingham and Foden as 10s. Think a lack of fullbacks hinders width however.
  10. Has BRFCs taken on influencer marketing? Don't you need to finish this with #ad
  11. https://youtu.be/rufnWLVQcKg?si=t0fyci-3gVoQZGkR
  12. I've said before in a match thread. If Pears is an average championship keeper then I'd be telling the lads to shoot from distance 2/3 times a game minimum. If we get some more height in the team too then there's always the chance of a corner from a deflection too.
  13. There's a number of pros who talk (what's talking worth) about how fine the margins are between the national league and even league one. Particularly of recent due to the promotion and relegation process of league two you hear a lot of people talk about how there's 'better' players in the conference than league two. All of that to say, football is extremely fine margins and sometimes professionalism beats talent (look at Connor Gallagher, or our own Sam Gallagher)
  14. I joked about the Gurus in previously pages but perhaps we have taken some divine intervention this summer. If we are recruiting a new Head of Heads, we will have more heads than Brahma The way it's going we will need God(s) on our side to stay up next season.
  15. This is La La land stuff but if we did play 3/5 at the back, with Trent on the right as a wing back. Could Wharton play as a wing back on the left? Passing range from fullbacks would be phenomenal and there'd be a bit more defensive cover.
  16. That was under the project phase, were now in the plan phase (Think that's right, lost track)
  17. This is a proper football manager take, so holding my hands up to it before I start it. But I do think when Kane plays like he did tonight (wanting to drop deep, back to goal, arrive late etc) he could do a job in the 10 role with a Toney or Watkins infront. Somewhat troubles the midfield situation as it forces Bellingham deeper though.
  18. Would you enjoy 3 Serbian giants elbowing you in the head for 90 minutes
  19. Christ alive 4 subs to our 0 and we sun Gallagher on because he tries hard. Mo Farah can run 5kms for fun let's stick him on
  20. Trippier naturally comes inside as does Foden, I'd be bringing some pace on for Foden by the 60th
  21. Saka proving pace is doing well down the right, Gordon brings that more than Foden. Wharton because he's from Blackburn, and Trent isn't called Declan Rice
  22. Very exciting high scoring games so far (until the first half at least) What's the over/under on a poor England performance and a 0-0 bore-athon
  23. The agent for the young northern Irish signing is the same guy who represents Dipepa (sp) at Port Vale. Would be leaning on that a bit myself
