Yeah fair. For a striker playing well should mean a goal at least. Or an assist. Working hard is great and all but we need goals and points. I'd rather he got a deflected goal or a fluke goal by pressing the keeper than yet another goalless performance

what a stat. who is holding the egg to account? imagine if we put that in terms of any other business.. lets say a bakery. i am the shop keeper but not the owner of a bakery.i employed 3 bakers in 1 year and none of them made any bread. they touched the dough sure, they looked at it, they kneeded it but after 30 attempts all 3 bakers made zero edible bread. surely the bakery owners would not be to pleased with me??

Thanks for that. What I don't get is their (GB and co) assumption that r rate xg etc = value of player going up. If a player doesn't score or the team keep losing what is the point of these values? To sell him with an addendum saying if he has good or better players around him he will score but just with us he can't score?

Yeh I recall that. What's this r rate? I don't know how GB etc can compare losing with mins. Who cares if Samir as 5full games if champs experience in a season if he hasn't scored and we keep losing. Who will be interested in buying Samir? A 3rd division club? I guess January and summer sales will give us the reason why they keep going on about developing players..
