We have triggered a £500,000 release clause in the contract of Crewe Alexandra defender Connor O'Riordan. Rovers want to make the defender their first signing of the January transfer window and are favourites to do so. Six other clubs, including four from the Championship, are also tracking the 20-year-old. The Lancashire Telegraph understands Rovers have followed the progress of O'Riordan for a while and made bids to sign him in the summer transfer window. However, they have now placed a bid of half a million to secure his services, with personal terms to be agreed. totally agree we need to remember this. he epitomises how JDT wants us to play. He drives the play from back to front and even gets a few goals. unfortunately he will always get an injury so we shouldnt be depending on him

perhaps that was the 'project' sign players ready for L1 and get them ready this season

got to agree. our current form is dire. can't tinker because there are limited options, so we need to have a different plan. we had 85% possession before they scored and we did nothing with it. can't keep playing the same style without the clinical players to put the ball in the net

It's a statement dropping Leo. How far is it until pears is available? I've not seen Hilton play. Could he be any worse than Leo?

Yeh exactly. I don't think he has lost the dressing room hence my above point about all the contract renewals lately. We need our full strength team back firstly but we also need some investment which isn't likely. "Having no decent strikers to bring in and a dodgy inexperienced keeper doesn’t help too." I agree. Even with pears it was bad but Leo is awful.

Guys let's remember that all these players such as Wharton etc wouldn't have extended their contract all recently if it weren't for JDT or if they didn't have faith in JDT. He is not the problem. Have to remember last season that players like JRC came through under him and got us so many points but we don't have him fit at the moment. He got Dolan playing well now he is injured. He even got Gally looking good for a period before he got injured.

Yeh I agree pal. Someone else mentioned earlier they think he's lost the dressing room. You see what we've got left, the likes of Samir and leo and I'd be apologising for their performances as well

There are quality players out there who can still do the hard man role and tackle with timed perfection. Wether the clowns will locate one and enable us to buy one is another matter. Tronstad has made a fair few well timed but rough tackled this season

Now Christmas is done time to think about the January window and all I can think of is Lewis O'Brien and the fiasco that unravelled. Here's hoping we don't replay that all over again

Exactly!! Mate he is so open with us. He has only stopped mentioning the bloody bus recently. He isn't stupid. He is so honest with us and mentions fans almost every post match interview.
