  1. When your info is from ex employees you have to take it with a large pinch of salt. It's very plausible that under Waggot there were non playing staff that weren't doing much. Waggot leaves and this paves the way for the rest of management to shake things up. This happens at most companies. No one leaves/gets pushed out in these situations and says yes its cos I never used to do much. They have big conspiracy theories. In fact a few weeks back I was chatting to a member of staff at costco, she told me she worked at Asda but she was managed out because one day the EG brothers visited and one of them just randomly looked at her and snarled you wont be staying here. So is it that a whole bunch of players who were too old or weren't signing new contracts as the wage wasn't at the going rate, were defending innocent staff?? Or New guy comes, wants to make a mark. Gets rid of non playing staff that don't do much or aren't great at their job. Thinks he can get rid of all the high earners and replace them with players from Europe?? I'd go with number 2. He's got no prior experience, so chances are this will end badly, but one can hope.
  2. There could be things going on in the background. BUT you're all acting like you haven't seen ex-colleagues who left your workplace or were managed out say "so glad I got outta that sh*thole mate".
  3. What did i say about Chaddy being more on the money than most? 🤣
  4. Quite possible with the one out one in thing going on, maybe we're trying to get rid of pears with a replacement in mind?
  5. You're absolutely right. Shouldn't be posting so late at night after a flight!
  6. So every year much of this thread is full of angry posts about Chaddy being delusional and the fact we're going to be relegated. For the last two years technically Chaddy was right to have hopes of optimism and a good season. If it happens a third time in a row does that make Chaddy right and the rest of the yearly doom mongers and chaddy haters delusional? 🤣
  7. I can't believe my eyes. All I read yesterday is what we shouldn't have said about Travis and today everyones fuming because they won't talk about Travis. We have problems, we have senior players leaving due to low wage cap and/or other reasons and a whole bunch of new players inexperienced in the championship that need to gel and learn how to play in this league. However It's starting to feel like if we win on Saturday a number of posters will be disappointed.
  8. I think there are issues behind the scenes, however the fact they're all going to Eustace isn't a massive indication that they love him and are leaving to be with him, so far he's taken the old men and is due to take Travis who has wanted to leave for a long time but has had no takers. The fact that Dolan, Travis, Tronstad and Hyam were/are all refusing to sign contracts yet had/have no one queuing up to get a bargain, begs the question are they all already being paid over the odds hence why no one wants to give what they want and neither do Blackburn any more?
  9. Tavares, Axel, Miller look like decent buys, De neve is not good enough it seems. We look like a newly put together team, which we are. Montgomery needs to come off as does De neve even though he scored. It's not quite the doom and gloom some are making out I feel, there's potential in a number of the new guys, they all need to gel sooner rather than later however.
  10. Eustace seemed like an arm around your shoulder man manager. His falling out with the hierarchy was obvious, maybe he created an us vs the big wigs mentality within the team. Then when he left and they brought in a manager who seems the complete opposite, it's likely those that had expiring contracts thought I'd rather not be managed by him, I'd rather move on, hence the eagerness to go to Derby with him. This happens at organisations all the time, team loves the manager, together they hate the hierarchy, manager leaves and many of the team are eager to go to his new job with him. The fact that they were so close to the play offs and missed out, probably helped in justifying their love for Eustace and dislike for those above him. It's possible Eustace is stubborn and wants everything his way and that Birmingham saw that and sacked him. It may explain why he was prematurely sacked. It would also explain why he left us so high up for a team so low down. So yes we are a mess, but its quite possible the above is a big part of why none of those with expiring contracts want to accept a new contract. Not saying it's definitely the above, but it's plausible it's part of the reason.
  11. We've been here before..Day before the deadline some exciting names pop up, everyone's discussing whether the big names will be in "addition to" or whether we will stop pursuing other links, whether they'll cause outgoings or not etc..lots of discussion on formations and styles of play. And then....deadline day comes and everything falls apart bit by bit. I really hope this isn't the case but once bitten twice shy
  12. I've read a few times on here people mentioning how it's not worth taking a punt on a league 1 player who is in their late 20s and has had one good season. He's unproven in this league, surely if he was any good we would have seen it sooner etc etc is banded about. Not saying there's anything wrong with those comments. However now many feel SS should have gone for 15m+ based off one good season in the championship. Yes I think he'll do well, but we have to accept only one club was willing to take a punt on him and they had a price in mind.
  13. I wonder if that was what the deadline really was for..Ipswich you have til X to up your bid and get him signed as the prem is where he wants to go. Otherwise we'll listen to Galas offer and start negotiations.
  14. Gent and Gallagher being sold is hopefully Rovers saying we wont let you run your contracts down and go on frees any longer. I'm glad they're finally doing this, it'll teach players that they sign or they're sold before their contract ends.
  15. So here's a thought.. I've been wondering why Suhail and SW would want to tell the owners that they don't need to spend their own money. If this is really the case, why? Then it dawned on me. Say you're in a cushy job, a job you're worried you won't get elsewhere and then you realise it seems the owners no longer want to put any more money in, they're thinking about letting it go. What do you do? You go and tell them you no longer need to worry about the club, we've got it covered, we'll be self sufficient, you don't have to put any more money in. You do whatever you can to convince them to keep the business.
  16. Admins of Facebook groups can see who anonymous posters in their groups are. So as ludicrous as the post sounds, if the admins are saying there may be something to it then there possibly is.
  17. Imagine being a scout and spending all year studying certain players then you're told there was never actually any money to buy them. Or how about spending a year studying players like Maguire and Brierley, only for someone to "forget" to press submit. Now you may understand why scouts are leaving, no point working hard, watching games, videos, stats all year to find players that we'll never buy.
  18. I think JDT lost the dressing room, you could clearly see the tippy tappy football around our own box was very uncomfortable for our players, I think over time it sucked the confidence out of them, especially the defenders. Over time it must have frustrated them. Constantly saying we need players probably didn't help them either. I also think making everyone play most weeks whether they made the first team or not, to keep them sharp, may have backfired and added somewhat to our injuries. Maybe the relief of a new manager will breathe confidence and some hope in the guys.
  19. There was a lot to like about JDT, like his changing the way all levels of the club play, to a specific style. However he has a big hand in this relegation form. As a manager it's your job to motivate your team, shield them from things that would bring their morale down. Ultimately the venkys and the board are to blame for the mess we're in, but JDT and his antics have a hand in all of this too. His interviews from very early on, were not of talking about the club as one team. He'd refer to things as, dont ask me ask whoevers job that is. Silly answers to put Greg and the board under pressure to get him what he wants. He could have kept a unified persona and complained behind the scenes, instead he did it on camera. None of this will have helped the players. Personally I dont think other clubs will be chasing him, who would want a manager who may say something like "we all know this team needs a 20 goal striker, it's down to the scouts and board to find and secure one". Then have the fans blame the board if they dont get one (not saying he said this already, but it's his style). Which board would want a manager who doesn't show a unified front? He's got lots going for him, but he also has a lot to learn.
