  1. You keep referencing rovers….im not defending rovers im merely stating that when a player comes out and does this sit down interview about wanting to play at a higher level etc I don’t think derby is that level that they might have hoped for
  2. I agree with all of the above….my point is Dolan and his agent I’m assuming would have thought there would have been a better offer on the table than one from Derby
  3. I have no doubt we haven’t or we have low balled him this isn’t a defence of rovers this is more a question on Dolan and whilst all players should be confident in their ability to play at a higher level I don’t think Derby would have been on his or his agents radar. I reckon they would have hoped for better in footballing terms. Financially he’s clearly going to be better off so good luck to him
  4. Not disagreeing I’d say that’s a fair assumption but my post is specific to Dolan….his interview about playing highest level and being more ambitious etc doesn’t scream Derby to me…batth and weimann are in their last year/s of football so familiarity would be key
  5. Gregg tried in 2023 and was told no because Dolan went solo and had no agent and then moved to a different agency people are right to jump ship from here I just find it laughable that Dolan in his interviews states about playing at the highest level etc and then moves to Derby….only my opinion of course and at least we get comp
  6. If Dolan goes to Derby it’s just for money I don’t want to hear about Eustace or ambitious owners etc it’s purely a money based decision. We have tried with him for 2 years even Gregg the egg couldn’t get him to sign on
  7. I understand and anyone with an ounce of intelligence should understand other people’s scepticism. See how it works
  8. But fans do have a right to be sceptical any poster on this board could say the spoke to someone and make a story up (not saying you have) and then say sorry not saying who told me…without the source it’s always going to be debated
  9. Well that’s an easy answer chaddy if you take everything at face value then more the fool you….behind the scenes at rovers over this last 15 years and even more so the last 2/3 years it’s been a shitshow so fans have every right to be sceptical and not take everything at face value just because someone says something remember we had Maguire signed promo done and that was even failed
  10. There is your right my point was he would/should have known this before taking the job….as stated it is all for there to see and played out publicly by JDT
  11. Not sure man who responded read the most important bit of my post these managers know what their are getting into at rovers….so Iv little sympathy for any of them
  12. Well not Eustace he wanted to move closer to his family by all accounts. That’s what he has said in all his interviews Iv stated many times on this forum if your taking the rovers job you should have done your research……..the transfer failings / the excuses / the lies / the finances is all there in the public eye and even for a month JDT played it out publicly. So knowing this information and taking the rovers job that’s on them (lies should never be told but it happens often)
  13. For public face a lot say in the public eye they do but just look at eustace and the recruitment team once he left - not overly relevant just that we don’t know
  14. But that’s sort of my point a lot of times at a lot of clubs they aren’t on the same page time will tell with rovers this window
  15. Wasn’t ismael specific just used him as a reference as he’s the current manager it’s the problem with football at the minute with directors of football or whatever fancy title they are given I’m old school in regards to this I think the manager should have full control of transfers in terms of player choice and who they want (within a budget provided) I’m not a fan of we need pace power under 30 then they come back with a list going we like him…I think the manager should have full control over that perfect example at present is Arsenal - arteta wants sesko berta (if that’s his name) wants gyokeres
  16. Argument works both way you can’t confidently say he does either we simply don’t know
  17. We don’t unless your in the room but the argument works both ways posters can’t say ‘that’s not a ismael signing’ based on negative assumption and poster can’t say that’s a manager signing based on blind positivity we don’t know
  18. This was you….i get the concern but not everybody can just be written off
  19. But the margins are so fine look at last season took a win against an already promoted Leicester to stay up….good season this year but that’s not guaranteed going forward the problem is the drop off it’s near boom or bust. I tend to judge when seen in a rovers shirt personally but I do get why there is concern regarding the strategy. We have Travis tronstad Brittain needing renewals and with such a limited budget how are they replaced whether it be this season or next. I’m all for the European market as the English one is inflated but there has to be a level of balance
  20. It’s a pointless debate really derby could easily be better defensively than us given that it is one of Eustace main strengths tactically and Val is a bit more open and expansive which is likely to lead to more goals conceded but you are right in terms of needing another cb that’s pretty vital and obvious
  21. This is on the assumption that batth performs to the same level and bare in mind he will have a new partner also I backed not giving batth a 2 year deal if the rumours are true that Derby have offered 1 then that is a massive loss on rovers behalf but again see above batths form (any players form) from the season before isn’t really relative when they move to a new club
  22. Brum quoted to have offered close to 30k per week
  23. Kapuadi was a non starter to begin with miles out of our finances regardless of how the deal is structured
