  1. Wasn’t ismael specific just used him as a reference as he’s the current manager it’s the problem with football at the minute with directors of football or whatever fancy title they are given I’m old school in regards to this I think the manager should have full control of transfers in terms of player choice and who they want (within a budget provided) I’m not a fan of we need pace power under 30 then they come back with a list going we like him…I think the manager should have full control over that perfect example at present is Arsenal - arteta wants sesko berta (if that’s his name) wants gyokeres
  2. Argument works both way you can’t confidently say he does either we simply don’t know
  3. We don’t unless your in the room but the argument works both ways posters can’t say ‘that’s not a ismael signing’ based on negative assumption and poster can’t say that’s a manager signing based on blind positivity we don’t know
  4. This was you….i get the concern but not everybody can just be written off
  5. But the margins are so fine look at last season took a win against an already promoted Leicester to stay up….good season this year but that’s not guaranteed going forward the problem is the drop off it’s near boom or bust. I tend to judge when seen in a rovers shirt personally but I do get why there is concern regarding the strategy. We have Travis tronstad Brittain needing renewals and with such a limited budget how are they replaced whether it be this season or next. I’m all for the European market as the English one is inflated but there has to be a level of balance
  6. It’s a pointless debate really derby could easily be better defensively than us given that it is one of Eustace main strengths tactically and Val is a bit more open and expansive which is likely to lead to more goals conceded but you are right in terms of needing another cb that’s pretty vital and obvious
  7. This is on the assumption that batth performs to the same level and bare in mind he will have a new partner also I backed not giving batth a 2 year deal if the rumours are true that Derby have offered 1 then that is a massive loss on rovers behalf but again see above batths form (any players form) from the season before isn’t really relative when they move to a new club
  8. Brum quoted to have offered close to 30k per week
  9. Kapuadi was a non starter to begin with miles out of our finances regardless of how the deal is structured
  10. 100% a combination of that along with not having done too much over the summer etc it’s just unfortunate…not great for us mind you but don’t think there’s a big conspiracy behind it
  11. Aerobic testing normally happens in the early days so they have something to compare to mid pre season and then again I’d assume right at the start of the season its just unlucky
  12. It isn’t an exact science like if it is hamstring (just guessing at this stage) you could do all your tests and they come up yes fine but when your running you could overstretch it on a turn or a stride where it’s classed as a ‘strain’ same with groin and quad injuries just happen - there’s no conspiracy to it
  13. More likely to happen early in pre season after being off for weeks Unfortunately it just happens
  14. Yes because you didn’t read my post jumped in and realised you were wrong. Good man
  15. If true I’d say it’s feasible could be hamstring issue in the runs
  16. Re read and come back to me…I said it was a more positive season than the one before
  17. Thinks it common all over we just obviously care more for rovers than anybody else but most teams are getting increased injuries as you have alluded to though most other teams cover that we seem to struggle so we will def need to look at that
  18. Because there’s more demand now rightly or wrongly game is much faster and generally more fitness related as opposed to technical
  19. All that fancy testing is the norm in all clubs happens everywhere
  20. Oh they 100% are just wondering if that injury might stall anything (wishful thinking)
  21. Could be a blessing force their hand in not selling trav
  22. As did on average the whole of the league people here really really missing the point last summer many here said no szmodics equalled relegation as there was no way we could replace his goals nobody could replace 27 goals but what we did was find ways to no be a one man team and having every contribute a bit more than the season before and to me 7 short of that plus 13 points and 12 places better off is a huge success theres a million and one things to be depressed about supporting rovers but to try and push a negative onto a positive season (in comparison to the one before) is just crazy
