JRC was very good in CM under JDT until he got his injury. He looked a real goal threat and made some great runs into the box. I think the role JE has earmarked him for is perfect. Quality player.

JE reminds me a bit of Big Sam/Mourihnio in the way he plays. Very solid with the threat coming from individualism in attacking areas. I think the quality of the winger(s) we sign will be very important to how effective we are going forward. JE is a bit of a throwback in the same way Dyche is.

Apart from Sheff Weds and Bristol Cith games the same back four were better under JE.

I think people forget just how bad our defending and goalkeeping was last season. Literally schoolboy errors nearly every week. We lost so many points from the likes of Leo, Pears and Hyam just giving goals away.

Different manager, different way of playing. I’ve said before that JE is a pragmatist who will build the team around not conceding. That’s been evident since he’s come in. He’s referenced it himself a few times. I think the unknowable is how effective we are going forward because without SS in the last few months of last season we’d never have scored. I’m optimistic we’ll do ok. JE is no mug and may well prove a lot of people wrong this season.

Last season has no bearing on this. I think we’ll do ok. Mid table would be my guess. Eustace is a pragmatist who will make the priority not conceding.

He talks about the experienced players we’ve signed not playing every week and are here to help the group etc. Im guessing the GK and winger we sign will play every week. And if he wants a CM I’m guessing it’s because he doesn’t think there’s enough depth there, which is surprising. Or he doesn’t think there’s enough quality for how he wants his CMs to play. Or either Travis or Buckley are off.

In that video above it’s a worry that they keep saying Big Mak missed some sitters. I think that was the criticism from the Belgian journo/analyst who the LT interviewed when he signed.

Eustace had said SS is his usual bubbly self round the training ground, he doesn’t want to lose him and he may play a part against Derby if he hasn’t left. SS doesn’t strike me as the type to kick up a fuss. JE hinted the deadline to sell is this weekend. Obviously putting the pressure on Ipswich to put up or shut up.

Maybe there is some hope this season, and some new heroes in Blue n White.
