Eustace-ball is very reliant on players in attacking positions having the pace and skill to make things happen on their own. Unfortunately we don’t have those players at our disposal. There’s also a huge difference in the movement up top compared l to when JDT was here. The attacking coaching leaves a lot to be desired under Eustace. Eustace is good at the defensive side of the game (there’s no legislating for dollopers like JRC and Brittain) and I thought we were really aggressive and pressed really well until JRC had his brain fart and gave the first goal away. Sheff Utd struggled to contain us that first 15 mins, but it all fell apart as soon as Dolan or Hedges got on the ball. After the first goal we weren’t as effective but we still matched them for the rest of the half. 2nd half we were shite. January will be pivotal, we need quality up front.

Has the Q&A been reported anywhere? Was it a fans forum event? Did he say anything else of note? If the Puney Tunes are still under a financial embargo come January I doubt we’ll be signing anyone.

We compete every week, we just don’t have the quality of player the likes of Sheffield Utd have. They had Hamer on the bench. He’d be our best player.

There’s not many teams that can do that so it’s something to build on at least.

It’s not low effort, it’s low quality. I made the point when we played Plymouth that they had far better attackers than ours. That’s where we are as a club thanks to Venkys. We have L1 attackers.

Pears isn’t good enough Brittain and JRC are shit at defending. Both are a liability. They gave a goal away each. We need a RB who can defend. Beck is quality. Hyan and Baath were fine at CB and were largely untroubled by Moore. T and T are fine in CM. Cantwell is quality. Hedges, Dolan, Gueye, Ohashi and Weimann just aren’t good enough, and until we sign better attackers we’re going to struggle in the final third. we just don’t have the resources or strength in depth of most clubs in the Championship. Sheffield utd are no mugs and will be in the top 6 at the end of the season. We’ve limited them to nothing really. I think that was a good half. We’ve done every facet of the game really well apart from a JRC howler and L1 players at the top end of the pitch. That will be the story of our season until we can replace the likes of Hedges and Dolan.

Last 2 minutes alone we’ve been in great positions to attack their back line and we fuck it up every time. Lack of quality with final ball or decision every time.
