Where you grew up will probably dictate how much you dislike Preston. I’ve got Rovers supporting friends in Lostock Hall/Brig/Leyland who detest Preston with a passion. Conversely, they couldn’t give a shit about Bolton. Deepdale is also closer to Ewood than t’Turf is. It’s a big local rivalry whatever way you cut it. Preston are massively obsessed with us though as a rule. It’s probably because they’ve not had a good team since Finney retired.

Speaking of which, I encountered a man on a broken down snowmobile in the vast frozen wastelands of the Deepdale Tundra the other day. I’m not sure that’s true. I’ve been on Rovers plenty of times where the team has been getting dogs abuse, especially under managers like Kean when there were players wearing the shirt who couldn’t give a shit about BRFC. Eustace makes a good point. We all want a team we can be proud of, like the team that got a good result at Burnley under difficult circumstances. That hasn’t always been the case under Venkys.
