  1. Interesting piece on 1800s football kits https://www.pendlesportswear.co.uk/blog/football-kit-design-1880s-90s/?srsltid=AfmBOoour5zUDJQ0sV7NKyqaGPOZoWj8rLnzUhJIZCTNLiKhO27jienh I suggested this earlier today on wearing whiteπŸ˜ƒ (rather proud of my own logic πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ) only just found this article too
  2. Blue n White. That's our identity. Honestly dont care for a white one whether it be our first or not. Our closest link with the here and now is to the gentleman in the earliest photo above in Blue and White. The Maltese cross can still be linked to us because they wore it, doesn't matter how they came to wear it Individually, it's still an emblem of our infancy whether it was meant to be or not, it was there and its there in Black and white print
  3. I'd of accepted a quartered shirt with a Maltese cross
  4. Went to Cov away and nipped in their store. The quality of items and stuff in there was world's apart from ours. Had it been rovers items I'd of spend loads in there
  5. Don't forget the "I say old chum" side parting.
  6. Well I'm writing off their blunder I genuinely can't be arsed dwelling on it anymore, the big voices amongst our fan base spoke out and threw a ton of ideas forward to make this not only a memorable occasion but to produce a shirt that will get people excited and wanting to own a piece of history. Theres been nothing in the club shop, the game is Saturday, nothing was even marked anywhere for yesterday, no happy birthday no fk all. Theyve really soured the xelebration completely. if stocks last ill be buying one off @Herbie6590 soon, and marking our 150th in my own way by putting my arse in JW upper and having the day off from all the junk these owners have produced for us. It's our heritage and we should be proud. 15 years is a long time yes but not a patch on our triumphs and heroes that have all come before us. And our first chant on Saturday ought to be "Goin down the Bolton road to see the Blackburn Aces" to honour all the fans over 150 years that wear Blue and White with pride.
  7. A very good point made here on The Blackburn End pod about Saturday. Other pods available πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ”΅βšͺ️🌹
  8. I know, but was talking to a friendly knobber this morning they've around 5-6 injured that may come back into the team and upset the dynamic πŸ™
  9. You could argue that although the club was founded 1875 that they made do with white as it was easier to get hold of and may of cost more to develop a coloured kit especially in quarters, costly workmanship which is why the odd halves makes sense as they just threw them together cheaply. I don't know just throwing ideas 😊
  10. I wonder if wearing colours and the like wasn't a big thing for sports in that day? Such like of athletes and cricket that came around alot earlier and was all white perhaps influenced how sportsmen look?) Did earlier teams like sheffield wear colours? All interesting
  11. Couple of results going our way currently in QPR and Swansea both getting beat sat directly above us
  12. Pure embarrassment and anger at how this had all been handled.
  13. Yea when Toth wasn't proven in the championship. Pears was.
  14. A cantwell return for this would be handy
  15. Super write up Happy 150TH Blackburn Rovers πŸ”΅βšͺ️ Cant think of anything id rather spend my time doing more than supporting the team in Blue n White. Goes without saying my greatest memory will be the realisation of winning the Premier league. Seems like a repetitive story year on year but what a magical time to be alive. The pinnacle of English football, reached by a small cotton town. The pride was like a drug, summer holidays sporting my Rovers shirt felt like I was 10 foot tall, the buzz about the town, people shopping on a Saturday every corner a Rovers shirt and the full kit kids doing a big shop. My first game in the 80s got me hooked, sitting on my Dad's shoulders as we walked down Livesey Branch Road old fellas smoking cigars in front of us before we took to our wooden seats in Nuttall Street, not too far a view from where I sit today in JW Upper. Be proud today of what we have achieved and when the time is right, pass the baton down to others. The Blue and White flame won't go out, unless we let it. 1875 - Forever and ever
  16. I'm going for a 1-1 comeback draw. We need to score first to keep our heads up. Play like we have in last few games though and it's ours for the taking
  17. Eustace returns to Ewood on our 150th anniversary.... Can Rovers extend their run and spoil the party for the Rovers reserves....
  18. Also name one team in the championship that doesn't shithouse to run the time down. Every team does it we hate it when it's against us so fake or not we won πŸ”΅βšͺοΈπŸ”΅βšͺοΈπŸ”΅βšͺ️
