Great summary, I know this is not the point you're making but comparing Broughton and Gestede points to how absurd this situation really is. Broughton was competent and qualified for the role, bore more than his fair share of blame for the actions of these clowns and whose contribution with contracts and player recruitment becomes ever more apparent. Gestede is a glorified intern who'd never dream of a role like this unless it was to take flak for Waggott & Suhail & seems more than happy to do so. You can hear the disbelief at the start of the podcast that someone who was on WORK EXPERIENCE last year is de facto director of football.

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

Nice one Carl. Additionally, I'd be eager to raise funds for a party of willing Rovers fans to travel to Pune for some peaceful, visible protest in the style set by (and coordinated with) the Rovers groups. Would undoubtedly create more column inches here and be highly embarrassing for the Venkys. -

can already smell the 'fans responsible for this performance' being the implication. Give them hell. -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

Nixon's deflections & snark to any Rovers fan who questions him re our situation is beyond farcical. For a journalist who postures to know more than most about what is going on behind the scenes at Rovers, he's not very subtle about who he serves (& it's not the Patreons). Waggott 'supremo' up there with Jim White rant for me. Credit to Elliott Jackson, who for obvious reasons has been reluctant to bite the hand that feeds him in the past, but is stepping up now. Wouldn't be surprised if they're threatening to cut off/reduce his access. -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

agree Neal, I'd boycott home games & merchandise as you suggest and then vocal protests at away games. Ultimately has to be a cohesive & unified approach, building on what's been worked on this week. -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

as many have mentioned on this thread Neal: Glen, Josh and co have now forced their hand in actively refusing the groups' 'respectful' wishes. Cameras on them for the rest of the season. It was their move, and what do you know, they s**t the bed. -

thrown in jail for displaying banners and chanting? Even the Modi gov isn't that authoritarian. -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

That may be the case (and has there been an organised effort since?), but there'd be ways to be disruptive. A Rovers protest at a cricket game in India would arguably have more impact than at a match at Ewood, which says more about Venkys than anything. -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

I'm sure this has been suggested (and protest against this ownership in any form is welcomed), but Venkys are impervious given the geographical distance/bunker mentality. What I do think would hurt them is a targeted campaign in India: billboards/advertising in Pune, banners at IPL games, asking Liam Livingstone to speak out in India (not sure how RCB Challengers would feel about that one). And any attention, a simple message from the fanbase: 1. Steve Waggott goes 2. Suhail goes 3. Venkys fund the club, or sell at the first available opportunity. Clearly they don't care about their reputation in the UK, but I'd be certain they will there. A big ask and would take time, planning and significant resources, but if someone like WATR were to crowdfund for a campaign like that, there'd be no shortage of Rovers fans (I for one) who'd want to be involved. -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
Kernow Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Replying to posts about his sons leaving the academy too, seems very likely him. If it is, I hope it goes a way in correcting some of the anti-JDT (& Gregg) sentiment out there. A.Wharton sold above his head when he wanted to keep him till summer, Travis loaned out by Suhail when JDT wanted bodies, interference from SW and Suhail on Duncan McGuire, offering to resign but being forced to pay out his own exit...events we long suspected, and would come as no surprise to many. Sickens me to think what he might have achieved with proper ownership & leadership. The only thing those crooks Waggott & Suhail have ever been effective at is smearing the manager with a section of our fanbase through client journalism (and have done once more with JE).- 9495 replies

That's the sort of Venkys stooge thinking that make it a distinct possibility. Cheaper than a new head coach...
