  1. In the same bracket as S K imo
  2. In the pen pictures above the cup final goalkeeper is referred to as John Crompton. It should of course be John Crawford.
  3. Not quite! I certainly remember 1946-1950 and in fact have a cousin born in 1924, with a mind as clear as a bell, who could recall snippets of part 2
  4. There won’t be a 200th if this lot stay around much longer
  5. No sorry. Just sent a pm to had.e.nuff as he’s a relative of Harry Healless
  6. Attendances in the mid 80’s were the lowest for all clubs since WW2
  7. I thought Harry Healless would have been listed in this group. Blackburn born captain of the 1928 cup winning team with nearly 400 appearances for the club and capped a couple of times by England
  8. Remember it well. The challenge which broke Mullen’s leg was arguably the worst I’ve ever seen. The referee was Mr Baker from Rugby, he later became a vicar, and was certainly forgiving that day the Peterborough player wasn’t even booked
  9. IF this is true and I certainly hope it isn't, it will be the biggest of dozens of own goals over the last 15 years. It will be rightly condemned and highlighted in the national press and broadcasters, and could well be the nail in the coffin of this toxic regime
  10. And to think the current Middlesbrough FC only came into existence in 1986
  11. Just a theory, but I expect in those early amateur days the players were expected to provide their own kits, and they bought what was available at the time
  12. My recollection is that Reg Blore played as a direct replacement for Douglas and had a blinder. He only played a handful more games and never came anywhere near reaching the heights of that debut.
