  1. He had plenty left over, pity his family thought they needed even more. He and his Trust were at one point thought to be worth around 800 million.
  2. Are you a regular poster on an Owls forum ?
  3. Never change a winning team unless you have to.
  4. I don't expect anything tomorrow other than them leave everything on that pitch which to be fair most of them have for most of this season. We are up against a very good side who have zero pressure on them at home in front of a full house so we need to be realistic and accept everything is against us it's a long shot. Whatever will be will be it's been a big over achievement this season to the backdrop of the usual nonsense associated with this club now under this ownership. Team have done great but been let down again by not having enough to call on when they are flat out so hopefully there's enough left for one big last push. COYB
  5. If there is any nous whatsoever in that building they'd do that as if we did get into the play offs there's an outside chance of Prem footy for Championship prices. They'd shift a few more on the back of that, might even hit the magic 10k figure but no these lot would rather scrape another thousand at a higher price point.
  6. Leeds, PNE and Burnley that's 18k away supporters right there before we chuck in the Sheffield teams and Sunderland. Doubt the actual home fan average is much different than usual.
  7. Said it many times before but this want it to be a small club so it stays within their own limits to run it. A nice comfortable ride and paycheck, don't ask for owners money beyond the minimal and place low expectations on yourselves, bat off fans pressure by passing the buck to the ownership who never speak 'it's their money' etc etc It's one thing not going boom and bust but another altogether holding it back on purpose to suit your own agendas.
  8. They never ever acknowledged that nor did anything to get them back and now to these lot they just look back and shrug. Oh they all cleared off because we dropped out the Prem so they're gone for good.
  9. 600 a day for 3 and a half weeks plus 1200 today, must be on for 15k by now then Yasir lad, fibs notwithstanding 😜
  10. Arsenal eh, now who do we know who supports them and has also been a provider of bodies to BRFC ?
  11. The Leeds comparison just sums them up it's like Burnley going up then one of their officials moaning at fans then using Liverpool as their excuse. How many clubs in this division can get the income of Leeds ? Why didn't he mention Sunderland's budget which probably isn't much different to ours.
  12. That's why they are maybe going to make the most of letting promising academy lads go, an extra income stream if you can up the turnover and find kids to polish at that level then alert the big boys.
  13. I thought that or maybe trying to engineer a move.
  14. Thought it was a bit of a stupid thing to do by Cantwell surely he's not that thick he didn't realise it was mischief making for the sake of it. No need, especially if he's supposed to be your mate. Panicking fans into thinking he was off before weekend is low by anyone's standards but maybe he wants sacking himself.
  15. You can player trade with the academy i believe Gestede said although with his doublespeak i'm not quite sure what he actually meant but it does seem to be becoming part of the 'model.' Sell them to Prem clubs before they even hit the U23s or even U18's never mind getting anywhere near the first team looks to be a new piece of revenue stream. All well and good only if you can secure big fees and a multitude of adds and sell ons whilst imo these sales should always include the first option to loan back. Parasitic agents are the main cause of this they are looking further and further down the scale to peddle their money grabbing trade. Won't be long before 8 year olds are being sold.
  16. Looks like he's stuck in the sponsorship deal as well which is clever of him because it isn't benefactor money they are in fact paying to advertise one of their companies on live tv etc. They'll easily recoup that spend through business and that WILL be against tax on the books.
  17. They had definitely all been sat down with a PR spin doctor to script that lot. '35 million has been provided over the last 3 years' A Kier Starmer esq reply. A) How much and when in the last 12 months ? B When is the next 'investment'. C That's NOT 20 million a season is it.
  18. Sheff U were always big bruising dirty lumps in the 90's.... and so was their team. That away end was great though apart from the thick pillars which if there was a big following and you got stuck next to one you couldn't see much.
  19. So he's not local then ? How did he end up here and who brought him in ? Fan engagement officer or whatever to commercial director in the blink of an eyelid, a bit odd.
  20. Not listened yet so i'll give him the benefit of the doubt however some of the stuff hes tweeted (and deleted) and allegedly said to people doesn't exactly set him apart from Gestede. When you see this kind of thing happen it shows how the inside of the club is still open to anyone he can get a foot in the door and run the place with nothing more than being in the right place at the right time and bowing to the hierarchy. Paul Agnew - PR man to director. Alan Myers - Comms man to director. At least this guy is local.
  21. It's his complete inability and reluctance to manage upwards that has been the main issue. What we've seen in the last few years has confirmed that but even more so before when him, TM and Venus formed their slow journey old boys club. The scenario we are in now he's be actively encouraging that for years hes said so himself enough times, don't ask for money even though it might be available, make yourself look good even if you hold the club back, get payrise/bonus for not asking to increase the budget but still balancing the books. Manage downwards, yes he is good at that no question but he didn't have available to him at Charlton or Coventry what he had here certainly in the earlier years of his reign, his experience is all based round managed decline. Not all his fault obviously but hes hidden away and been accountable for nothing and lets not start on the lies, training ground shenanigans and multitude of players walking for nothing under his watch. Just think where we'd be now with no Adam Wharton and Ash Phillips to sell ? Those two will have brought in c20-25 million when fully paid up, completely saved his and the clubs arse.
  22. We got lucky with him coming the way he did and turning out the way he did it's very very rare that happens these days. Not sure he's so easily replaceable in this climate at all, Poveda, Dewsbury, JRC, Clarkson etc there's a long line we've had/have not fit to lace his boots in terms of all round contribution.
  23. Noisiest bit of the ground is in that corner though and where players tend to head when they score.
  24. Because he knows the income will run out by then so he'll exit stage left before the real nightmare starts.
  25. A can see a scenario in the near future were they just keep renegotiating the Venky logo sponsorship for a few more million upfront then make repayable company loans available against future player sales. Difference being these small loans will have actual repayment terms. We aren't getting 20 million plus from two player sales this summer so yes either a fire sale or they'll quite simply have no choice but to make money available somehow. They might be fine with putting in ten million every two years rather than every year but it's hard to see anything but a difficult future ahead for us. Then Nixon tells us Waggot wants to hang around for another year or so, hmm...
