The Dolan situation is just a rehash of the Lenihen, Nyambe ones, maybe even BBD as how do we know after being low balled 2 years ago he hasn't had a good foreign offer waiting on the table ? They'll offer him a token gesture at the last min then say they bust a gut to keep him and made a 'massive' offer. In reality head office eyes a nice bit if compo and the ability to reinvest 5 of his 8k a week into a loan deal rather than commit to a weekly double figure 3 year contract, then tell India they've cut costs again. Their idea of investment 🤨

Dolan has been no different than any other young developing player at this level in that hes been inconsistent and in and out of form. Difference to the average joes like say Buckley for example is hes had plenty runs of good form and when hes good not only does he make the team come alive he can be unplayable at times. He's got graft and a bit of flair in him which is why he should've been 'Tyed' down a few years ago because despite the obvious frustrating stuff there's always been a match winner there as well. He's unlikely to get a Prem move but plenty Championship clubs will like him he's worthy of any squad in this league.

The shit will simply have to hit the fan at some point unless someone turns into a 20 mill player or they resume serious funding. I see a firesale starting next summer.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Thing is if he has a bit of a bang average WLD style record maybe a bit like TM then that's what they are looking for here. An average coach who'll accommodate young players and loans whilst mixing it up enough to be comfortable in the league and getting value in players via appearances. That is the be all and end all here now everything else is either a little bonus - great first half of season doesn't mean a promotion push it means we won't go down when the weaknesses and injuries kick in. Or it's collateral damage, long losing steaks and odd season fighting relegation. So unfortunately we judge head coaches on the points and where we finish whilst they use different metrics altogether, squad value, youth mins, work under ever reducing costs, cope with angry fans, stay up. -
Yep i doubt they could offer Ty a standard 10k a week plus bonuses contract over 3 or 4 years and a signing on/loyalty bonus due to not knowing wtf will happen beyond the next year or so's guaranteed income.
-
I think the assumption was he's already on 8k and been offered the same which would sum this lot up perfectly. Looks like they have a different ceiling for academy grads that they won't go beyond but will happily throw money at short term signings and loans.

Ah cheers that's him i couldn't remember the name but i do remember my mates dad saying who the bloody hell is that when they were warming up 😂 -
If they'd invested in him when they should have then they'd be looking at a nice fee now plus add ons if there was genuine interest and if not we'd still have a year or two of him to hit his peak. BBD, Rothwell, Nyambe, Lenihen, now Dolan all allowed to walk out of the building for free. Utterly pathetic the whole board need sacking but no doubt to India if they are even questioned they'll lay blame on Mowbray, Venus, Broughton and say this is why we needed Rudy. The COO and CEO are ultimately responsible for all this regardless of whatever other characters might have been involved, the heads of the club should stand to account !

Vaguely remember going there around Christmas time pre Jack and i'm sure we won 2-1, Garner scored and we had a rookie keeper on loan i think. Then i think we won there a time or two in the Prem when the revolution started but after that not much it's certainly never been a 'big game' happy hunting ground. Can't see it changing they'll have a point to prove they aren't a team to sit back at home but you never know with this Rovers team, big test for Ismael. -
He might be on about 4k a week so that's double pay but even so it's practically shoving someone like him out of the door he'd get more at Millwall or maybe even Preston. He's worth a double figure weekly wage imo and it's a proper investment instead of pissing 20k a week away on the likes of Dennis or Poveda types.

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
Tomphil2 replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Odd odd club Brum are they had to drop into league 1, spend record amounts of money and wages for that div in order to become a 'big club' and fill their ground. Averaging similar to us a while ago in the Championship but as pointed out they have hundreds of thousands on their doorstep to draw from every time there is a sniff of success in some form. Brum hardcore fans are sound enough apart from the coin chucking scum but the fly by nights jumping on and off their bandwagon are clowns. Must be the most hated team of all time in league 1 but i suppose Wrexham are grateful for that but i think it's incredibly sad to spend so much in that league and it does the state of the game no favours at all. -
It doesn't face the cameras these days otherwise Suhail would be up there himself scrubbing away.
-
If they've any ounce of sense left they'd be announcing a months extension to the early bird price.

Buckley would be a good league 1 player in a decent team otherwise he's never anything more than a squad man back up player at this level. That won't change i don't think. -
Eustace…he gone…*official*
Tomphil2 replied to jim mk2's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm happy for Eustace in a way but by the same token he did bail out and a lot of Derby fans have shown themselves to be delusional so i'm half hoping they drop. However if Preston dropped instead i'd chip in for a bus parade around Derby for Eustace. One thing you can guarantee with the knobbers is they do second half of the season combustion's better than even Rovers ever do and they argue they are the best run club in Lancs 🤔 -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Has to have a clean slate going into next season now it's only fair whatever happens in Sheffield. I know we say this regularly these days at this circus run club but this really is the most important summer for many years and a bad one you could stick Slott or Klopp in that dugout and it wouldn't end well. Seems to me now the players have bought into him which clearly they didn't for a while, blame for that can be put in various areas the main one being upstairs for allowing another season wrecking situation to develop. I'd keep Ismael and boot those above him ! -

Rudy Gestede - Big Chill podcast Interview
Tomphil2 replied to Eddie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Gestede is naive and ill informed of the true facts his interviews smack of a desperation to look good in the owners eyes not the fans. I still see them at some point sticking in 5/6 mill or so to underwrite the losses when needed in fact they've little choice but to do so. If that's in 6 months they've still saved tens of millions in recent times due to player sales so they'll be reasonably happy about that and not having to match a 20 million injection with a matching bond or pay 20% tax on it. How it goes in future when there are no Whartons to sell is anybody's guess. -

Rudy Gestede - Big Chill podcast Interview
Tomphil2 replied to Eddie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He said the owners a putting money in now when asked are they putting money in now He said STs are the same as pre covid when asked have they put season tickets up. He said 'what is down' when it was pointed out to him the slide since Venkys took over. Need i go on ? As iv'e said repeatedly we all already know the clubs plans re development and sell the rather obvious examples in the last 2 years that have ruined a real promotion chance pre dated Gestedes sideshow. Waggot told us all this in the bus interview a couple of summers ago. -
Thing is when games are shown around the world their logo is flashed around and no doubt the odd comment dropped in about very wealthy family invested 300 million etc. I doubt much foreign and edited highlights around the world touch much on fan sentiment and the language barrier will cover over anything emitting from the stands. Ok it isn't the Prem but the Championship is a well known and growing brand and if advertising wasn't still part of their ideology in owning the club the logo wouldn't be splashed everywhere. They personally keep an invisible profile but their Venky brand doesn't, it's everywhere and how else would you flash it across the world.

Rudy Gestede - Big Chill podcast Interview
Tomphil2 replied to Eddie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Grow up it was you who started the replies to me you're welcome to your opinion i don't need to ignore anyone but untwist your underwear when people don't agree and say so. We don't know what will happen in summer perhaps hes been told there'll be investment hence his cocksure attitude then he can turn around a give us the middle finger 'i told you so'. Time will tell if he's just another patsy swallowing the line hes fed from upstairs or they'll actually let him invest. Either way the 2 stooges have sat back and let him become a new target due to his lack of diplomatic skills and they could have stopped that at any moment.
