Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They never ever get it right i mean go back a few years and look at the combined 12 million they spent on Gallagher and Brereton. What could a good board of directors or DoF have done with that money ? The likes of Warnock got teams promoted on less and this lot got the square root of about 2 mill back from that and not even an appearance in the play offs. God knows how many millions went to Gallagher in wages also yet these complete clowns are still running the show. -

He's a WUM he has massive form for it down the years with Rovers the Pears thing he put out there just at a time he was beginning to get some grief again after performing quite well. The guy is and always has been an agents stooge. -

But to exercise it he's likely to have to overrule Gestede and Suhail..... -

It's already been twisted by Waggot who offered the opinion it was all before my time but there's always this under current that surfaces whenever we have a bad run ! So for me the points WHY we are unhappy needs constantly pushing and that narrative needs writing to head off the 'owners have invested 2/300 million, 20 million a season to keep us going you'd be out of business without them look at Bury look at Bury' Sick of hearing that crap and he and the rest should never ever get away with writing their own narrative. Forget the recent past even there's enough in the last few years to piss off virtually every remaining fan and the catastrophic fall off this season is mostly down to low/poor reinvestment and another good coach liked by fans and worshipped by most of the squad has left due to issues with the people in the background. That is the narrative that needs pushing imo. -
Only time he'll get any appreciation on here is when he is long gone. Being fair to the constant critics replacing him with a budget wouldn't be that hard - calibre of recruitment staff notwithstanding - but replacing him for the cost of a tea bag with a cheap import, academy graduate, piss weak loanee most certainly will not.

If/when the worst comes to the worst do we think for one minute they'd then decide the time was right ? Would they #### they'd raise prices again probably 'we've only got 9k fans so lets have every penny we can from them, we'll not sell 10k even if we halve them'. That bullshit position was taken by them years ago.

Relegation - Audit - reset - target Premier League = Fail Journey, slow build, target promotion = Fail Project, restructure staff & style, target play offs = Fail Avoid relegation, new solid identity on and off pitch, no budget, target play offs = Fail Complete summer rebuild of entire squad by head coach and HoF with zero pedigree of that between them on a 2 million budget =.............. -

Not losing until the end of the season now the play offs are off limits and we have a coach nobody wants would be such a classic Rovers thing to do. -

I'm assuming it's because he's pitched himself cheaper than anyone for a long time however don't be surprised if it isn't that but instead these collection of idiots thinking soley of compensation from another club if he did well. They've got a taste for it now. -

Consider Sheff Weds sold 4 thousand tickets and there was less in the Blackburn end than the DE. Season tickets are always counted in the attendance whether there or not, always have been. -

No way those home turnstiles clicked more than 7 thousand times tonight, no way. Absolutely looking at 9-10 thousand home gates at times next season right back to 1990 levels unless something drastic changes. Their reaction ? Probably sell someone to cover the expected shortfall. -

Pleased for the players their graft in the second half deserved the result but they as much as anybody else deserved the half time rocket from the fans after that first half. Not sure it was anything other than them trying to save themselves from a barracking that made them finally step up. -

Read somewhere recently a comment saying Greg Broughton was going to expose the nonsense behind the scenes but was sacked and gagged before he did. Anyone shed any light on it ? -
We don't miss him because he was never on the pitch however he's is clearly another who was messed about behind the scenes. No doubt by the lord of penny pinching lurking in the shadows. One begins to wonder if he's on commission of some sort. Problem is with this kind of thing despite getting a high earner netzero contributor off the books the way you do it can bite your ass further down the line. Siggy is at another big club now with good players and he's a regular international so chances are at some point a player we are trying to sign asks him about Rovers. 'Good club but run by arseholes, steer clear' might be the response.

If there is still such a thing as a third party at Ewood then iv'e long thought this fella could be it or representing it. Then again he's just most probably the owners stooge who ended up running the show from the background post Singh and terrified of exposure because of accountability. He has to take it now though the cat is out of the bag but there's no way this fella is saying to the owners i think it's best you consider letting the club go. -

These lot obviously made sod all effort to keep him here, Waggots philosophy every time seems to be someone enquires about a pissed off player or coach and they say i want to hear what they say means they're already gone. Or 'in the departure lounge' as he says in between playing snakes and ladders. Sums up the defeatist small time attitude of the whole place but then again a lot of these trips to the departure lounge are being engineered by their present employers if you ask me. -

I don't believe for a nano second Derby were offering Eustace 10/12k a week more than he was on here, a month more maybe and that adds up well over a few years. They already committed half a million in compensation for him although i wouldn't be surprised if there was a nice big bonus attached if he keeps them up. If you were this set of fools here and he was being sounded out with an attractive offer but clearly open to staying you'd say ...look we can't renegotiate right now and we can't confirm what the summer budget will be but we'll meet you half way... ..X amount bonus for finishing in the play offs and XX amount if we go up through those. Make the gamble of staying and turning down a Derby deal worthwhile even if it meant he was still uneasy about staying beyond that. Do we think that was even considered ? Or was the just out of the shadows man by then more excited about the prospect of a big compen payment and bringing in Rudy's cheaper pal who'll do as he is told ? -

i'd heard he was expecting to be asked about a new contract or told they wouldn't be renewing but he got neither. When he pressed about it he was told yeah we'll discuss it at the end of the season...guess what 'When we know which division we'll be in'. He also knew they'd been sounding out other people so i think he just gave up and had his own people putting the feelers out whilst advising some of our own players to leave. All added to ruining the second half or that season and they were all shitehouses imo only concerned about themselves. They SHOULD have been straight with him though after the service he'd given.
