  1. Hopefully the resentment that had built up last season comes back and we can finally force Venkys/Suhail/Gestede et al out. They've managed to quell some unrest over the summer, but this might even wake up the happy clappers. Glen and the coalition need to go all in on pressuring them for removal, and if at all possible we need the Indian Gov to actually take Venkys to court and stop delaying everything; it's the only way out I see.
  2. Peas in a pod though, Gestede is Suhail's puppet
  3. Utter disgrace to end the window and confirmation that the only agenda on Suhail's mind is cutting costs and selling anyone who can/has actually proved to to be a Championship player. Grab bag of unknowns and hope from abroad replacing an experienced spine of a team, Tronstad the last man standing. Some like Morishita look a decent bet, but most should have been in addition to what we had, not replacements for. We are nailed on favourites for relegation this year, no doubt anymore.
  4. Wage cap ensuring we have no player who is experienced or wanted at championship level by any other team; Suhail's masterpiece rebuild continues in the next installment of "Days of Our Rovers"...
  5. Rosler who was a target earlier in the summer wouldn't need an ESC since he grew up in England if I remember right? Flying him in might be an issue.
  6. Selling anyone today (except Leonard) would be a disaster unless the replacement in in the building and signing when we sell. Even then we don't have a good track record on deadline day...
  7. Doubt the loan deal would include a recall clause until January, but certainly next year that will be the plan. If we do shift Hyam today I reckon we'd get a loan and Miller would become the starter.
  8. Youan can play anywhere across the front 3, and we would have Ohashi/Gudjohnson as the starter. Even Kargbo can/has played striker before.
  9. Youan in and Gueye out would be a decent deal if it could be done.
  10. Is it not the case that National League teams can still sign loans outside the window? Or am I misremembering? That's what I had in mind when I said younger guys, because we wouldn't loan our better/older youth to that level.
  11. I'm interested to see who goes out. Leonard sounds about done but Pears will be looking. Younger guys on loan have longer to make moves if I remember rightly.
  12. He'd be behind Ohashi, Gudjohnson and Gueye for us (in theory), for his development he needs regular gametime.
  13. Addendum to previous, we will only sign a new keeper if Pears leaves, otherwise I imagine we will reintegrate him if possible.
  14. If we have managed to get 1m plus for Leonard I am happy with that. Really hope we are not done yet. I would like to get Cadamerteri as new young striker, even if we loan him back to develop as a starter at Wednesday. I really want an experienced back-up English keeper, though this may be something they look at on a free after the window closes and players might accept less. Finally, I would like a top tier loan as well if that's a thing we can rustle up anymore, ideally a winger I think.
  15. LT saying Cadamarteri deal still possible, that's a deal I would like done, and sell Leonard. Happy to have Cadamarteri go back on loan too if we can bring in a loan forward from the Prem as back-up and shift Gueye.
  16. There is truth on both sides of this debate, as with almost everything in life. We as fans do tend to over-react to negative results and have biased opinions on things like officiating (incidentally I also think it has been poor). As Chaddy etc point out we are only 5 games into the season and the new guys are barely settled in the country let alone the squad and it will take some time to see how it all gels. There was far too much optimism on here after the Hull result and the signing of Morishita last week and now we've bumped straight back to doom and gloom. None of this is to say I disagree. I have been deeply worried about the downgrading of the squad over the summer, and indeed the last 15 years, and I think we will be in a relegation battle this year (see the Squad Review thread). I agree with other posters that some of the new guys do not look good enough; De Neve in particular for me looks like he offers nothing. Others, like Tavares, look like they need to settle and get up to speed of English football; in his case, I think he needs a much faster guy next to him to make up for his more languid European style, ironically Travis would have been perfect, but Suhail/Gestede seem to plan for that to be Baradji. Ultimately, until Venkys go we can only watch and comment, things which everyone is entitled to an opinion on.
  17. Leonard and Gueye out for Gudjohnson and Cadamarteri would be an upgrade I think, would be happy if we get that done. Then just need a backup for Toth. Ultimately season depends on all the new guys coming good which is not guaranteed.
  18. I would not be surprised if Leonard was nearly agreed then Pasha tried to squeeze Posh for extra by leaking it to the press via Elliot, and then MacAnthony just said screw you and backed out.
  19. How does Tyjon play for England and Poland at the same time, does he have a twin?
  20. Gudjonson and Smit both seem to be guys who have one good season in 23/24 and then were a bit rubbish in 24/25, neither is particularly inspiring if we want a starter to challenge Ohashi.
  21. Garrett has a torn groin and is out until at least Oct/Nov I believe. Might get a loan in Jan I guess, but yeah never quite kicked on as we all hoped after JDT left. In theory he's a good fit for Ismael, 6'2 and athletic, hard working with some ball playing ability. Next summer will be decision time I think.
  22. Reckon its at 21 for now, plus 3 youth in Michalski, Tyjon and Montgomery. More importantly perhaps all 4 ESC slots are used. 1 - Toth (ESC) Youth - Michalski 2 - Alebiosu 3 - Miller Youth - Montgomery 4 - Hyam 5 - Wharton 6 - Carter 7 - McLoughlan 8 - Ribeiro 9 - Pickering 10 - Tronstad (for now, I think we may be looking to offload if they want another CM) 11 - Tavares 12 - Baradji (ESC) 13 - Forshaw 14 - Henriksson (ESC) 15 - Cantwell Youth - Tyjon 16 - Hedges 17 - Kargbo (ESC) 18 - De Neve 19 - Morishita 20 - Ohashi 21 - Gueye Not going to include Buckley, Pears or Leonard since they seem the most likely to leave. Leaves space for a back-up goalie hopefully, another striker and a couple more if they really want. (Happy to amend if any info is not correct) Edit 1* - Garrett, Barrett and Pratt would need registered if they are to be part of first team; hopefully not..
  23. I suspect he will play on the right, but maybe Ismael is happy to have Kargbo and Hedges as the right wingers? Kargbo played well there versus Hull and before that game Hedges had usually been better on the right too.
