[Archived] Will You Show The Fla A Yellow Card?

Agree with Al, it's just the same stuff over and over again, and there's nothing wrong with saying so. This government hasn't got a clue about sport, I really cannot see anything happening. -

You flipping perv! I'm worried about this one, it's tempting to put some dough on Leicester - what a turncoat I'd be! -
And what's worse (almost) is the cheer-leading on ITV! I'm sure they try to be subtle in their bias, but it shows through so obviously, especially that Tyldesley prat.
-
Can't really argue with any of that.

Puzzling. The Champion's League does a good job as it provides the best matches in the World at the highest level (as opposed to the best matches in the World at the lowest level?) Most of the best teams are in Europe anyway, so any competition that pits them against each other will provide the "best matches". That is why they have the current format, because whichever one they choose they are on a winner, so they choose the format that makes the most cash. I'm not jealous of it, how could I be? I don't organise my own league competition! If you mean instead that I am envious of other teams competing at European level whilst we do not, you're miles out. I've had years of Rovers being in the Second Division, I can accept other teams being more successful, and what is more, I enjoy watching teams like Barca play. What sticks in my craw is the top teams sticking their noses in the trough for ever-bigger bundles of dosh whilst smaller teams go to the wall. And that goes for the Premiership as much as the Champs League, so maybe I'm jealous of teh Premiership too. Ooops.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssss SIR! When I next watch the big clubs get umpteen chances to earn mega-money whilst the rest of our top-flight clubs wait at the table for scraps, I shall remind myself not to be cynical as LeChuck told us to "get over it". And after all, "why should it change" when it caters for the needs of the greedy few and actually provides entertainment once we get to the knockout stages. You'd go down a storm on Question Time mate!

What a shame - wanted Barca to win. Oh well.

Be very careful what you say. I can't believe you actually hate, HATE all 50 of those, it's a very damaging emotion hatred, must wear you out. I mean, hating Trevor Francis for being dour?! FFS do you hate Fosters lager for being insipid? PS: Do you hate Shearer too? He did Ehiogu's cheekbone, which has affected his vision. If you also hated every single arrogant/ dour/ disloyal player/ manager/ director in football you'd have a lot more than 50! Or are you selective in your hatred? -
It's Brett Emerton mate. But yeah, he's cr*p!

But ... how can this be true when all of our resident experts have been demanding his inclusion?! I blame Mark Hughes for Stead playing poorly! -

With you there, Mr C. The spirit of the game has been pushed out by green folding stuff. -

Don't know about exciting. Hughes will have to find a few more cut-price gems in the summer for me to get excited. Reid I'm quite happy with, Stead is worth keeping for at least another season, Jansen is an enigma, but I can't see him staying past May and Thompson is trying too hard, but does have teh talent. Other than that lot, there's a lot fo dead wood about. -

C'mon guys, this tit-for-tat stuff is so boring, what is the point of it? Sad point-scoring, the match is over already! Burnley lost, Rovers won; that's all there is to it. Nothing is going to come from "Your lot are vandals"; "Yeah, but so are yours"; "But our crowd was noisier"; "We couldn't hear it because our lot were noisiest"; how juvenile. We'll end up with a dozen pages of bilge at this rate ... But CLB can carry on posting as he makes me laff! -

I should imagine we will strengthen considerably in the Summer. Not sure how much Burnley will spend, but doubt it will be anything like our budget. -

If they end up winning s0d all (or at least, just the Carling Cup), I will laugh my socks off. Will be in Rome Sunday so not sure if I will see Carling Cup Final, but willing Liverpool to win.

Blimey, the communication problems there must be in teh Longside on match days! "Oi! Longsider!" "Me?" "No, you're relatively_new_longisder_with_underscores! Fool! I want the original Lonsider!" "Who, me?" "No, you're the Original Lonsider! Eff's sakes! Give me the original Lonsider, small "o" in original" "Sorry, he's not here today, had to go to podiatrist" "Cripes, give me Likes Stella Longsider then!" "With underscores?" "Nooooooooooooooo, otherwise I would've said!" -
I agree with you Paul. I think most football fans are decent people, but there's some that have a lot of growing up to do. There's something childishly indulgent about causing trouble at the football. It's behaviour that wouldn't be tolerated elsewhere, but the rivalry seems to be a justification for acting like little hard men.

Amoruso wasn't playing for us then, was he?

I'm still sore about Kevin Dingle Russell getting that lucky rebound off of Bobby.

Nice one speeedie, now you've given me a horrible premonition that we'll get done by Burnley on pens! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgh!
