  1. What sort of material do you play ? Anything I might recognise ?
  2. Players like Wharton come along once in a generation at clubs like Rovers. Even the dogs in the street knew he was worth way more than what we accepted from Palace. The Chicken Chokers strike again.
  3. I look forward to the day when the Chicken Chokers fuck off and we don’t have to go into these games with one hand tied behind our backs.
  4. Who’s to say that won’t happen any way ?
  5. They’ll never have a better chance of staying up. Sheff Utd - dead in the water from day 1, Luton - dogged for 60 minutes in most games but nowhere near good enough to stay up. Everton and Forest with significant points deductions. All they had to do was be better than 3 out of those 4 teams.
  6. The Drifters - Under The Boardwalk
  7. “ The fans are on the pitch, they think it’s all over, it is now ! “
  8. That’s a bit like saying Starmer needs to do a lot better than the current government . Really ? It would be nice if he could, but you need the tools to do the job.
  9. I knew we were going down as soon as we appointed him. Not entirely his fault but all the stars were in alignment.
  10. We paid money for Telalovic ? I’ll see if my old boots are still in the loft.
  11. Mm, he was going great guns a while ago with the youth teams. I had him down as a future Rovers manager/head coach. Then he seemed to get marginalised under Mowbray. Stats man and chief drone pilot apparently. We’d have to see who applies and run a proper series of interviews. If it was between him and Rudy it’s obvious he’s a better bet.
  12. Yeah, I keep getting those two mixed up for some reason I can’t quite fathom.
  13. I did the same when they appointed Coyle. I didn’t watch matches, in fact I didn’t watch any football at all. I didn’t come on here. My only connection with the club was to look at the scores at 5-00 pm on Saturdays and that was it. I’d open my paper in midweek and I’d see we’d played ( lost usually ). To be honest I felt miles better for it. I was much more cheerful and optimistic about life in general. Rovers were making me feel really miserable. I came back when they appointed Lambert and Co. I thought at last it would be a step forward. Of course they ballsed that up in their inimitable style. I’m getting to that point again I’m afraid. There’s only so much shit you can take in your life. The only thing that keeps me interested is my grandson, he’s a Rovers fan and I like to encourage him. If it wasn’t for him I’d have been long gone. This is from somebody who has lived for football and Rovers since 1962 !
  14. I see the skipper didn’t score at all. If you failed to score a try for my rugby league team you had to run around the town hall bollock naked ! I’ve seen players do it !
  15. We need goals from around the rest of the team as Big Sam mentioned in his chat with Sammi. How many did the back 4/5 get ? The centre midfield players ? Any at all ?
  16. Anybody who’s still working at Rovers after 14 years of chaos must be a real glutton for punishment. I’d have gone and got a normal job years ago,
  17. What’s it like having super powers ? Being able to see into the future must be really useful. Or maybe not.
  18. Anybody in that position lives or dies by the signings that they make. Decent recruiters ( for want of a better word ) I would expect to get 50% of their signing right. IE players who significantly improve the existing 11 or 16 that take to the field. A really good recruiter I would expect to get 75% of their signings right. Nobody gets every signing right. I thought Juan Veron would be a great signing for Utd back in the day but he was a flop. I also though David Bentley wouldn’t do much at Rovers, I got that wrong also. Given the mistakes made and less than adequate signings made it’s really no surprise that Broughton has be given the Black Spot. Who replaces him I don’t know. If it’s true that we only have a handful of magic beans to spend I’d suggest Chaddy. At least he’d have a long list of guys we can’t afford to sign. Something to talk about in summer.
  19. What concerns me in all this is the effect it’ll have on the current managerial team. Make no mistake about it if Eustace decides to leave he will have suitors given he kept our heads above water last season. He may even have suitors now who are well aware of the circus that is Blackburn Rovers. We can’t afford to be looking for a new manager so soon after appointing the current one. Just another day in the life of a Blackburn Rovers fan. Utter chaos and turmoil are never far away. I’m just considering wether supporting Rovers is worse than knocking nails through the back of your hand.
  20. How smart do you have to be to know getting in from the sides is a winner ? It’s a defenders nightmare getting turned around and facing your own goal. Who knows where the guy you’re supposed to be marking has gone because you can’t watch him and the ball at the same time. I knew that when I was 12.
  21. Part of his problem was he was still playing like a midfield player when he was playing at centre half. He was too easily drawn to the ball when he needed to stay with whoever he was supposed to be marking. Even Fergie couldn’t rid him of that bad habit.
  22. That doesn’t read well. More disagreements in the camp.
  23. He’ll be better for the circumstances we’ll probably find out selves in next season - potless.
