  1. Maybe you blew it too much. Smiley Face. On a serious note will they be consulted and do you think there will be any "conscientious objectors" ? How would you feel if you were still doing the job ?
  2. I've not seen any comments coming from the officials. Have you heard anything from your former colleagues ?
  3. You could say that. It's like any job - if your heart's not in it don't do it. You'll only make a mess of it. Of course being a former engineer everything has to be bang on for me, I can't help it, that's just the way you get trained. As a told her the other day - If 22 kids out of 25 in her English group pass their English GCE that's a success story. If I'm bolting an engine on an aircraft wing and I get 22 out of 25 bolts in that's a disaster.
  4. I was never a Sherwood fan. A fair weather player.
  5. Oh she is, letters after her name as long your arm, two degrees, one Hons, NPQH, etc etc unfortunately none of them are in decorating.
  6. She's barred from wall papering as well now after her last attempt. I'd gone out for the day. When I got back I saw that right in the middle of one of the chimney breast alcoves the paper butted up at the top and overlapped by an inch at the bottom ! She didn't have a clue about plumb bobs or chalk lines, she just guessed.
  7. I barred Mrs Shoelaces from touching a paint brush ever again after the first time I saw her paint. She ended up with paint all over the place. Too much on the brush.
  8. That'll be a job for your husband then ?
  9. I wasn't his biggest fan. Everybody goes on about that great goal at Wigan but how many of those shots ended up in row Z.
  10. Gallagher had all the skill and a really good football brain - as he's shown over the years- but he was lacking in the pace department. Not such a handicap in midfield but you need it up front. If he'd have had Hoilett's pace you would have had another Craig Bellamy.
  11. " Premier League Star " ? I've never heard of him.
  12. The nearest big club to where we go on holiday in Spain is Granada. Some of the locals are fans but lots are Barca or Real fans. The locals I spoke to rated Rochina when he was at Granada.
  13. Looking at the way the virus affects BAME people disproportionately I would imagine the BAME players in the Prem won't be too keen to give it a go. Given the numbers in the Prem they will be very influential in any decisions regarding a restart.
  14. Our back four will be OK with the social distancing.
  15. Looks like Damien Duff was there in the middle.
  16. I remember watching him play for Australia v England before he signed for Rovers. He played in the old inside right position and he was the best player on the pitch. We never played him there when he came to Ewood.
  17. It's only like any other walk of life - if your attitude's all wrong you'll never get anywhere.
  18. I don't think it was accidental.
  19. I heard him on the radio. He's become an embarrassment to football and to himself. He should have packed it in years ago.
  20. I agree, some got short changed at birth, some get short changed through their life experiences. I try not to be judgmental but I'm not always successful.
  21. Rick Wakeman gave him a glowing tribute on the radio today.
  22. It doesn't look like Fleetwood are planning on re-starting the season any day now. Their pitch was just on the TV news. It's been stripped completely in preparation for re-turfing.
  23. Just one minor point - Ken Furphy joined the Rovers in July 1971. Very enjoyable quiz.
  24. What you need to bear in mind is not everybody posting on here got dealt the same hand when it came to grey matter. Some got short changed. Once you look at things in that light you become more understanding.
