  1. That;s not really a surprise is it.
  2. We should have been in for Grabban. Instead we went for " jam tomorrow " and blew our kitty on an " investment ". I'd have rather had the " Cow " than the "Handful of magic beans ".
  3. I was right in line with that header. How he managed to put that wide I'll never know. He'd half the goals to aim at.
  4. That just shows how stupid they are. Nobody at the club has more influence on the fortunes of the club than the first team manager yet they penny pinch on appointments. At the same time they're quite willing to blow £ 7 million on " investment " players. Absolute fools.
  5. I'd be surprised if we get anything above a pittence for Smallwood or Hart in January. I could see them being loaned out though.
  6. We're not in the right shape physically or mentally. Not just the players but the whole set up. The film I saw of our training left me with the impression that it's all very cosy, everything is done for them they're being spoon fed to the nth degree. Not enough is being demanded of players in terms of real effort and commitment.
  7. On another tack it crossed my mind the other day that Premier League teams are turning the game into a non contact sport. The amount of players that just throw themselves down on the ground in tight situations is getting beyond a joke. What's less funny is how the refs fall for it 9 times of 10.
  8. I wouldn't exactly say that, Arsenal stepped a gear and started playing like a Premier League team in the second half. If Leeds had have been playing Rovers it would have been over at half time.
  9. And athleticism, desire, will to win. organisation etc etc They looked 4 goals better than Rovers at the moment. They just need a finisher.
  10. Compared with Lowe Smallwood looked like Franz Beckenbauer.
  11. We seem to be a centre half factory, I make that Wharton, Platt, Magloire, Grayson, now this lad.
  12. Maybe Mowbray and Waggot could sack each other.
  13. Old saying -" You owe the bank £150 thousand, you have a problem. You owe the bank £150 million and the bank has a problem ".
  14. He's signed his share of flops lately Merc. Gibson, Vydra, Lennon, Brady, Hart, that's just off the top of my head.
  15. Can he tell us which players on current form actually deserve to be playing for Blackburn Rovers first team ? Because I can't think of many.
  16. I agree regarding a lot of Dyche's recent signings. He did well at first but after that he's signed his share of flops. That's what happens when you're always looking out for bargains. You can get lucky but most of the time you are signing players no better that what you already have.
  17. I watched that video that Chaddy posted earlier regarding our new enhanced training methods. It all looks very slick and well thought out but as soon as we take to the field there is absolutely no evidence in our play that any of it is working. I'm not a stick in the mud but there seemed to be a lot of theoretical work and gym work but I didn't see much evidence of us actually playing full size games.
  18. Yes, he'd an immediate impact, if only coming off the bench. Then you think of all the other signings that have just induced a feeling of " He's pretty ordinary ".
  19. When are we going to sign a player that actually gets you out of your seat the first time you see him play ? I remember watching Bohinen for the first time and thinking " What a player " ditto Berkovic. Going back before those two, seeing Alan Wright for the first time and thinking before the game " Bloody hell, he's tiny ". 90 minutes later thinking " That's what I call a left full back ". Several of Mowbray's signings have come with fairly big reputations and they've not lived up to them. So far Holtby is one of them.
  20. Now that's the situation you want to be in - Power without responsibility.
  21. For a really big guy I thought he didn't use his size like he should have done. I got the feeling he was a lightweight when it came to putting himself about. You need let your opponents know that they're in for a busy afternoon, age shouldn't really come in to it. Somebody 6' 4" should be dominating his immediate opponents in the air and apart from jumping with much shorter guys he never did.
  22. What does " passing to feet " exactly mean ? Most of the time you need it passed so you can take it your stride. Being passed straight at you means you have to stand still and wait for the ball to arrive. Sometimes you need the ball passed yards in front of you so you can run onto the ball at full sprint. The run the young full back made in the Rochdale game is a classic example. It was passed many yards down the wing in front of him so he could use his pace to the maximum. From what I've seen at Rovers a lot of the time a player stood still passes to another player stood still who recycles the ball to a third player who's also stood still. That's " passing to feet " but it normally ends with us losing possession.
  23. He should have been aware of Gallagher's lack of progression before he re-signed him. That's a really lame excuse.
  24. The day you let idiots like the Chicken Chokers decide who to sign is the day you clear your desk and say your goodbyes. Some good advice I was given as a young man - " Never, ever, accept a situation where you have responsibility without power ".
  25. He's been injured a lot though in recent years. We can't afford another crock.
