  1. I didn't mind either of those Jim, it was all the glam rock garbage I couldn't stand. Back to the comp. " Duke Of Earl " - Gene Chandler.
  2. " When Will I Be Loved " - The Everly Brothers.
  3. " Long After Tonight Is All Over " - Jimmy Radcliffe.
  4. Brilliant band. Music had died until Punk came along. The early Seventies were a desert until the likes of The Jam exploded onto the scene. Any way, back to the comp. " Around And Around " - Chuck Berry. Audax beat me to it so - " Let It Rock " - Chuck Berry.
  5. " Sally Go Round The Roses " - The Jaynetts. Spooky one hit wonder. No 1 in the U.S. No 1001 here.
  6. " The Spider And The Fly ". - The Rolling Stones.
  7. " The Monkey Time " - Major Lance. Not as good as his " Um, um, um, um, um,um " but still worth a play.
  8. " Sixteen Candles " - The Crests.
  9. Very sad news, I always read his posts with interest.
  10. " Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress " - The Hollies.
  11. " Gary Gilmore's Eyes " - The Adverts.
  12. Disgusting performance by Hunslet Old Boys at Rochdale Hornets in the Challenge cup today. They'd only come to fight ( 1 sent off, two sin binnings ), should have been several more. Our winger was elbowed in the face chasing a kick through in the first minute and it just went on like that, the officials were out of their depth.Their " fans " were rude , abusive and boorish to everyone at our club both before, during and after the game. If that's amateur rugby league you can keep it. They were a disgrace to a great game. I've never seen anything like it in 45 years of watching the game. I'd rather finish with the game than that watch that every week.
  13. Kathy Kirby - " Secret Love " . Showing my age now but I always fancied her.
  14. Good choice Audax, try the original by Harold Dorman. Back to the comp. " Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow " - The Shirelles. All time classic love song.
  15. " Over The Mountains, Across The Sea ". - Johnnie and Joe. Classic Doo-wop.
  16. Bryan Douglas was the best. You can argue about who was No 2.
  17. I don't remember the game collapsing when Wigan got relegated to division 2.
  18. " On The Rebound " - Floyd Cramer. One of the best session pianists ever. He must have played on dozens and dozens of U.S. hit records.
  19. " A Thousand Stars " - Kathy Young.
  20. " Keep On Smilin' "- Wet Willie. This one's worth a play, especially if you're a Rovers fan.
  21. April the 1st was a while ago, you won't catch me that easily.
  22. Yeah, The 13th Floor Elevators, they were good. " You're Gonna Miss Me " is a classic. " Time Is On My Side " - Irma Thomas.
  23. " Cry To Me " - Solomon Burke.
  24. Bruce Hornsby and the Range - " The Way It Is ".
