Prior, Broad, Swann and even Anderson are capable of getting decent scores, I'd be disappointed if we didn't make it over the follow on line. If Starc can make a 60 any of those four can. It's what happens after that. We don't have to win this game, Australia do. However anything over 350 will take some getting batting last.

Going on and off the pitch won't suit the batting side. It's imperative we avoid the follow on and make them bat again.

On another topic how many people thought the guy running into Swann did it accidentally ? I think he could have avoided Swann but chose to take a cheap shot. Not that it did him much good.

What's gone wrong in Australia ? This team could be the worst team ever to visit England. I'm not a tennis buff but I remember, Newcombe, Roche, Laver , Emerson, Goolagong, Margaret Court, even Pat Cash. I couldn't name an Aussie tennis player now.

I read a good story about Walters. Apparently he was notorious for not practicing in the nets but at this point in his career he was going through a bad spell with the bat. He was laid down in the changing room one day when to everyone's amazement he got up and announced " I think I'll have a practice ". With that he walked over to the dart board, threw three double twenties said " That's better " and laid back down again !

Tired bowlers ( don't forget we've only got four ). Not wanting to bat last on a sun baked track that is already starting to have variable bounce. All in all the right decision in my view.
