v Plymouth Argyle (h) - 09/03/2024

Sheff Weds have won 4 on the bounce, they'll be backed by an impressive vocal following. I'd be amazed if we get anything off them unless something changes drastically 😕 -

You don't seriously believe anything Mercer comes out with surely? Just his usual made up guff, law of averages say he'll get 1 thing right eventually I suppose. -

They're on the back of 2 impressive wins, we're in free fall, very difficult to see a positive outcome I'm afraid. -

It'd take a pretty disturbed individual to want to watch extended highlights back of that 😵 -

Absolutely dreadful, but not surprising. If some tit comes out and says they were tired, ban them. Newcastle won 3-0. Swansea didn't help tbh, awful, boring, static, time wasting cunts. Alas, they now go above us. -

Hasn't he scored a few when he's played for the reserves? Might have just been friendlies actually I can't remember. Just seems a bit odd if he's not being used anywhere, he could of course be injured though. -

What exactly is the plan for Telalovic then, or is he injured? If he's not then surely he's better off playing reserve team football? -

I'm 42 and train 5 or 6 times a week and like an ale too, so there's definitely no excuse for <40 year old pros! -

Looks like Gilsenan will be in the squad, he's not with the 21's... -

You don't have tired legs 4 days after, particularly as a professional sportsman. DOMS would be at their worst today so I imagine it was a relatively light training session. Ramp it up tomorrow and good to go on Saturday. Unless players are carrying injuries, then it's a bit different. -
Vale has got to be one of the biggest disappointments in years, really thought we might be onto something when hw was scoring regularly for the reserves. He never really did much for the first team or even on loans spells though elsewhere. A goal scorer that comes through the academy would be that extra bit special but it never seems to happen. Every time Gilsenan isn't included for the first team you see countless comments on social media asking why, from people who've barely seen him play. I haven't seen much of him either but something can't be quite right if he's constantly overlooked surely?

Sam Szmodics-Your thoughts?
Ossydave replied to BRFC4EVA's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Wasn't a hammy, it looked to be a groin if anything. However, there's also talk that he simply took a bang to the bollocks and was adjusting himself. Let's hope it was the latter. -
The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.

The Wigan game went a long way to tarnishing his reputation and many have found it hard to forget even now! I think last night probably went some way to setting the record straight though, just a shame he couldn't be the ultimate hero in a shootout win. He's been bob on since his return from injury to be fair and I dare say we would have conceded more under Leo, who simply needed to come out of the firing line - Hopefully he can recover from his torrid time. -
Genuinely think that's the best game I've watched in a long time, alright I'm gonna be a bit biased but it was a proper cup tie. Obviously gutted but hopefully the players use it as a springboard rather than go ok a downer. Genuinely surprised by a few performances, in a good way. You'd struggle to pick fault at many. We must now pray Szmodics ain't too badly injured but it's been threatening for a few weeks now.

Any professional player could play today and be fine for Saturday to be fair, it's just if any are feeling a tight groin or anything from the Norwich game. I strongly suspect none of the players want to sit tonight out though regardless....I'd say Szmodics especially will want to show he can cut it against premier league opposition with half an eye on his next career move...

To who? And which players?

John Eustace - our head coach

A new manager in a sports team or a 9-5 job will always target the weakest areas of performance initially - I've been doing it myself the last few months! In 5 games (assuming we give him Stoke), we've conceded 5 goals, not too bad really. In JDT's last 5 league games we conceded 12 goals - which is dreadful, especially if you factor in we played Rotherham/QPR/Huddersfield too in those games....... When you also factor in the lack of training sessions JE has had to work with, I'd say he's doing a steady job. I'd like to think that given times he manages to introduce a little more flair and attacking play but we'll see. Souey always used to say he was weeing with the willy he had, essentially thats what JE is doing. JDT was trying to wee with a 12 inch chopper, when in reality he was working with more of a stump.
