  1. Liverpool "Worst Support We've Ever Seen", to a FULL and LARGE stadium, genius. "Worst Support We've Ever Heard" makes more sense. "Have you one the Premier League", whilst now very dated at least makes sense. Singing "Stand Up if you've one the league" and "What's it like to win #### all" to a team with 18 top flight league titles and 5 European Cups is just silly. ...... I have other examples, but that will do for tonight. 353506[/snapback] Singing " The Champions League, you're having a laugh" to the European Champions (however they were playing on the day) was toe curlingly cringeworthy.
  2. Well seems that Matty will be OK. Mark Hughes says there are probably no broken bones.
  3. The most significant appointment is that of David Brown. A direct link with the trust fund will undoubtedly lead to quicker decision making and faster work in the transfer market.
  4. This old chestnut again. I don't want to get into a slanging match regarding Shearer's exit from Ewood again...but I also can't stand to see history being rewritten. As I understand it Shearer WANTED to appear on stage at the 'Theatre of Screams' but Jack Walker would not sanction it. The Barcodes where Shearers 2nd choice. Grow up! When Henning Berg eventually joined United, he stated that, " Alan wanted to go to Old Trafford but Jack wouldn't allow it." Which is fair enough, what is nauseating is the way the press go on about AS only wanting to go to his home town club etc.etc.etc..............lazy work again and again from Fleet Street's finest.
  5. To the tune of the "Floral Dance" after the famous boxing day win at t'Turf in 77. "I've just heard the curious tones of the Burnley fans as they start to moan, cos half time comes and they're three nil down with the Rovers giving them the run around, it's always hard to win away..... but not at Burnley on a Boxing Day!" Yep sorry 77, happy day!
  6. I think we have established on clarets mad that you brought around 3000 to the turf whilst we brought around 7000 to your place. The Dingles brought around 4,600 to Ewood. Bloody Hell the Darwen End was nowhere near full on April Fools Day. Talk about spin.Who's the moderator on Clarets Mad, Alistair Campbell?
  7. LOL, you absolute moron. i think from now on there should be a IQ prerequisite of above 50 to enter this forum. that would put you sh*t out of luck I have to say that we have the worst Premiership fullbacks since... oh er... Grayson and Davidson. Matteo has absolutely no confidence, every time he receives the ball his immediate instinct is to look inside to see if he can roll it to a centreback. If this option isn't on then he looks like a rabbit caught in headlights and out comes the big left boot. Result? Loss of possession. Neill looks more and more like an athlete and less and less like a footballer. Unlike Matteo, he seems to have a little Aussie swagger. He strides forward purposefully, looks to see if he can roll it inside. If this option isn't on then out comes the big right boot. Result? Loss of possession.
  8. What a ridiculous article by Phil Gordon. Of course Blackburn is a grimy town but to believe Premiership footballers live there is naive in the extreme. The training ground lies in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. The players at the club can ( and do) live in the same areas as the players at Manchester United and Liverpool. If the home sick Sweaty had been at United would the worldly Mr Gordon have wrote a similar article about the delights of Salford? Perhaps Mr Gordon should open his curtains and survey the wonders of the Glasgow conurbation.
  9. Radio Lancs quoted JW as saying talks with Birmingham were ongoing. This is on a Brum site so maybe the first part of this pantomime is nearly over! Latest on Sav, Laz & Yorke Posted by CraigCJ on 13/1/2005, 7:42 pm User logged in as: CraigCJ 82.36.64.75 Capital Gold we're saying in the 5.00pm news that Stan's Injury wasn't as bad as first thought and he will probably only miss the game at Charlton (Id Play Clapham for this game). They also said that Steve Bruce has told Dwight Yorke that he won't feature in the 1st team unless there are injuries and if he can find another club he is free to do so. Tom Ross also said that Savage was not in the squad at all to face Chalton as it is thought that Blackburn are very close to agreeing a transfer fee with BCFC. Looks like he is on his way then, Tom Ross usually gets it right with regards to news on Blues transfers.
  10. Or indeed Which school did you go to Doggy?
  11. doint want to be pedantic but its 0.001 Stella What school did you go to Doggy? I don't want to be pedantic but........ 1% of 20,000 = 200 0.1% of 20,000 = 20 0.01% of 20,000 = 2

  13. One of the things that is nagging me is the fact, as Chesh stated, that Hughesy is a nice bloke. Add to that Shorties comments and I keep thinking back to Kidd. If he's the chosen one then we've got to be 100% behind him but I can't help hoping he has a nasty streak!
  14. Some recent comments from Hughesy and his agent in the Taffy press...South Wales Echo
  15. Re: Wor Al "he's a proper human being and a proper man's man".
  16. Yep, I'm also drifting slowly towards this camp. In some respects Souey can do no wrong, his commitment and passion for this football club are exceptional. However, this is the guy who says he has his strongest squad for years, few injury problems and has changed his backroom staff to freshen things up. All of this combined football knowledge has been working for weeks of pre-season to come up with a starting formation that defied belief. What was meant to be going on on the rhs of midfield ( or the lhs for that matter ). To be fair he realised fairly quickly what a pigs ear of a formation he had and several minutes in conference with Tugay but can you think of another premier league manager who would have made this mistake? He has been a great man for this club but tactically he is either naive or taking the wrong advice.
  17. In the dim and distant past I remember Rovers playing Prague Bohemians in a pre season friendly at Ewood. It was one of my first games and seemed very glamourous. I think we may have won 4-0, does anyone else recall this or is my imagination playing tricks?
  18. I've just read The Kindness of Strangers, Kate Adie's autobiography. Excellently written, funny and also a revisit to some modern history.
  19. Tom Finn and John Williams have misjudged this badly. The interest in this game is phenomenal. The ticket sales against United and Liverpool are irrelevant. Firstly we play them every season and secondly due to the draconian measures to prevent infiltration many occasional Rovers supporters can't get tickets. Surely it's time somebody with a real feel for the club and supporters should be involved in these decisions. These highly paid, sterile corporate types are missing the point. How does 8,000 fanatical supporters following the opposition affect our own team? Everyone I talk too wants to go to Parkhead and we get mealy mouthed words about average away attendances. Somebody should have fought our corner. IT'S BO*LOCKS!
