[Archived] Glazer Set For Utd
SIMON GARNERS 194 replied to ainscough99's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
As much as I dislike Utd,for one selfish person to be allowed to disrupt a club and plunge it into so much debt, uncertianty and upheaval is truely appalling.Glazer has no interest in football, never has and never will. MONEY -

The 6% increase is good over two seasons but when you break matters down, the matchday price of £30-32 to watch a game of football in this area is pushing it to the limit.I'm lucky enough to be able to afford the season ticket but many with families will see those matchday ticket prices as a complete turn off. Blackburn is not a prosperous town, unemplyoment is above national average with the weekly wage on average below, one thing I have noticed is that people in this area demand value for money and therefore are more careful as to how they spend their coin.....could anybody on here at present state with hand on heart that £32 to watch Rovers is 'value for money'? There is nothing the club can do,they are pissing against the wind, like it or not we have a small fanbase and the only future outcome is that the club becomes more and more reliant on the relatively small(by Prem standards) number of diehard season ticket holders to stump up the coin pre-season. There appear to be so many outside factors working against our grand old club that I honestly fear that in the not too distant future a return to lower division mediocrity inevitably beckons.......and that hurts like hell to say. -

Agree with Ewood spark,Preston have a big catchement area stretching from the fylde coast up to Cumbria.Their fans are like any other, when the going is good they will come out of the woodwork.

Now Given twists the knife a little further into Souness side............ http://www.football365.com/teams/newcastle...ry_152707.shtml

Very enjoyable evening had by all,Tony's reception from the fans was thoroughly deserved. The reception for Shearer was equally excellent too......I get the feeling many outstanding matters have been put to bed once and for all tonight. A very respectable 13,584.

Eddie, the responce from the Blackburn public to Rovers lowering the ticket prices in the past has been nothing short of appalling. Have Rovers fans not been their own worse enemy here?. -

Great for the very limited amount of new supporters that would be attracted LD but at what overall cost to the club?...further and further into the red?/less and less income. A vicious circle. The crux of the matter is entertainment upon the field of play and, dare I say, possibly outside investment in the club. The spark has gone, you only need to witness the lack of atmosphere and 'buzz' around the stadium before the game has even bl00dy kicked off to realise something is not quite right at Ewood these days! -

The club is up ###### creek. The promotion of Wigan and possibly PNE will only further strangle our supporter catchement area....time for everyone concerned with Rovers to don the tin hats I'm afraid. Its damage limitation time for Rovers as concerns season ticket sales and the only way for the club to ride the coming storm is to invest in the team and that purely in an all out drive to hold on to the numbers at present, basically a massive gamble. My honest and heartfelt opinion as Rovers somehow attempt not to lose anymore ticket holders?........PISSING AGAINST THE WIND Another sobering thought, what chance PNE having more season ticket holders than us if they come up -
Were you the exception to that Waggles! What about the Championship celebration...you not up for it?
-
You could always ask Tony to lend it you back interest free if your skint! ....get your arse down you miserable sod.
-
Your a first class wind up merchant Waggy...I have a feeling you'll be there Lets hope we can push that crowd towards the 15,000 mark with late sales.
-
Jesus christ lets hope so!!

Just glad to be still in the Prem, unfortunately this is what it has boiled down to these days. ** sigh ** Lets hope for better things next season and FFS HUGHES ADDRESS THE SHOCKING STRIKER SITUATION. -
I for one agree with your post Gav. 1995 reunion party and all that Waggy the cad can boast is that his shift has 'saved him' .....is that attitude typical of our problems at the moment? Burnley have somehow found 1,000 new season ticket holders according to their site, can you see that happening at Rovers? Like it or not matters look very bleak.Philipl made a statement about support dropping to the p1ss poor level of the mid-60's,he has a very strong case at present I fear as the general interest and passion of even the hardcore supporter seems to be on the wane.
-
I trust the hundred's of 'disgusted from Blackburns' who vented their anger and sorrow through this message board and the LET sports letters page at Park's sacking will all be in attendance come Tues? SURELY now is the time to show your appreciation of Tony in the proper manner.............................
-
Very healthy queues this morning at the TO...looks like the LET finallygot something right last night!!
-
Dalglish,Shearer,Newell,Speedie,Garner and Hendry some of THE biggest names in Rovers glorious past......what the hell do people want? what the ###### does the club have to do to raise interest now? Your quite right Jan, the support and general interest as of late is very depressing.I've personally booked a nightshift off so as not to miss this one. Roversismylife,Garners testimonial gate was just under 15,000.
-
Back to the top. Fantastic piece by Shearer in tonights LET,also Garn's tells how he is set to fullfill a dream of playing alongside Shearer!!! Get your tickets all you miserable gets!!!
