It's a difficult one, Phil. It's something I've thought for a long time - certainly the long term benefits are there if some of these kids stick around for the rest of their lives as future season ticket holders. However, think about what it does to revenue. We need cash now to stay in the league. Players like Bellamy don't pay themselves. If kids tickets are a tenner (I don't know if they are to be honest) then 10 kids need to come for every one who comes anyway, just to make the same. Kids for a quid definitely boosts attendences, but I don't think it does anything like that to the numbers. I'm not sure Rovers could afford to do it for every game, as you've suggested. It's sad but true. We need people in the ground long-term, but we need money in the bank short-term even more. It's catch 22.

Good post. Although when he leaves Jan will lose one of her names to hilariously adapt. She'll be down to "Puke" and one or two others. Disaster. -

Agreed. I think it was andy82 who pointed out that when somebody is really really injured they do not roll around like they've been shot, as Smith and countless others have proven. -
You a bit ###### last night, Scott?

For some reason I've had the feeling that Messi has been a well-kept secret to some in England. I get the feeling tonight may well have been the first time a lot of people have seen him play. He has been an extraordinary talent for some time now. -
I'm having exactly the same problem. Even the ones I can select a quantity of tickets are going as soon as I can click them.

There were loads of yellows yesterday and even a green (category 1 Ukraine Vs Tunisia IIRC) but an no point was I allowed past that stage due to the amount of traffic on the ticket shop.

Good result for your lot PhilipL, Spurs aren't a bad team. Will you be starting Murphy against Rovers?
-
Who are you advertising to here, exactly? All the Burnley/Preston fans who read BRFCS and are completely swayed by "why support" and "real football"?

Rooney is neither spineless nor lazy. Is there any particular reason for this vendetta?

2 tickets for match 53 in the second round in Kaiserslauten. I've decided it will be Italy Vs Brazil as Emerton will inspire Australia to knock Brazil into 2nd place in their group.

I've got another. From the sound of things it's another group game, but anybodies guess as to which one. Can't even remember all the matches we applied for. Nice news to hear following Portugal/Mexico.

Yep. Tugay nearly scored from 400 yards too.

Roversworld commentary working for anybody? Can't hear anything at the mo.

I think that's a very good post. Shefki has taken a hell of a lot of stick. His shortcomings are emphasised against some of the best defences in the world. Rio is quicker, stronger and better in the air. Kuqi is not the kind of player to start against Man United. However, stick him up against defences like Boro and they don't know what to do with him. I think he's useful to have in the squad, but we need another quality striker to partner Bellamy because we need to be getting results against the very best teams to qualify for Europe.

Are you sure? I thought it was his header that Brad parried to Larsson in the first leg, and Larsson/Sutton who scored at Ewood. Hartson did score a cracker against Liverpool though. -
I don't think it upsets people. I just think it doesn't have to be said in every post. Great work Phil, always interesting to read stuff like that.

We can't rule out the fact that it wouldn't be the first time 1864 has been wrong about something. Sounds ominous but I'm stil holding out hope until I hear something official. -
Thanks for saying this before I did. it's Vinjay-esque.

I believe he means over the whole semi-final, not legs of semis. -
"I hope you'ld had a haircut before meeting proper people" I had a haircut in 2005 and you'll be happy to know I plan to have another one in 2006!

Just got back from the meeting itself which in my opinion was quite positive. John and Tom were very open with us and we put some things forward that I think will help the club, and they in turn have given us more things to think about. Needless to say once everybody gets back we can collate notes etc. The minutes will go up on the BRISA website in due course.

I thought Todd was excellent last night and indeed his reading of the game allowed him to nip several attacks i the bud with clever interceptions after anticipating throughballs and the like. I saw nothing last night that suggested he is anything other than a very good defender. I think it's great that Nelsen, Zura and Toddy are all fighting for two spots and all revelling in the competition.
