  1. Lets not get onto Oasis as musicians as the debate could last for days. Technically, they're extremely mediocre though.
  2. If you're the person I'm thinking of then unfortunately it was MGP. I'm sorry.
  3. Oh I don't know. "How's it going, Michael?" "Ah, not bad, Andreiy. Not bad."
  4. Did I miss something. Aren't you talking about Woy, Jan?
  5. We watched the game at the indoor Dortmund fanfest, which was an ice hockey arena, along with about 15,000 german fans. Before the game they put on a 'football disco' which ended with the song 'we are the champions' just before the game
  6. Atmosphere at this one was very entertaining. The stadium was very partisan Mexico. For the first hour it was very entertaining. The two turning point were the missed penalty and the sending off. Couldn't really make out if it was a dive from where we were sat at the other end of the ground (I assume thats what he got a yellow for?). Had Mexico made it 2-2 there was only really one winner. Figo looked good in the first half but drifted out in the second. Simao looked excellent on occasions. But apart from that, Portugal weren't outstanding and just looked to soak up play - which they did effectively. Was a bit disppointed not to see Deco etc, but I suppose there's no need to get him suspended or injured. At the time, Portugal had either Holland or Argentina so it didn't really matter which one they got - they need him despertely against either.
  7. The Japanese keeper just made a world class save to keep out aViduka free kick. May not be Australia's day.
  8. Don't all volunteer at once or anything Even if you don't fancy having a go yourself or don't have the time, it'd be greatly appreciated if you could pass on details to anybody you know who may be interested. Perhaps somebody who likes journalism as well as football.
  9. OK guys, Paul has allowed us to explain the plan so if you're interested read on... A few of us from this board (myself, cn174, Tugay4England and sleepyjack) have started a project called TildeFootball (http://www.tildefootball.com). The basic idea is that fans write in columns about whatever they feel like. They can be lighthearted etc but as long as they are decently-written then they're fine. The ultimate goal is long and complex involving interviews and guest columnists etc, but one of the things we really want is for every team in England and beyong to have a regular who does something once a week or so. This is filled out with anyone who wants to talk about the state of the offside law or whatnot. We've put the site online and put on one or two "test" columns for the lack of a better expression. They aren't that serious or thoughtful - more us previewing the way we can lay it out. As a test for the club thing, we're looking to have a reporter for each country at the World Cup. This (if you hadn't guessed already) is where you can come in. What we'd love is for 3 or 4 columns submitted throughout the tournament. Maybe more if you find you have a flair for it Perhaps a preview, a match report, a look at how brilliant their star player is, a history of why they underachieve - anything. I appreciate that a lot of people have already tied their hands up with these match previews but any help would be brilliant. If you'd like to know more/volunteer then you can PM myself or those mentioned above. I'm also available on MSN at bellamy11@hotmail.com and my e-mail addy is mark@tildefootball.com. As a preliminary I'll stick in a table of countries and tick them off if/when they get snapped up. Angola - JLM Argentina - daveon Australia Brazil Costa Rica Croatia Czech Republic Ecuador England France - Eddie Germany - brett Ghana Holland - Eidur Gudjohnsson Iran Italy Ivory Coast - sleepyjack Japan Mexico - S&P Paraguay Poland Portugal - Oklahoma Saudi Arabia Serbia & Montenegro - Robbojohnno South Korea Spain - ihatethedingles Sweden Switzerland Togo Trinidad & Tobago Tunisia Ukraine USA - Philly Rover
  10. How annoyed can you get when England score? He's only done the dance three times. I personally find it funny.
  11. This dude has made an excellent patch for PES5 which was released today. Basically the game is world-cup ready, but there are other nifty little updates which are listed including Sheff Utd, Reading and Watford. Don't say I never give you anything.
  12. I can't believe we're hung up on Steven Gerrard diving when the memorable moment of last night was right here.
  13. Fair enough. That makes more sense. In which case I shall stick with the Ukraine, who may well have to face France in the second round but have the quality to overcome them. I'd have said the Ivory Coast but they are in a shocking group.
  14. I think you're being unrealistic classic Mexico as a favourite. Otherwise, by that definition, we're just going to be listing teams that aren't going to win the world cup. There is no way Mexico, world ranking of 6 or otherwise, are classed in the same league as the Czechs or the Dutch. God knows why people think the Czechs are 'dark horses' anyway. Ukraine then. They qualified from an extremely difficult group and have a few good players, even if Shev is injured for the start of the tourney. But if Mexico are favourites then God help me.
  15. Dear Mr. Mark Whalley, We are delighted to inform you that within the Conditional ticket programme for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany you have been allocated 2 single tickets for the following match: Match #58: (Quarter final) W53 - W54, Hamburg, 30.06.2006 Kiss my face
  16. So he forgot for a month, but it's their attitude that's in the wrong?
  17. Any update guys? I'm going to be looking for ways to lose money over the summer soon.
  18. I fail to see how the team ranked 2nd in the world are "dark horses". That was the buzz-word for the Czechs 10 years ago. Strange how peoples perceptions never change. They have no recent World Cup pedigree but they should be counted among the favourites. The real dark horses are Mexico. Granted, they too have a high ranking, but far fewer expectations. They have a lot of technical ability and are a match for anybody on their day.
  19. Excellent, as usual, Old Flemmy.
  20. Nominate one particular world class save from Brad this season. I'm not saying they haven't happened, im just saying give us something to compare and get angry about. Remember there are maybe 15 extremely good Prem keepers and they can't all get in. I do agree with tcj that some of them didn't seem much better than average, such as Kelvin Davis vs Utd. Not paying your TV license (idle threat though it may be)? Get a sense of perspective. It was a Save Of The Season competition. If you're going to cancel, do it over one of those dancing programmes.
  21. This one is Stuwilk's domain I think. Off the top of my head, we get something like an extra £550,000 per place. A significant increase from 15th, and, more importantly, a good £2m better than our budgeted 10th.
