  1. I think the majority of people posted fair comments, with the obvious bias of being happy/unhappy when wickets went down.
  2. I was livid at Giles for a few minutes but ultimately he has outscored the top order. He should never have been in the position to get out at that stage. Pieterson is now crucial. Australia didn't lose it when Gilchrist went, they lost it when Katich went. He was building an innings and was the last of the specialist batsmen. Kevin is in an identical situation. If he s tays in then he will eventually run out of partners, but if the tail-enders stick around then England can still post 150. We have to rely on the top order getting their act together in the second innings. They should be going to bed tonight feeling humiliated and waking up tomorrow ready for the fight.
  3. When I said the Aussies could be batting again tomorrow morning, of course I meant later on tonight...
  4. McGrath is on fire. Both openers removed for single figures. Leaves the England captain needing a big innings when he's well out of form. The cricket is playing more like a one-day game than a test match. We could be seeing the Aussies batting again tomorrow morning!
  5. Are the TVs 15 minutes behind is Gt Harwood?
  6. Harmison outstanding. 5-43. Australia all out for 190. Now time to concentrate with the bat and not let McGrath and Lee peg us back to a similar score.
  7. The dangerman is gone. We're into the bowlers now. Warne and Lee can bat a bit and Gillespie is no mug either so England need to press on and take these last 4 wickets quickly.
  8. I must have missed all the fans congratulating Ruud van Nistelrroy for being a beacon of fair play. Don't 90% of fans in England think he's a diving, horsey-faced cheat?
  9. Whoa, a few too many Bellamys! Don't you all realise we jinxed Stead last season when about 95% of teams started with him up front. There's no greater pressure on a player than fantasy league pressure.
  10. He was, but I'd like to see how he spins it so that you're apparently the stupid one.
  11. Not to ###### in your cereal, but actually he was stumped by Geraint Jones. Memory going in your old age?
  12. Let's hope that Bellamy gets number 11.
  13. Very disappointing to hear about the flaws in Cricket 2005, but knowing EA, it comes as no real surprise. Spruced up graphics and no improvement in gameplay. Classic EA. Going to wait for Brian Lara on the PS2, and if it gets good enough reviews, go for that one. Basically anything sporty and 2-player goes down well at uni.
  14. You can assimilate without abandoning your country just because they aren't as good a team. If you moved to Brazil you could do away with supporting crappy Blackburn Rovers as well.
  15. Just put EA 2005 on. Graphically it has come on in leaps and bounds. Only 3 overs to play though, and I can't even complete them. Bloody hard. Seems a lot better than 2004 though. Hopefully far fewer glitches.
  16. I've schwomped it on and had a couple of games. Very arcadey, will be easy/fun to get into. Struggled with the keyboard buttons but hopefully it'll be simple enough on the PS2. Is an improvement on Cricket 2004. Just downloading the 2005 demo to see how that compares.
  17. The problem was the lack of variety, especially when bowling. There was a glitch where the computer would just randomly run itself out. It's almost impossible to get an LBW unless you're spin bowling from around the wicket, and I think I bowled about three people ever. There was also a bug where it was impossible to win a 10 or 20 over match because the computer could slog everything successfully with even the weakest of players. It did have some nice varied options though. I was halfway through a comprehensive tour of Australia which involved playing select 11s, one days etc before an Ashes series, but I eventually got bored.
  18. I totally agree, John. A fully-fit Sav will be a very handy weapon for us. He can tackle, chase and pass well, and gives us another option from set pieces (especially as MGP is very good in the air and so could be useful in the box). Roversmum, why have you put 'her' in bold?
  19. Last time I checked, this was coming out towards the end of the year. Excellent unexpected bonus. I've been playing a downloaded version of EA Cricket 2004 for a bit. It's a bit crap, so hopefully Lara will come good. I still have it on PS1 (in a double-disk set with Jonah Lomu Rugby~!)
  20. He's Scottish. And he probably assumed it because you always seem serious and annoyed.
  21. "What does that mean? Well, the fans hate the word `consolidation' and we're past that because we've been up for four years now. I prefer to say `competitive' and we were sixth under Graeme Souness three seasons ago, we've also had a 10th placed finish and a couple of 15ths, so I'm looking to be in the top half in the Premier League table come the end of next season" Better noises coming from the club there. Get that in bold in the LET. I hope Rev is more pleased.
