  1. "Whoa Teddy Teddy, he went to Tottenham and he won #### all". It's hardly magnanimous
  2. Be very careful what you say. I can't believe you actually hate, HATE all 50 of those, it's a very damaging emotion hatred, must wear you out. I mean, hating Trevor Francis for being dour?! FFS do you hate Fosters lager for being insipid? PS: Do you hate Shearer too? He did Ehiogu's cheekbone, which has affected his vision. If you also hated every single arrogant/ dour/ disloyal player/ manager/ director in football you'd have a lot more than 50! Or are you selective in your hatred? No he just felt like he had to live up to his gimmick.
  3. So Bellamy isn't actually certain? I thought it had actually been done already?
  4. " Laughable post from the former brewery worker who clearly has yeast between his ears. "
  5. I have never heard of amo being compared to Big Col . At the beginning of last season (before you joined) several people were impressed with his early season form because of his dominance in the air, strong tackle and threat from corners. This lead to Colin Hendry being mentioned several times "Not had a player who has done this since Hendry" etc etc. People had high hopes but his form dipped and he got injured. Now everybody finds it laughable. From what I have seen of Nelsen he will go on to be an excellent central defender, hopefully for many years to come. I just hope that people don't hype him up too much then feel let down, as has happened in the past.
  6. Although this is probably not the thread to discuss Gally, I have to say the one aspect of his game where he can provide quality is in his crossing. Perhaps a positional change is in order?
  7. I'll echo that he's been bloody brilliant in every game he's played. However, lets not start making silly comparisons. Amoruso was compared to Hendry at the beginning of last season and now he's the whipping boy. Nelsen and Todd both have great composure which is the most reassuring thing. They will both take the ball down if they have time. They will also get rid of it if they're under a lot of pressure. This is far more useful than having an overconfident failed winger or a big lug at centreback. Very promising start and I very much hope he can keep it up.
  8. Shitness level my arse. The kid has plenty of VO2.
  9. I've only been in H&H twice I think. The first time was on a random Thursday when the pub shut and I think H&H had only been open a week or two. I seem to recall paying about £6 for a double vodka and redbull. Also had a Friday night there sometime in November. Seemed enjoyable enough but I can imagine it would get boring after a while. For a really good night out you have to avoid the mistake of being in Blackburn.
  10. I hear on the grapevine that as people are getting bored with Heaven and Hell in Blackburn they're re-opening Jaks. Only took a few months.,
  11. Hang on a minute. Where have I gone wrong to warrant pie? T4E texted me during the Portsmouth game asking me how he was doing, and I responded with exactly how he was doing. It's hardly "he's going to be a failure and he'll never come good" is it? Unlike you, Mr6, I like to watch players in the flesh several times. In fact, sleepyjack and I drove from Blackburn to Morecambe in January to watch the reserves specifically to see how MGP was doing as it was months since we'd last seen him. If only you had that kind of dedication to your team eh?
  12. ZAM. Consider my allegiance (sexual and otherwise) changed. See, I am supportive: Go team!and We're the best!
  13. Why only those limited opening times ? To ensure that every tickets is sold and fans are not on the telephone for hours on end the ticket office should be open 24 hours a day. Pathetic. Pathetic Actually it's a very good idea. By not being open 24/7 the ticket office are missing that 3am crowd and that'll be the difference between selling out and having empty seats. Also, pathetic.
  14. But we have drawn Burnley and consequently demand for tickets is high. The complaints were that the club weren't doing enough to allow fans to get the tickets, something the club have obviously recognised and have now extended the ticket office opening hours in an attempt to cope. As has been pointed out several times, the home cup ticket scheme is not appropriate for everyone, whether the reason be cost or simply that people don't know in the summer whether they'll be able to make the games. I'm not entirely sure how much more the club could have done in the situation. I have absolutely no clue in regards to ticketing schemes and strategies, therefore a lot of this is speculation. Now, when the draw was made, Blackburn should have been anticipating a replay. This means organising security and the likes. It also means that a ticket allocation strategy should have been made. However, there are only, what, ten days in between the two games? With the number of season ticket holders willing to go to this one, it possibly (probably?) wouldn't have been enough to set aside a day or two for them just to renew their own seats. Therefore they've just had to let the stampede come at the same time, and set a reasonable deadline to renew. I don't know much regarding the staffing on the phones or at the windows because I wasn't the one who bought the tickets. If they were understaffed then this is the fault of the club. Drafting people in at short notice may well be difficult. I'm not sure how many tickets can physically be processed/printed at the same time anyway so how quickly the queues move will be limited anyway. People are complaining that they are finding it hard to get through and claim their own seats. This is the risk they have run by not buying into the cup scheme. Yes, it's hard to plan ahead for cup games because you have no idea where and when they will be, but that's the risk nevertheless. It seems to me that people are complaining that it isn't a foregone conclusion that they'll get their own seats whenever they feel like ringing up/going down. Yet if the club automatically gave them a ticket to a less glamorous tie then they'd feel pressured to go down and angry at the club too. If you haven't used the cup scheme then it's only right that you pay your dues in the line. I queued for six hours for Cardiff, and whilst it wasn't a joy, it was something that had to be done and there were little complaints from me. People here are moaning that it isn't put on a plate for them when a big game finally comes along, and this seems like a situation from which the club cannot win.
  15. Its not an easier method if you cannot gaurantee to get to every match and have to have the hassle or returning the tickets. Also for some fans here cash is an issue. They need to control their budgets v carefully. They may push the boat out for this match but not v Colchester. Why should the be penalised because they are not cash rich like some people. They will still try and go to every match they can afford. keep up with the debate. This is exactly the thing though. A lot of the people here are saying "why isn't there an easier way?" when actually they mean "I want my Burnley ticket". These people wouldn't be complaining about struggling to get tickets for Colchester. It isn't a cash thing. It's simply a selfish thing. As soon as some rare tickets come on sale everybody panics and think they have a right to them. Tris has rightfully pointed out that the only way to be immediately sure of having your ticket straight away is the cup scheme that people have been offered by the club. Those that took the scheme have been rewarded. Those that decided that maybe they wouldn't go and watch lowly Colchester (for financial reasons or other) have to ring up or queue. If they accept it as fair enough then that's fine. However, some are acting hard done to. The cup ticket scheme isn't a con. If you don't take it then you have to get tickets the old fashioned way. There wouldn't be any complaints about this if we hadn't drawn Burnley. People's agendas when they complain shine through.
  16. Don't worry Stu. I'm still outraged that you've nowhere to drink before this game. And no amount of clever reasoning and priority for safety will change that.
  17. The worst team poll would almost definitely be made up out of players from the last ten years. The greats like Crompton are documented throughout the ages, but the worst players from the teams of yesteryear aren't even known.
  18. I'd also like to congratulate both Den and anybody who provided testimony for the players I'd never seen (and in some cases even heard of). It also never degenerated too far when it came to arguing, when at one point it threatened to spoil itself.
  19. The university part of it. I'm actually from Feniscowles in Blackburn.
  20. It goes to 7th place in the league. Not the cup semi-finalists. It's been mentioned on another thread somewhere.
  21. He meant you looked for who to support after the country was quoted.
  22. could have been worse I guess - he could have been throwing coins. Sorry to say it guys but you were quiet today - and I say that not to have a go but as a serious statement - I've heard a quarter the number of fans you had in today make 4 times the noise you managed. Thought the result was fair but there can be little argument you had the better scoring chances - and by the way the pitch was the same for both teams In fact why don`t you (Please don't use that word again) off and die you inbred neandertal ###### Burnley ###### piece. Put a couple of paracetamol and a glass of water by your bed now so that you don't have to bother fetching them in the morning.
  23. Well I'm up. Clare's making a bru and Turf Moor is almost touching distance away. I'm getting unbelievably nervous. Need to set a tape and try and force some brekky down. Good luck everyone. See you there.
  24. Derbyometer clickety clickety click East Lancashire is leaving that crap Scottish game trailing Interesting link. I see that Barry Ferguson has voted 62 times in the Blackburn/Burnley poll.
  25. That's disgraceful. One of the tickets should be ripped up and the battle should continue.
