  1. I've always said if you told me they were Burnley fans I'd believe you.
  2. On the face of it, yes, but he's been allowed to spend a lot of money at Hull. They were clearly expecting promotion (or at least playoffs) this year.
  3. That's his new line now he understands his role in the process - he's been very publicly sidelined thrice in successive transfer windows. He's protecting his reputation now
  4. I'm not giving credit for Szmodics to the previous regime, sorry. Brittain and Hyam are a step up from the guys they replaced. Telalovic was a desperate, cheap punt. We've washed our face with Ennis. It's too early in the day to judge Wahlstedt (better than Pears) and O'Connor. Chrisene, Hill, Moran (for a few months) and Ayari have been decent loans. They'll all have been super cheap as that's the pool we're fishing in.
  5. Besides our POTY last year, Hyam, and our POTY this season, Szmodics (who's going to be sold for 4x what we paid for him)... and our best CM, Tronstad, and our best RB, Brittain. Other than that, nothing. The acceptance of the O'Brien / Brierley mistakes was him being professional as the actual culprits daren't put their head above that parapets and the fans needed an answer. It's no coincidence they (Silvestre / Waggott et al) pulled a new trick in January to scupper the transfers.
  6. Good, get any of those fuckers with ambition like JDT and Broughton out of the club. More Waggott, please. He's done an incredible job commercially as the CEO and as Chief Football Scout. We're lucky to have him. Hope he gets a big slice of the pie when the training ground is eventually sold for housing development.
  7. I think he did the decent thing and retired - so I don't think we paid him the entire 6 months.
  8. They'll take Gallagher in CM. Foden, Palmer and Bellingham (although I'd play him in CM for England to accommodate the glut of attacking midfielders we have) play further forward.
  9. So what's your plan b? No self respecting Director of Football is going to come into this shit show. They've literally tanked Broughton's reputation with three transfer windows - two in January where they failed to submit the correct paperwork in time and one in the summer where they allowed him to make plans and then pulled the rug from under him (Ayala, Dack, BBD wages not reinvested).
  10. Technically Broughton is responsible for the transfers - until they cost something, then it's up to Waggott and his team to undercut the Director of Football at every turn.
  11. He gifted Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday wins at Ewood - it absolutely is a disaster if he's not replaced.
  12. There's no way Casemiro is a legit 32. He can't move.
  13. If one more non-Rovers fan messages me on WhatsApp praising Wharton I'm going to punch them. Football in this country really is all about the PL and sod everyone else.
  14. I don't know if you saw the post-match interview with Pickering, JRC and Szmodics yesterday on Rovers' Twitter account. At the end JRC talked about building for next year - it was clear from Szmodics' reaction that he doesn't plan to be here next year (albeit it was subtle).
  15. Dolan is actually the opposite - he wants (and is best) to play centrally. Out wide he simply doesn't have the pace to worry FBs.
  16. He has to play in 75% of games... or what? His contract becomes void?
  17. Apparently Phillips is set to do another season on loan at Plymouth - at least that's the rumour down there.
  18. The 3 best performances were the ones where we could set up like team did against JDT - get men behind the ball and plan to hit the opposition on the counter attack. It requires far less skill / ability than trying to dictate the play. You simply need better players than we have on the books to attack and put the likes of Millwall, Plymouth, Coventry et al to the sword at home when they've set their stall out for a draw. We have absolutely nothing up front (especially with the injuries to Hedges and Leonard). JDT got around it by: drilling the players to within an inch of their life to play his system (progressive passing patterns and all) having the best CM in the division playing suicidal football and sending both FBs bombing on to overload the attacking areas When it worked it was great to watch, but he had no plan b when teams had a counter to it and we were on the end of numerous heavy defeats during his tenure as a result.
  19. Yeah, they failed to score a goal in any of those games too (-11 goal difference). Another fun stat is that they've scored 4 goals in their last 8 matches, and they all came in the same game against Huddersfield (6 losses, 1 win, 1 draw).
