  1. I wouldn't buy a L1 season ticket.
  2. Sell Pears to another Championship team - if not, League 1. Try to sell Wahlstedt to a European side, but of the two he's the one I'd rather keep. If you sell both, get a good Championship GK in and an older, cheaper, but reliable backup. If you sell one just get the good Championship GK in.
  3. Does it really need organising? We all know what happens at the end of the last game of the season - the players come back out with their families. An 80% empty stadium was the fans showing that they were thoroughly pissed off with what they've seen this season.
  4. Vardy really does have the personality of a 5 year old hopped up on Sunny D doesn't he? What a clown.
  5. He'll be playing in the First XI shortly - we're awful this year.
  6. The Loan Manager at Brighton will be bitterly disappointed with Moran this season. After a bright start he tired, waned and never recovered. He hasn't looked up for the fight for months - that's a massive blot in his copybook.
  7. Any DoF and Head Coach worth their salt will realise we have a massive problem between the sticks. If they don't resolve that issue then you're simply papering over the cracks with your other transfer moves.
  8. They're the cheapest way, yes, but they still cost money. For the premium loans - like Diallo, who carried Sunderland last year - you have to pay a loan fee and contribute to their wages (if not entirely cover them). PNE were quoted £1m to loan Tom Cannon back this season (before he was sold to Leicester). We've had our transfer and wage budgets slashed for years - we had to loan out Buckley to afford Moran's wages. I guarantee Chrisene, Ayari and the French CB whose name I'm not bothering to Google were free loans with minimal wage contributions 'cos their parent clubs were desperate to get them game time.
  9. Realistically it's 2 of 18 - cos we're not getting anything at Leicester and Sheffield Wednesday are getting something from Sunderland.
  10. I've never understood these nicknames. They're neither big, clever or amusing.
  11. Same EFL that delay punishing Sheffield Utd et al for financial irregularities until they get promoted so they don't have to deal with it - rather than, y'know, docking them 10 points in their promotion season.
  12. We were fine against Sheffield Wednesday. The GK literally threw two into his own net.
  13. Loans cost money. We don't have any. It's really that simple.
  14. Our losses are a flat £20m every year without fail. We've pared down the playing squad tremendously in the last couple of seasons and have brought in £22m+ (not including Raya or add ons for Wharton) in transfer fees, yet it's still £20m. It's no coincidence that the owners are being investigated for tax fraud.
  15. I thought he was really poor for us, but maybe he just didn't fit our system. When I've seen him play for Huddersfield he just seems to get his head down and whip balls into the box. Admittedly we only had Gallagher in the box for him to aim at, but he rarely did that for us.
  16. Pretty much. As Jimmy Johnson once said (a College Football Hall of Fame and NFL Hall of Fame Head Coach - won the Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys and the National Championship with the Miami Hurricanes): "it's about the Jimmy's and Joe's, not the X's and O's". We're running a L1 budget right now and it shows on the pitch.
  17. I'd be happy starting Brittain, Hyam, Carter, JRC, Tronstad and Szmodics each week in a good Championship team. So realistically you're looking for 5 new starters. 6, really, because you know Szmodics is being sold this summer. I think S. Wharton, Leonard, Buckley / Travis / Garrett (don't think you'd keep all 3), Hedges, Dolan and Pickering have value as squad players. That's why JDT struggled at the end and why Eustace hasn't been able to do more than stem the bleeding.
  18. If someone offers £15m for Szmodics you'd be mad not to sell. I think someone will offer £8m and we'll hurry him out the door.
  19. No because the Indian court case is late August. We won't spend until that is resolved because otherwise the Wharton / Raya money will simply be used to keep the lights on.
  20. He's probably not the man to run the club on a negative transfer budget and wage budget (which is what he's been asked to do) but to be fair those Directors of Football are as rare as hen's teeth.
  21. JRC said it himself - he was the overload option in CM when he started at RB. It gave him loads of room because LM/LW rarely had the discipline to follow him when he drifted inside. Obviously the downside of that is when we lost the ball we were wide open down the flanks.
  22. We're members of an exclusive club. PL winners need to look out for each other.
  23. Isn't it pretty clear by now that our recruitment team (incl. Broughton) have next to no authority to make transfers? They wanted Batth, but it was vetoed, yet Fleck and McFadzean were rushed through in January.
  24. I think JRC is trying too hard to be the creative force at the moment, hence the first-time passes that aren't on. As much as I think Tronstad is a great Championship player, he's not a creative one and in a midfield two that puts pressure on his partner to make things happen. I've always thought Hedges is a good option to have on the bench, but you're in trouble if he's your nailed on starter as his end product just isn't there.
  25. You extend Dolan's contract because a) it'll be very cheap (his own fault for holding out) and b) we need warm bodies. Gallagher should be shown the door though. Sadly they won't let us spend his wages on other players - they showed that when Ayala, Dack and BBD left and weren't replaced.
