  1. Kieffer Moore is a pretty handy player at this level.
  2. We'll need it 'cos no fucker can put in a good corner.
  3. I mean I'm as anti-Venkys as the next guy, but I don't really give af about a preseason game potentially not being televised. There are other hills to die on - like the home shirt, the lack of investment in the squad, the low season ticket sales etc etc.
  4. Less than inspiring reviews of Miller. Granted most people don't know what they're looking at, but still.
  5. BRFC are short of money. Our owners aren't.
  6. I know these are song lyrics, but the ability to run seems to be #1 on Ismael's priority list.
  7. Is he the best RB in the league? Perhaps he is on the ball. I don't think he is off the ball.
  8. Rigg? Hackney? They weren't stolen before they could sign a pro contract like Phillips, Finneran and now potentially Tyjon.
  9. Bullshit I assume - but how can Boro / Sunderland consistently get tens of millions for their talent and we can't? B
  10. Like Ipswich and co before them - it's crazy how a PL promotion just catapults you into a different stratosphere financially. Sunderland are spending massive.
  11. I'm on the fence. Long term we're obviously fucked because the owners refuse to employ competent people and refuse to fund the club. As for this summer, I'm pleased there's at least a plan. We've signed 3 players that are better athletes than the players they've replaced, which is what Ismael's system requires. Forshaw remains a weird signing. I can see us having a season similar to JDTs first season here, without perhaps the top end results (sitting well within the Playoffs for most of the season - we simply don't have the quality or quantity upfront). We'll either win or lose with this high intensity, pressing style. I don't think we'll draw many.
  12. I must be the only one that thinks Delap is a donkey - well besides Chelsea who have immediately recruited over him.
  13. He wants first team football - when everyone's fit he'd be 5th choice. Can't see that one coming off.
  14. If the service improves they'll score more goals. Getting the starting RWer right is crucial.
  15. He played an EFL Trophy game for them last season.
  16. Which is why I have to chuckle at Palace falling foul of the rules in Europe. I wish nothing good on that club.
  17. To be fair the CBs might die laughing if you run Cantwell out there at CF, so it could be effective.
  18. I'd like a third CF, but getting those two service is more important (unless you're going to drop a fantastic, do it all, CF in my lap).
  19. I'm talking about rotation more than Travis and Tronstad being out at the same time. We ran them into the ground last year - and the system last year was far less intense than Ismael's approach to the game. Montgomery and Forshaw might be good to bring off the bench for 15-20 mins every match, but I wouldn't want to start them. We're hoping Tavares is good - and even if he is I think it's clear we need one more.
  20. Do we know whether the 'pay as you play' deal is for the player or the club? I'd suggest it's for the player if he's still "super keen" to join as obviously he wouldn't give af if his old club was being short changed when he gets injured (so his opinion wouldn't be mentioned in the article - it'd be "the club are still super keen on the transfer". Also do we know what the injury is? Evidently not something that stops him playing, but perhaps something that COULD go wrong down the line?
  21. Buckley got 4 minutes against Elche (and still managed to get booked). They clearly don't rate him. Would you be happy with starting Forshaw and Montgomery midweek against Stoke?
  22. I'm curious what the plan is for when Brittain leaves. Duru? Loan? Permanent to compete with the new lad?
  23. Yes. They can't have watched this team in pre-season and have thought everything is hunky-dory at RW. I can see them convincing themselves that Kargbo and DeNeve are enough at LW, but at RW we have a big black hole. A DM who can play out there in a pinch isn't going to cut it.
