  1. On reflection I think Travis went on a run and Morton dropped in to fill for him - just looked very odd.
  2. Has he switched Travis and Morton?
  3. Bloody hell I wish Sky were this critical when Mowbray was in charge. Can't stop mentioning the 3 defeats. When Mowbray was going through one of his death spirals he was a good manager and our current form was brushed over.
  4. Szmodics was concussed on Saturday and is unavailable for selection today.
  5. I'd love to ship JRC, Butterworth, Edun and Vale out - but they'll all be needed at some point during the season, unfortunately. Unless we have a monster transfer deadline day that is.
  6. Genuinely, who else do you play in Dolan's place? Vale isn't up to it at this level - JDT knows that. Burns and Leonard are too young / unknown and need to go out on loan to prove themselves. That's it. That's why we signed Hirst.
  7. Said sick note is probably the best player at the club - we've played him too much at the start of the year already, he shouldn't be asked to play twice a week. Said teenager is a wonderkid that a host of PL clubs want. Wharton has had a bad achilles injury and a niggle to start this year - hardly injury prone. Hyam apparently is an ever present, so there's your Matt Woods guy. We simply can't allocate MORE resources to the position without selling someone first.
  8. I'm really happy that JDT saw the performances from certain individuals on Saturday and has benched them. I thought Travis was really good at RB and provides us with a good option there. Morton and Wharton were excellent in CM too. Buckley has been out of form for a while so he's rightly been benched. JDT isn't playing favourites here - he has no ties to any of these players.
  9. 5 CBs is more than enough for a back 4.
  10. He'll be consigned to the bench when Hirst is eligible, but yes right now he plays. Who else do we have - Vale, Burns and Leonard.
  11. So basically 30 pages of nonsense so far today, is that about right?
  12. There's a Tony Mowbray thread for this discussion. ☺️
  13. He runs a holiday camp so of course the players aren't going to mind him, on the whole. I'd challenge that he's good at developing young players too: he held Travis back (tried to turn him into a midfield destroyer when he has much more to his game) he played Buckley as a False 9 / #10 when he's clearly a CM he told S. Wharton he was surplus to requirements before being forced to play him pretty sure Giles hates him I'm delighted he's no longer here - credit too him for arresting our slide into oblivion (albeit a better manager would have saved us from relegation in the first place...), but he massively overstayed his welcome and thought he was far too good for this club.
  14. He's 58, his kids have got their own families. Always hated that excuse.
  15. Barkley would piss this league, it's simply not happening.
  16. He's signing / signed a new contract with Leicester.
  17. No we didn't AND he's on massive wages.
  18. If he scores 20 goals and enjoys his time here then it doesn't matter if another club offers £300m for him, we could still get him for £5m.
  19. I actually think he's very poor defensively, but yeah he's a problem going forward.
  20. I think people need to stop thinking about like-for-like replacements. We're playing a different formation under JDT. I suspect Hirst is an option to play #9 - when Dolan switched to #9 on Saturday, for all his industry (and it did cause Stoke some problems) he had neither the size, pace or guile to carve out a chance. Any head high crosses into the box were literally pointless. Both Hyam and Hirst add some much needed size to our team.
  21. That won't be happening then - he'd have to be sensational for us to even consider that.
  22. Do you have an idea of the names of those 4?
