  1. Might be time for a new GK, lads. This one is letting every shot on target in.
  2. I assume that's why Mowbray was let go - he alienated players. Brereton-Diaz's head has been turned for a while, not sure what JDT and Broughton could do about that.
  3. You might want to remove Sheffield United from your list seeing as they're being handed a transfer ban for failing to pay fees they owe.
  4. This is a chance to bring another £120k into the club. Yes it's a shame that ex-Premier League winners should have to look at a cup run to bring additional funds in, but here we are. That's the signing bonus of a good FA in the summer / the transfer fee for someone with 6 months left on their contract.
  5. It's why Broughton and JDT are fighting with one hand tied behind their back - this latest news is just adding a gunshot wound to the mix. It's all self inflicted.
  6. I was about to be reactionary and say I'll boo him for this, but he never returned from the World Cup break so I won't get the opportunity to.
  7. That's unwatchable with that commentary.
  8. That's a v, v young team.
  9. They've just sold Gordon for £40m, so that's their transfer budget sorted for the Championship. They'll piss the league.
  10. Doesn't help that he's not scored in 9 games.
  11. Except we beat them twice...
  12. #thankyouMowbray Spent £5m on a striker who he then put out wide cos he realised he had the first touch of a cart horse - and then extended his contract when our wage bill is clearly ridiculously tight. The gift that keeps on giving.
  13. The Comms / PR / Marketing team (whatever they're called at Rovers) will have no idea who's coming in. They'll know about an hour beforehand when someone from the operations side says "get down to Brockhall and photograph this new signing".
  14. Khadra doesn't play for us and has never been coached by JDT, so he's irrelevant to this discussion. Hedges has been a victim of his own success / his teammate's failings. He's been shoehorned into the side in a few positions (including RWB) because he's one of the few players on the books that can receive a ball in tight spaces, retain possession and then either pick a pass or beat a man. He's put in plenty of crosses cutting inside from the right - Brereton-Diaz's head is just in Spain so he's missed most of them and Gallagher wouldn't know where the goal is if you gave him a map. Dolan has played mostly as a Pressing Forward (a #9) this season and has really cut down on his pointless dribbling. So, no, I don't think Thomas indicates a change in our style of play. He's an extra option for that front 4 - one that brings a different dimension to what we currently have. Set pieces are also very important, just ask our lord and savior Sam Allardyce.
  15. How do you know what we bid?
  16. That's a shame, but the parachute payments strike once again.
  17. I'm taking the piss? Give over. As for who he'll cross to - well he'll immediately be our best set piece taker, so everyone. From open play, whoever is in the front 3 alongside him. You don't always have to cross for a header (as lord knows none of our current group can win those).
  18. This place is hilarious. We've just signed a pacey (something we've been missing) winger on a loan who was near the top of the assists chart last year, yet 90% of the posts are complaining about: Who's he going to cross to? Which young winger is he going to replace? Why is there no option to buy? He doesn't score enough. Why are Huddersfield letting him go, what's wrong with him? Lighten up - he was literally mentioned on here earlier in the season as someone we'd (the fans) would love to have - well now we do.
  19. Considering our set pieces are crap, if he just improves those it's a bonus.
  20. Absolutely not, we season ticket holders have suffered enough.
  21. Positive talks with Mowbray? I call foul on that one.
